Bub's Appliance Service Reviews (1)

Revdex.com Bainbridge response   Yes, I drive a 4 door hatchback sedan without any advertising of my business, “Bubs Appliance Inc,” located on the vehicle.   I find there are many advantages to driving my car over my previous work van such as: better gas mileage, better maneuvering...

abilities in high traffic conditions, better parking options, and overall it provides a better and safer driving experience for myself and those with whom I share the road.  This is the first time any of my clients have expressed concern over my choice of transportation.   I identified Ms. Customer’s problem as a frozen drain in her Viking freezer.  I used a McCulloch steam gun to melt the ice and subsequently clear the drain.  (Although the steam gun does have a similar appearance to a hair blow dryer, it is in fact a commonly used tool in the appliance repair industry).  I diagnosed the cause of the problem as “ice accumulation at drain tube inlet” and recommended the official Viking solution found in their Technical Bulletin No. TR-0055D-SP, which can be found on the Viking Service Extranet.  At the time, Ms. Customer chose to forgo the recommended solution and therefore it is no surprise she again experienced a frozen drain.  Ms. Customer’s freezer was indeed manufactured with a defrost heater.  The kit mentioned in the Technical Bulletin is in addition to the defrost heater.    As for cited communication problems, it is true in one instance Ms. Customer emailed me on Sunday October 22nd. She then texted the next day and I replied by text on Wednesday October 25th. I had been out of town.  I charge a flat rate service fee to diagnose a problem and a flat rate labor charge that is based on The Original Blue Book- Major Appliance-Job Rate Guide, an industry standard fee book. The majority of my clients who choose to own a Viking appliance expect higher repair and maintenance costs associated with owning high end equipment.     Ms. Customer has taken action to obtain a refund from her credit card company, doing so prior to asking me for a refund and prior to my being able to respond to this Revdex.com complaint.  It should be noted Ms. Customer signed a contractual agreement to pay the charges. She has since contacted me at which point I calmly reasoned with her.  She responded that I am ‘just an appliance repair man,’ attempting to demean me and all those in the profession. In the 26 years that I have been in the appliance service business I am blessed that it is a rare occurrence to encounter someone so suspicious and aggressive toward myself and my line of work. In fact, she has informed me she will be reporting to her HOA that I am a “scam artist.”  This is flagrant slander.
