I am the owner of this shop and this could have been handled very easily if handled any way but how the customer and shop now that so called is handling the assembly of the engine now went about itAs the customer said I took the engine apart
to diagnose a issue he hadWhen disassembled we found there was much more damage than originally thoughtWe contacted him on the issue and he said that 4,dollars was way to much for a rebuilt engine for him at that time and to put it outside he would come get it the next dayThe Money amount is important for a cost reference later and this vehicle was placed outside on a Thursday for his to get on Friday He did not make it over till Sunday and it rained Saturday The only thing exposed to any rain was the head and components which in the repair also needed machine work anyway and is completely full of oil therefore causing no damage at all and the engine was under the hood and I have definate proof no water could get on the engine from that and it was there two days so no more than a inch of water could have accumulated no matter whatHe contacted me one time and I had forgotten to return his call My friends contacted me saying he was asking them to show in court against me and I contacted himHe said face book showed I was doing terrible work on everyone's vehicles before I could say anythingWhich I have found untrueWhen he took the truck it sat in a undisclosed location for months so I have no proof that the so called water damage could have not happened in his own possessionAlso when I asked to see the damaged parts they told me that was not going to happenThen I said I will pay the damages straight to the machine shop of choice seeing that they let me know that my day of storage caused the so called damage that I would pay what they said it cost and to that machine shop they said no! They said very firmly that I will pay the full amount and it will be a check to them onlyAlso they claimed it would be more than before! The money I told him comes important here because I told him 4k for the whole job including removing and installing engine and parts so it was about for the rebuild plus labor So they want the whole amount for the rebuild just for some machine shop work? Also they will not let me pay the machinist directly even if it was for the repair needed? Now you could see how that is very inaccurate and I have 60yrs of machine shop experience I called in to verify what I was thinking and they agree fullyI honor my work and integrity to the fullest but it has to be a honest issue and I don't think the customer is being dishonest I think the shop he took it to now is

MrBis contradicting himself in his replyI was never offered any kind of reimbursment and in fact was told he will be paying nothingIf I was offered a reimbursment for damages I would have taken it and not had to go through any of thisIt's not just machine work that needs doneThere are parts damaged as wellHe says in one part it was outside from Thursday to Sunday but then also says it was outside only one day later in his replyThe hood was closed but the engine remained uncovered under the hoodAs water runs down a windshield it will also pass the gap between the hood and cab where the water ran through resulting in cylinder and accumulating water because they are at the back where the gap isThe vehicle sat at my house under cover of my garage from the date it was picked up from MrBuntil the engine was taken to a different shop so it was not exposed to the elementsThe damages done resulted in additional costs for labor and partsI have already got all my replacement parts needed for the original work that needed done but we are now at a stopping point until this is further resolvedI have made more than one attempt to reach MrBand have the phone records from my cell provider to prove itIt was not several months before any of this was attempted to be resolved, that's just the time period he chose to replyThe only reason I considered legal assistance was because of the lack of communication on MrB.'s partSo I say again, if he is willing to pay for the damages like he claims he had attempted to prior, then there will not be anymore issue here
