B's Granite & Marble Reviews (1)
[redacted] scheduled the install of my granite island on 9/19/13 between 9 am and 11am. I received a call at 9:27am from [redacted] telling me that they were not going to be able to make the delivery because one of their guys had called out. I made arrangements to work from home 9/19/13 which means that I was unable to attend customer appointments. I am in sales and trying to make my quota for the month of September so this affected my business. We then worked it out that the install would be done the following day, 9/20/13 at 4:30pm. I received a call at 4pm from [redacted] letting me know that they were going to be late because they were waiting on a trailer to get back to the shop from [redacted] I was told that the new estimated delivery time was 6:30pm. I called the office at 5pm and no answer, they were closed for the day. I wanted to verify the time and ensure the appropriate product would be delivered as I didnt want to be incovenienced even more. I again had to leave work early on Friday to make it home by 4:30pm and only to get a call on my way home to tell me that they weren't going to be able to make it. At 7pm there was no delivery or call to tell me what was going on. I called [redacted]s cell because she is the only number I had. I have been working with her since the beginning and no answer. Called her again at 7:30pm. Left a message stating I would call every 30 minutes until someone answered my call to tell me what is going on. Right after that I called her from my boyfriends phone and no answer. She did end up calling my boyfriend's phone back at 7:47pm. Stated that the guys told her they were definitely going to make the delivery so she didnt call me to give me an update. She called the shop and called me back to let me know that the fabrication would be complete in about 20 minutes and that they would be to my house around 8:30pm. Explained they have been very busy and finishing up fabrication the day before their installs. I was completely shocked to find out that the fabrication hadnt even been completed because my install was scheduled the day before. I was lied to twice about why they were not able to make their commitment to the delivery times. The real reason was because the job wasn't even complete. She said they could come Saturday morning instead but that the owner was going to be with them on the delivery if we did it that night. I advised that I definitely wanted them to come that night being that the owner would be with them. I had asked [redacted] to text me a number for someone that I could contact in case I didnt hear from anyone. At 8:45pm I called [redacted]s number she gave me and no answer. The guys show up at 9:30pm to do the install. They complete the job at approximately 11:30pm and then tell us that they aren't plumbers so we're going to have to call a plumber to install the faucet and reconnect the disposal, etc. It is now 5 days later and we are without running water in our kitchen. I find it absolutely unacceptable that there was zero expectation set for the need of a plumber. We aren't plumbers and cannot do the job ourselves. We have received one quote so far for $650. The service tech said that we need to remove the granite in order to get the pipes hooked back up. We are currently working on a second opinion. I am appalled at the fact that this company does this type of work day in and day out and doesn't think to tell their customers to coordinate a plumber at the time of the install. In addition to needing a plumber, we need to hire a contractor to re-attach the dishwasher to the granite countertop. Especially considering we had to give them the sink in order for them to complete the fabrication. I have three children including a 10 month old infant that complete my family of 5. 5 days without a functional kitchen equates to added costs for having to eat out. I understand the cost of doing business and that there is labor to consider. There were approximately 11 workers here to complete the job. The company had to pay for the installers to fabricate and deliver after hours i'm sure but if I had been given a time that the company would have been able to truly commit to, they would not have been here until midnight on a Friday evening completing the job. I was also told the owner would be at my house and was not. I still have yet to hear from the owner to at least apologize for all of the miscommunication, incovenience, and poor follow through.
