Bryan's Painting and Handyman Services Reviews (%countItem)

Bryan has done a tremendous amount of excellent work for us since we moved to Leesburg FL in March 2018: Painting the entire house; installing an electric fireplace as part of a feature wall he designed and constructed with stacked stone and shiplap (which he stained himself); removing existing laminate flooring and replacing it with 20x20 tile;
removing existing tub and replacing with a walk-in tub. Not only has Bryan completed these major jobs, but his willingness to tackle smaller but important tasks--moving ceiling fans, replacing baseboards, hanging pictures, etc. has been invaluable. Bryan is absolutely trustworthy!! During the large jobs he even stayed at our house to maximize his time while we were away. He is efficient, fair and personable and I recommend his services without reservation.

I called Bryans Painting and Handyman Services, because I heard of the great work he does. I was moving into a house and it needed new paint and some minor repairs. Bryan was very fair with his pricing.. He came to my house with his crew, they were wearing company shirts, very clean and very respectable. They did exactly as the job was described and left everything clean and spotless. The painting job was neat and clean and I wont have to call someone in to do touch ups. I highly recommend Bryan and his team! I will call him again for any future projects I need completed.

I hired Bryan to patch and paint my pool deck and restore the wrought iron railing and gated entrance ways that surrounds the pool area . The pool deck had a lot of cracks and required a lot of patch work . The paint had faded over the years . The pool deck now looks amazing . The railing and gates had discoloration and peeling paint they are now a nice black glossy finish. He cares about his work and goes above and beyond to make his customers happy. I would recommend him to family and friends

Thank you very much Tiki. It has been our pleasure helping you with the various projects around your home. We look forward to working with you again in the future. Anything you need, just give us a call.

On May 13 our washer hose broke and flooded most of the rooms in our home. After the restoration company cleaned up I needed repair work done. I hired Bryan's Painting and Handyman Services to do the job in the amount of $4,638. Since I knew of his family I felt comfortable with having him in my house. His contract said he would have the work completed by June 8, 2018. As requested from Bryan I gave him $1,000 to get started and the remaining $3,638 would be due upon completion of the job.

Bryan started the job as promised but on June 8, 2018 he said he needed additional time and money to paint walls. He asked for $2,200. I wrote a check in this amount. After he left for the day I looked at the job he did and was upset to say the least. His workmanship was extremely poor and he considered it completed. He replaced baseboards throughout most of the house and the kick plate under the kitchen cabinets. These were all to be primed, prepared and painted. They were none of these. He purchased pre-primed wood and that's what he installed - no painting. It was scuffed and dirty and the mitered pieces didn't line up with the design on the wood.

I called Bryan and asked him to come back - we needed to talk. He was apologetic and asked for a chance to correct the mess. Seeing that he was sincere I agreed to this. The second attempt was worse than the first. He went caulk crazy - caulk on the tile, caulk of the new wood flooring, caulk where the mitered pieces didn't fit, caulk on top of the baseboard, caulk everywhere. He then brought paint in - high gloss white!! I have bisque cabinets and trim to match in a satin finish. He insisted I had high gloss. Finally he went back to the paint store and got satin but in stark white which he insisted was a match.

Once again I called Bryan and now he wanted a third chance and I said no. I've overpaid him for what was done and he refuses to return any money. I now have to pay another company to make this right.
Product_Or_Service: Baseboard

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I will certainly pay Bryan for the purchase of the baseboard but beyond that he did nothing right. I would like the money returned that I paid him. I have two estimates to fix this. Company #1 said they couldn't salvage it - tear it out and start over. Company #2 said they would try to work with what we have and they would definitely match the paint by taking a cabinet door to the paint store. I'm on a fixed income and insurance paid Bryan. Now the next one comes out of my pocket.

First of all, I honestly don't know if the person that wrote this complaint is simply confused about some of the facts, or is simply doing this to hurt myself and my company by her slander.
To address the false statements made in this complaint, it is stated in such a way that you would believe that I have been paid more than I have. Now, this may have been wrong for me to do, but as stated in her complaint, I believed that she was friends with my parents. So, when she asked me to write her an estimate with a total that was close to what her insurance estimator had written. So, I did write her an estimate that was for $4,638.38. Now, the actual estimate that I gave her was for right around $4100,and I asked for a $1000 deposit to purchase materials. This estimate was for replacing the majority of the baseboards in their home with 5 1/4" Victorian style baseboard. About the time I began the job, after I we had discussed the difficulties of putting new base in the master closets, due to having had built-in custom closets installed. So, she had decided that she didn't want to have some of the baseboards (in 2 master bedroom closets) and said that she would instead rather that I repainted her Master bad and bathroom.I explained that I wouldn't be able to paint until I returned from a family vacation in mid-June. So, when the original job ended up being less work than anticipated, I let her know that I would be fine with another $2200 And that is all of the money that I have ever received from her. And I have checked my deposits for June, just to be sure that I was correct in my own memory, and like I remembered, I received a deposit check for $1000, and a final payment of $2200, for a total payment of $3200.
Now I would like to address the fact that I finished the job before leaving on vacation on June 12th. The next time that I heard anything from her was the second week in July. Until that time, she never expressed any discontent. Typically, if a customer waited a month to express that they had any issue with my work, I would have told them that I was sorry, but they had waited too long. At least that is what I told myself that I would say. I don't actually know, because this is the ONLY complaint that I have EVER received about the quality of my work. But being that she was a neighbor of my mother's, I told her that I was willing to do whatever was required from me to satisfy her.
Next, I would like to address her lie about us not painting the baseboard... I actually have a short video of her baseboards being sprayed, because it was the first time that we were using our new sprayer. We applied two generous coats of Valspar signature series interior paint. If needed, I will have Lowe's find the purchase on my account. The true part of that is that I purchased the baseboard pre-primed. Which is normal procedure. I don't know of a single painter that doesn't do the same when painting baseboards.
My employee and I both spent an additional 6 hrs. each at her house re-painting, and in one area(under a kitchen counter) replacing the baseboards because she wasn't satisfied with the original paint. (which she didn't mention to me for a month)
About the high-gloss white that she claims I used, I only purchased high gloss because she had expressed to me that the paint we had previously had used wasn't shiny enough. On top of that, It was NOT bright white. It was the color that SHE chose. I still have the paint.
Afterwards, when she told me that she still wasn't happy, I asked her, what will it take to make you happy? Her response was money.
That was about the time that I now realize what's going on... I actually did think to return a small portion of her payment in an attempt to satisfy her, but when she reported my company to Crimes Against Seniors, when the main reason that I started this business was because I witnessed the way some service people in this area take advantage of their elderly customers, and it drove me crazy. Especially when I was told by Crimes Against Seniors that they, unlike you(Revdex.com), doesn't allow the company an opportunity to dispute the complaint made against them. Now, because of this person, my company will always show that my company has had 1 complaint on their website. They don't show any details, just that there was a complaint.
I offered to do WHATEVER it takes to satisfy her. And she not only wouldn't allow me to, but when I asked her if I could take pictures of the work that we did there. She would not allow it.
I am convinced that she must be genuinely confused in her memory. Otherwise, she is just a horrible individual.
Unfortunately, I started this on a new Chromebook, that doesn't have any of my files on it, so the only document that I can show at this time, is a copy of my deposits in the month of June, 2018
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. But as far as her receiving ANY money from me. It will not happen. And if she continues with the slander, I will be hiring an attorney and taking her to court.
