1.) Experience: Like some homeowners our debt-to-income (DTI) was on the high-side due to being self-employedHe also had to navigate around the fact I did not file for taxes this past year, my wife's income (not w-or 1099) which needed clarification from underwriting/processingAV, very quickly explained what was needed and sexpectations on time line of what was needed and estimated closing which only took weeks! (it would had been sooner if I would had signed my esign docs on time)
Communication: If you're a first-time home buyer, you'll quickly understand the 'team' of people that it takes to get a mtg loan fundedThe LO is the 'quarterback' of this team which would include underwriting, loan processor, appraiser and title companyAV did a great job not only communicating to his team, but always relayed that information back to me...this way there were no surprises (luckily, although rare - our loan went through with no hiccups)!
Professionalism: AV presents himself and his team in very friendly manner, he speaks and communicates in a casual tone, and in person he is always dressed to the 'nines', but most importantly he exudes confidence, knowledge, and experience that what we would all expect out of a mortgage professional
In closing, it is also important to let you know, that loan officers have dozens of mortgage's going on simultaneously (at least the good ones do) - AV's communication and level of customer service made us feel that we were his only customers that he was working with, even though in realty we knew he was balancing many different conversations, emails and documents from customers that were in all different stages of the mortgage process
