In my husbands words: *** ***, Huntingdon PaI have not see the letter that Ms*** sent but I can tell you everything that happened with this project as well. I have attached a copy of *** ***’s contractI have been working with Ms*** for a whileWhen she
signed this contract I informed her that it would take some time for me to get to her job as I am very busyShe said that was okI told her she would probably be better off going with a handyman, because it would be cheaperShe said no she wanted a licensed contractor. When the date came for me to complete her project she called me while I was on my way and told me that she needed to postponeI told her that was fine but that would put her back on the wait list because I cannot push everyone else back due to her cancellationShe said that was fine.I never canceled on her nor did I ever refuse to complete her projectShe canceled her own appointmentAfter creating her own wait time she decided to call a handyman like I told her to in the first placeNaturally he can do the job cheaperHe has no overhead and is not registered with the stateHe then got her upset by telling her that I was not a registered contractor which means my contract is not validYou know I am register with the attorney general, thats where you found me, I also updated my info yesterday with the correct information. I have done nothing wrong in this caseMs*** was in full understanding of everything when she freely and willingly signed this contract with my companyI did not walk away from this job nor did I refuse to complete it.I have made every attempt to work with Ms*** to this day. My deposits are nonrefundable which is clearly stated and verbally covered in my contract and with my clientsEspecially in a situation like this where materials have been bought, my time, money, effort and reputation have been wasted and tarnished for no reason. Thank you, Tabitha M***

In my husbands words: I never received a letter or email but you have a complaint on your website about a siding job I did in warriors markThe only thing that happened to his siding is a piece blew off in the winter windI offer a ten year warranty on all my workAll he had to do was
call me to replace it and I would have done soInstead he called another contractorHe told them a huge story that wasn't even true. Unbeknownst to him the contractor he called to fix the blown off siding was actually relative of my wife's, small townWhen we talked to him he said there was nothing wrong with the job, it was a ten minute fix and he doesn't know why I wasn't contacted other than the fact that some people are just difficultBy contacting another contractor he invalidated my warrantyI do not warrant work done by other contractors

Contractor not doing quality work and finishing the job

I would have not perused this probably if there would have been any merit to the e-mail below, but I have to say, not only are these people poor contractors, they are clearly covering their a**es with lies. I have responded to their allocations below in RED. This project was to be completed in preparation to my daughter’s wedding in September, as PROMISED by BTM and after months of what we dealt with, yes, I agree, we had times we asked them not to work such as the wedding week and when my father had a stroke This company needs to be punished for what they did and I am sure continue doing to others who trusted that they would stand by their work as PROMISED. They lie, cheat and steal, they are belligerent and unprofessional to their CUSTOMERS, and completely unreliable and I feel that this is a case that should be considered fraud and theft by deception Also, I believe that they are committing tax fraud since they asked for all payment in cash only up front, this should also be investigated I have spoken to an attorney, and we have many pictures and witnesses to what all conspired through this project and with this company BTM should not be allowed to take advantage of anyone else as far as I am concernedAnd we are owed for the loss that we have experienced.I apologize for taking so long to email youI do hope I remembered the right emailI had to harass my husband a little to get him to remember to email the contracts, which I have attachedI hope the below rebuttals will help start to clear things upWe have been in business for almost four years and have been very busy so I do believe only three complaints from difficult customers in that amount of time is pretty goodWe are more than willing to work with in resolving these complaints to the best of our abilityOur information on the attorney generals website has been updated correctly as well. The Miller's in PhilipsburgThis was a very difficult projectThe homeowners were immensely difficult to deal withMy husband attempted to give them their money back and walk away several times but each time they begged him to stay and would change their attitudes for at least a couple days.We were first asked to pay the down payment to begin the first of projects with us only in cash which was a red flag for us and did not comply. The first of the projects that they did for us was a roofing job, that now I have been told was completely overpriced and was not completed 100%. On day one of