Buckingham Disposal

Buckingham Trucking provided a service for the contractor who was hired by ***. When *** called to have the box pulled from his driveway, we had to contact the contractor who ordered and is paying for the box to see what the situation was, as the contractor is the one responsible for the
roll-off box. The contractor instructed us not to pull the box, because when the contractor ordered the box, it was to be for construction material only, but the contractor informed us that the homeowner had thrown compost material into the box, which compost and construction material cannot be mixed together. Buckingham was trying to work with both parties to resolve the situation, as with having the compost and construction material mixed together, there would be an additional cost to haul the box, which was stated in ***'s complaint, as Buckingham would have to bring the box back to our shop, dump the box, sort it, and reload the box to get it hauled away and properly disposed of.Shawn had spoken with *** on Thursday 6/2/after the complaint had been submitted and the box at ***'s location was pull on Thursday 6/2/16. Buckingham did endure additional cost with having to bring the box to our facility to sort it and reload it, as *** would not pull out the compost material that was thrown in the box.We feel that this matter has been resolved and could of been avoided if the box that was ordered for construction material only, staying only construction material

In response to [redacted]s complaint, it is identified and stated on the back of each of our statements that go out to every customer that "A customer canceling service during a billing cycle...

will do so at forfeiting any prepaid monies." This is a common practice in our industry and by paying for those three months of service, you are stating that you are committed to the service for those three months that you were billed out on. I have attached a copy of the back of our statement for your reference. It is also stated on the back of our company statements that "A $50.00 cart removal fee will be applied if canceling during a billing cycle." We did not apply that removal fee to this customer even though he was subject to the fee.
Though this is a policy of our company, we will go ahead and refund [redacted] $44.28 within 30 days of this reply. Buckingham is doing this as a good gesture to show that we are a good company that cares about our customers and our community.
I have spoken with [redacted] on 9/3/15 regarding our policy and the information listed on the back of his statement, which he did admit that he did not review the policies before submitting this complaint. After explaining to [redacted] about the policy and making sure that he understood where Buckingham is coming from with having a policy like this in place, I went ahead and told [redacted] that I would go ahead and refund his money. [redacted] seemed appreciative of the phone call and the refund.

The lesson learned: Don't sign up for autopay because autopay allows them to bill you in advance and prepaid monies are not refunded. Controlling how much you pay and when is a best practice.
