Blake Howell completely changed the contract I signed and agreed to and the contract I didn’t agree to states that he will receive his final payment before he provides lien releases. With a contract like that what incentive does a contractor have to make sure his subs are paid. One sub he was supposed to pay filed a lien against me. Blake states the sub was paid something not everything he claimed he was due and Blake states well I can’t help it a person filed a false lien and washes his hands if the situation and still demands he is paid. Blake’s new contract has the homeowner responsible for paying him. Blake claimed he was at a certain percentage complete when my mortgage company stated he wasn’t. Blake’s response I had better pay him or he will file a lien against me and foreclose my home. His response wasn’t to finish the project and work with my mortgage co, no it’s Blake’s way or the high way. His subs drank on the job and he did t care. Blake would disappear for a week at a time and his phone would be disconnected the show up stating he list his phone and finally found it at the park. His new contract that you didn’t agree to also changes the scope of work he will do, but the dollar amount doesn’t change. He will suddenly tell you after the fact you are over budget when you aske for invoice showing this abs ask why he didn’t tell you before hand to make your own decision he will matter of fact let tell you some thing come in over abs some come in under And you will ask and wait for months for invoices and when you get them there will be only a few. He has incompetent subs who do horrible work as charge a fortune and don’t fall for the redo because you WILL BE CHARGED and the redo will be no better. Product that was supposed to be used on your home suddenly isn’t and there is no explanation give. To you and suddenly Blake takes your product. Blake will sell your job to another contractor without your knowledge even though your contract is with Blake and the new contractor is clueless about anything you and Blake agreed to. Blake doesn’t like to give budgets. When he tells you about the jobs he has done you later find that the person was related to him or a friend not exactly a unbiased party to Blake or his work. I have doors that fall open and others that rub. Blake’s response to this poor quality work is you are just to picky.

Months later I find out that according to Blake I agreed to a new contract and in this new contract I agree to pay him first before I receive lien releases that he has paid his subs. Blake states he doesn’t get lien releases unless it is required because he doesn’t deal with untrustworthy people and he has had his subs for years. One sub files a lien and I find out that two other subs aren’t paid. Blake’s response he can’t help a person who files a false lien. This contract I supposedly knew about and agreed to also has me the responsible party to pay Blake Howell when that is impossible for me to agree to because my mortgage company who hold the funds decides when and how the contractor is paid not me. But the contract I didn’t know about or agree to helps set up the the position Blake Howell needs to file a lien and lawsuit as he has done. No contractor should be able to decide fir themselves alone when and how much they are to be paid when there is a mortgage company involved. And no honest reputable contractor expects to be paid before the supple lien releases unless they are not reputable. Blake Howell also did not have his subs have all inspections or pull permits, but when he refuses to tell you the last name of his subs it’s hard to verify if they are licensed.

BTC replaced our roof. Blake came out to check on the progress of the job everyday. I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of their work.