the roofing project workers had injuries and had to be attended to by my wife who is an RN. The following day they came and continued to work all day, after leaving a short rain storm came through and suddenly water was pouring into our dining room for about minutes causing water damage to the ceiling. After the rain, I went onto the roof to see what the problem was and they had not stabled down the roof paper and the wind blew it up causing rain to pour into our house. They never completed the down spout work for water to drain from the roof and the spouting above our garage water drips between the gutter and fascia causing water to run into the garage. I asked multiple times if those would be fixed and told yes. At one point the owner said that he wanted to by white spouting and spray paint it to match the existing because it was a cheaper option…really! Once the kitchen was started we began to see them less and less, at that point I said “if you do not feel you can get this done by my daughter’s wedding I want our money back” he proceeded to PROMISE it would be doneAgain, after the wedding and having no kitchen for another days I proceeded to say we want our money back, again PROMISED I would love the kitchen just give him a little more time, and we did….only to come home many nights to incomplete work, faulty work, terrible work, and no clean up. This went on until we asked them to get out and not come back. They had gone through several contractors before us, which is always a red flag to me, especially when they had complaints about all of them. When I moved into the house I did use a specific contractor that I was not 100% happy with, especially with the roof work they had done in 2009. After we began using a good friend of ours that did many projects for us and is a certified contractorWe would have used him for this project, however, he had surgery and then an accident that put him about months behind and we wanted to get the roof and Kitchen done prior to my daughter’s wedding so I used Angie’s list and found BTM. At that point we went through a remortgage to get a lower rate and money for the project that took about days til closing at the end of April, and at that point was PROMISED they (BTM) would meet the September deadline and we will love what he will be doingNever happened!MrsMiller was very condescending to our employees treating them almost like servants. She may have seen them a total of times, on top of the time that she had to treat of them medicallyShe basically asked them to be respectful to our property at one point and asked that they clean up their cups, bottles, paper and cigarette butts and not leave it for my year old father to doShe addressed them rudely and would even swear at them. Denise does not swear, nor has she ever at anyone, this is a complete lie.A specific employee, Ethan, felt he was being discriminated against for his raceThough he is Hawaiian he got the feeling MrsMiller assumed he was Hispanic.Employees, at one point while at my house, complained about the boss and the way he and the other guy were treated at times. Denise NEVER said anything to that nature, nor does she discriminate, again a complete lie I heard Bob talk to the guys many time in a discriminating and derogatory fashion, but this never came from Denise. After employees were refusing to go to the *** home for work I was forced to address the way they were being treatedMrs*** only response was how dare I address her. Tabitha’s response was completely unprofessional and completely uncalled for, she had never been to the job site nor witnessed any of the issues we were constantly dealing with for months on a project that was 60% complete. Her husband had obviously overpromised and under delivered and many many aspects along with the consistent lies, and no show days that someone was to be there. There were a many instances where workers showed up and worked for an hour than want to lunch and came back hours later to clean up and leave Tabitha said in her message to Denise, that BTM was eating labor time on this job and they were losing money. She was rude, and very condescending in her message…we were the customer and we were the ones that paid them everything upfront and not getting the work done as PROMISED by Bobby the husband.Once the job was 99% completed they started complaining because the fireplace wasn't doneWe were not contracted to do the fireplace.Bobby had volunteered to do the fireplace work as part of his apologies for the roof incident. They came and stoned the fireplace times and it was still wrong after tearing the stone off twice and redoing. I was told to purchase additional stone to complete the work since they ruined about $worth with their screw-ups. Again Tabitha said that BTM was eating labor cost for this and it was our fault since it was not part of the contract, they screwed up and she was blaming us for complainingI have witnesses, that about fell over when they saw the work they had done along with pictures. They all but demanded it be done for free along with other things they thought we should just do for freeAt one point MrsMiller started walking through the kitchen yelling that she now hated the color of the cabinets and