To Whom It May Concern,Regarding the above referenced complaint, a few notes:The complainant is operating without the factsThis store had very old equipment when I purchased it three years ago, equipment that requires constant repair and maintenanceThe assertion that "...this company has made
no attempt to fix any of their dryers..." is false, and the stack of service/maintenance records and thousands of dollars of invoices on file is proof of sameThere is more than one laundromat in Tuckahoe; as sad as I would be to lose a customer, the stores are conveniently located within very short walking distance of each otherThe dryers are set at industry standard temperatures for each setting; the vents are vacuumed according to industry standards (twice a year) and the lint screens are cleaned twice a dayThis leads to dry clothes in an industry average amount of time and expense, PROVIDED the dryers are filled only to their proper capacity of 30lbsThe complainant is mistaken: there is no "customer bathroom" in the storeThe bathroom is not for use by the public at all, under any circumstanceMy employees do, however, make exceptions on occasion for the convenience of our customersBut that a customer is even aware of what the bathroom looks like is only a function of such an exceptionThe bathroom is not open to the public.There are two strategies laundromat owners employ, and thus far we have chosen to maintain/repair old equipment in order to keep the vending prices low for our customers (they have been roughly the same for at least years)The other strategy is to incur a six figure expense of getting new equipment and dramatically raising the vend pricesBoth strategies have merits, both drawbacksWe continuously evaluate the alternatives but have decided for now that lower prices are more desirable base on the feedback of our customersBecause this equipment is in some cases more than 25yrs old, it malfunctions on occasion (and a few dryers cannot be repaired because here are no longer any available parts)
