While the Owner *** is a very nice person, she does not stand behind her work and did not compensate me appropriately for poor cleaning services and for damaging my stove from using the wrong type of cleaning supplies (i.e. using stove cleaner on the outside of the stove).

When I tried to work with *** to rectify the poor cleaning, she gave me $50 off of the cleaning services charge of $175. However, she also charged me $200 more for carpet shampooing/cleaning, which was not done well at all. I actually had to pay someone else to go back over her employee's work to clean the carpets properly. As a result, I lost out on money even after her discount.

The most troubling issue, however, is that her or her employee damaged the enamel on my stove. *** tried to fix it by applying an epoxy, but bought and sprayed the wrong one!! The one she used said on the label, "Flammable. Do not use on stovetops. Rated for heat with a maximum of 200 degrees Fahrenheit." My stove exceeds 500+ degrees Fahrenheit. Plus, she bought a flat paint when my stove is a gloss. So, not only did her company damage the stove, but then she put an epoxy on the stove that wasn't supposed to be used - making the stove a health hazard and the situation even worse. However, I gave her another chance to fix the situation by getting the right epoxy. On Saturday, February 29th, she was supposed to come with the new epoxy to fix the stove, but she was late. She kept me and my neighbor waiting over an hour and a half. At this point I became fed up with the disrespect and unprofessional service. So, while waiting for ***, I texted her to say that maybe she should just give me a refund and let me handle the issue. She then responded about 10 minutes later, "Hey, I just turned around after your full refund statement didn't settle well with me so I'm discussing with my business adviser." *** has made no attempt to rectify the situation.

We did initially make an agreement on a set refund price when the client initial messaged me about the couple issues he had when he explained it to me that so many have we had I came to the minutes of the refund amount and he said he was OK with it as to if the rest of the house was satisfactory he said everything else was great except for those couple things and we left it at that. Which my legal counsel stated that’s where the transaction should have ended. When he contacted me days later about the oven I was merely stepped up to try to help rectify the situation even though it was out of my scope. *** than began to threaten me with lawsuit and wanting full refund. So at that point I made the decision to not respond any further until I got a lawyer.

I am rejecting this response because it is untrue. The owner continues to insist that we came to an agreement about settling the damage done to my oven; we did not. We came to an agreement on a reduced price based on poor cleaning service. I have the messages and invoice to prove it. The damage done to my oven was not a part of this agreement, and is entirely separate from the cleaning services performed. I am writing this complaint because Bubbles Cleaning Services damaged my oven and therefore owes me repair, restoration or replacement costs. I also am not “threatening” a lawsuit, I made the owner aware that if we can’t come to an agreement then my next legal recourse may have to be a lawsuit. In sharing this, my intention was and is not to threaten the owner or business, but to clarify the legal recourses that I may have to take if we can’t come to an agreement.

As I’ve stated, I am only looking for $200 to replace the damaged part of the oven, not a full refund. I have told the owner this. I have also sent the owner via text message images of the replacement part along with the cost. I am just seeking replacement costs for the damages done by Bubbles Cleaning Services, and I just don’t understand how the owner doesn’t take financial responsibility for damaging a client’s appliances as a result of their negligence. It is not only the right thing to do, it is the legally appropriate thing to do.