wanted them all torn out at our expense and new ones bought and put in without her having to pay for any of itWhen she was told that that was not possible she became enraged as usualHer husband would try to calm her down but it only lasted for short period of time. She did become enraged at one point because the brand new cabinetry trim was put up and it was scratched and paint scraped off and included splits and a chunk missing and the corners from the nail gun split due to nails being too large for finish work. The contractor blamed the cabinet maker and said it came that way. I was there when everything was delivered and saw the trim prior to being installed and there was not a mark on it. I contacted the cabinet maker and they were more than willing to come and see if it could be repaired but explained that they would not ship anything like that. I know the cabinet maker and their reputation is impeccable and they have done hundreds of kitchens. At one point when the cabinet maker came for measuring, the contractor confessed that he forgot to include the one wall of cabinets in the estimate..in turn after dealing with the contractor on payment, since we paid 100% upfront, the kitchen guy called me concerned that the contractor was shady and be careful because he would not send the final payment so that the cabinets could be shippedAfter having them and another licensed contractor inspect all the damage, they clearly stated is was done by a high powered nail gun that was not for finish work and the nails were way too large for that trim. They are about inch nails and I had to ben them down so not to be seen at the top of the cabinets. The estimate to have the trim work removed and replaced would now be very costly. There was nothing wrong with that kitchen the last time we(Tabitha was NEVER at my house)were thereAll of the work that we were supposed to do was done Except the trim around the doorways, outlets not covered, floor not finished, range hood not connected and put up, stone work not done, plumbing not done, electrical not completed, kitchen island not in place, drywall on ceiling and walls not sanded or painted or even complete for sanding with holes still, base boards for cabinets not installed, and much more. I had people stop by to witness what Tabitha was calling complete, only to be in awe of the work and what we were now up against. and there were no scratches or damage anywhereOne morning MrsMiller called, started screaming, there was no screaming through the phone about how dare I address her about how she treats those doing work in her home, which at this point was weeks ago, this was the final straw when we were told that someone would be there on Monday to finish up the kitchen that week and this was Friday I believe and no one had ever shown all weekAt that final point I had called to have all of their trash and dumpster items, drywall, nails, wood food trash etc, that was piled on a tarp in my driveway to be removed that day. When Bobby’s brother came that evening at 7pm on that Friday, I asked if they were finishing up a roof as I was told, only to be told by the brother that they had started a bathroom for someone that needed completed ASAP…we were on months at this point without a kitchen!!!and then proceeded to hang up. I believe Tabitha hung up on Denise! When we arrived to retrieve our tools she had thrown all the power tools out into the yard in the rain no less. They were put out right after the call with Bobby Friday night asking them to come and get the tools and he stated he would be there to get them. We set them in the driveway and covered them with tarps until he came. He did not show until Sunday to pick them up. We owe the *** no money, and will not pay themThis is a accusation made out of one of Mrs*** angry fits to get whatever revenge she feels she deserves. The pictures and estimates and unfinished work of what was not completed will show what we are owed. Thank you, Tabitha M***

My main complaint was the fact that his crew did not re-install the oil furnace exhaust system. The result was charring of the frame work were it exited the building. It was discovered by the tech from Boyer's who came twice a year to service our heat and air conditioning system. This error could have led to a serious fire. I contacted RJ about the issue and he responded that he was willing to pay for the repair which was in the area of $500.00. After a number emails in which he said he would pay it never happened. He finally quit responding to emails and calls.I went to the other contractor because of another issue which was not related to this issue. While he was there I had him check the siding because the top row in many areas was never crimped properly and kept falling out of the trim piece. RJ admitted to my wife and I when he came to replace the siding that blew off in the winter that his crew did not have the crimp tool when they installed it but he had recrimped the "only area that was not done". That was no t true as the other contractor did the whole area from the back deck completely around to the front of the house on the first floor.I am just asking that RJ honor his commitment that he would refund me $500.00 for the repairs
