Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/12) */
Dear Revdex.com,
As mentioned in the letter (attachment) that was sent to Ms [redacted], for the past 8 years, we at Bubbles and Ecouture work every day to provide quality service to our clients and their pets. We value every customer and work to...

meet the needs of their pets through responsible and skilled grooming services. The safety of our client's pets is our top priority. Ms [redacted]'s dogs were no exception. From our many years of experience, we have dealt with many dogs that have a tendency to become agitated and bite their handlers (especially while grooming, surprisingly many dogs do not like water!). This happens more frequently while wetting a dog's face. In light of this, the best practice that we have adopted throughout our career when dealing with aggressive dogs is to exercise extreme caution when wetting a dog's face (for our own benefit to avoid getting bitten and to ensure the safety of our client's pets). We ensure that the pet's head is tilted up, so that water will not run down into the nose and muzzle. Moreover, if the pet is compliant, we will use our hands to shield the nose area from contact with water. While grooming Ms [redacted]'s dogs (Max and Maddie), we found out that they had a tendency to become aggressive. Hence, we took extreme precaution to prevent the dog from becoming aggressive, harming themselves and us. By that logic, we do not agree with the consumers claim that Max's health problems originate from our actions, since we exercised extreme caution to avoid wetting Max's face in order to ensure that Max was calm whilst being groomed.
We are sorry that after their visit, Max had a condition that required medical attention at Southview Animal Hospital. We sincerely care for the health and safety of all dogs with whom we work on. We felt terrible when we heard back from our client, Ms [redacted] claiming that we were the cause of Max's condition. We reached out to Max's Vet on 30th June 2015 and spoke briefly about Max's condition. To our surprise, Max's vet was not able to confirm that Max's condition was caused by his visit to our business. She cited multiple conditions with Max that could have increased his susceptibility to such a condition, mainly that he was small and overweight. Moreover, she thought that Max had a harder time breathing in general (due to his other conditions) and this increased probability to contract such a condition. We also learnt that she had dealt with this condition numerous times and have found causes ranging from pet's merely drinking from their water bowl or playing in a puddle of water. Finally, Max's vet assured us that she informed Ms [redacted] that she was not able to determine the cause of Max's condition, hence we are baffled as to why she would attribute Max's condition to the grooming session, specifically citing from her Vet.
Lastly, we'd like to note that we intended to pay Ms [redacted]'s vet bill and refund the grooming cost, however after speaking to Max's vet, it seems that there is lack of concrete evidence that Max's condition was indeed caused by his visit to our business. Moreover, we stress that we took extreme precaution when dealing with Max, especially due to his tendency to be aggressive towards handlers when groomed. Taking all that into account, we feel that Ms [redacted]'s claim lacks credibility and we implore you to dismiss this case.
Thank you.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not except their response. I went to the Vets office and talk to Dr. [redacted], who stated she had not discussed Max's health she could only discuss the aspiration issue. He did not talk to Dr. about previous health issues as he stated. Frank also stated in his reply to the Revdex.com that he intended to pay the Vet bill and grooming and refund me for both, but he sent me a certified letter July 1st that he would not pay for anything. Frank stated that my dogs when being groomed they would get agitated and aggressive and bite while being groomed, but when Frank talk to the Vet he said when Max was put in the bathing tub he would become frozen so which is it? Max is 8 yrs old and does not have trouble drinking water.Max was not any where near water after leaving the groomers we had gone right to St.cloud for business. If needed I can get letters from neighbors and friends that Max is well liked and not aggressive. I would be more than happy to fax you any additional paperwork that you my need including Franks certified letter or copies of Vets bill.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/07/22) */
Dear Revdex.com & Miss [redacted],
With regard to Miss [redacted]'s response on 7/15/2015, this is our response. With reference to Miss [redacted]'s statement about her conversation with Dr. [redacted], we'd like to highlight that our response was consistent with Dr. [redacted]'s statement. We did only talk about Max's health condition specifically for that visit where there was suspected pneumonic aspiration. In our previous response, we highlighted that Max's risk for contracting pneumonic aspiration could have in fact been increased due to his physical condition at the time of his visit (i.e. being small and overweight). We have not alluded to any pre-existing conditions (historical illnesses etc.) since we did not discuss such details with Dr.[redacted]. We are not sure why Miss [redacted] had that impression that we discussed such matters. Alluding to the last paragraph of our previous response, we believe Miss [redacted] has misinterpreted that as a statement of intent to follow up with payment of the vet bill and grooming costs. We had the intent of covering her costs for max's vet bill and grooming costs for that session, however after our conversations with Dr. [redacted], we felt that there was no concrete evidence supporting the theory that Max's aspiration was indeed caused by the grooming session at our business. Therefore, we decided to NOT reimburse her and cover her Vet costs as stated in our letter to Miss [redacted]. Dr. [redacted], herself could not confidently assert that this was indeed the cause as well as highlighted in the Vet bill for that specific visit. Conversations with Dr. [redacted] and independent research taught us that there could be many causes to such an ailment (cases where even a dog simply drinking water from his/her water bowl contracts such a condition). We apologize that we gave the impression that Max was an aggressive and unlikeable dog, however we feel strongly that we made no such statement. We completely agree with Miss [redacted] that Max is a lovely dog. In our previous response, we alluded to the fact that many dogs (even the really cute ones) have a tendency to exhibit aggressive behavior especially when groomed. We understand this as a primordial instinct, nature playing its part. Many dogs come by who are afraid of being groomed, out of fear; they tend to lash out at their handlers/groomers. Despite this, we cannot simply abandon their needs for cleanliness and proper grooming. We prioritize taking extra precautions as mentioned in our previous response in order to ensure the safety of our client's pets, and us.
Thank you.
