Bucky's Automotive Reviews (1)

Review: My 2000 [redacted] was damaged. I took my car to Buckys Automotive in [redacted]. Bucky referred me to his body work guy and gave me the address. I dropped the car off where I was told. They told me they would send the tags in. I assumed they had. For many months I went by to check on the progress and there was none. My car was parked in the yard with other cars and it was backed in against a fence and I was unable to notice that the tags were on the car. When I finally took the car back I told them I was upset that they had not turned in the tags as they said they would and they said they could not help me. In addition when the car came back Bucky told me that after my house burned down, I could keep the 2000 [redacted] on his lot for as long as I needed. When I reached out to get my car Bucky told me that he put a mechanics lien on same and that it was easy and then he was able to sell the car. I beleive this was theft. Bucky told me I could keep it there for free and he certainly never sent me a bill, just put a lien on the car unbeknownst to me and stole it. I asked for the money he got for the car and he said I should take a walk.Desired Settlement: As well as any assistance that could be provided to reduce the mva fines that I have incurred as a result of Bucky's negligence in not returning same to the DMV as promised. I know have an outstanding financial responsibility lien in excess of 2300.00. The reason this is so serious is that I can not register a car in Md unless the fines are waived or paid. I just moved back to Md and need a car to get to work. Bucky, told me one thing and did another by not returning tags and stealing my car!

Response:

[redacted] came to Bucky's Automotive early in the morning and told me that her son had taken her car out in middle of night and had an accident. It was so bad that the car could not be driven. [redacted] rode with me where her car was on [redacted] in [redacted]. Once I looked at the car and realized the damage was significant I told her there was nothing I could do about fixing her car because I do not do body work. I suggested to her that she should take her car to [redacted] Auto Body, the owners name is [redacted]. That is where her car stayed for the next three years. As far as the tags go I have no idea what arrangements she made, maybe she told [redacted] to turn them in maybe she didn't but was her responsibility to turn her tags into MVA. When the car was returned to her house, about a week or so went by and her house caught on fire. She came to my shop once again asking me to come to her house and get the car out of her yard and I did. I noticed the fire department had dropped an air conditioner on the car and it landed on the hood and bumper and the heat from the fire did other damage. She asked me to fix her car so it would be usable again, I did not know what she was going to do with the car. She eventually received a check from the insurance company on her house. Somewhere around that time she disappeared and I was told she went to [redacted]. I tried numerous times to reach her, at first with no luck then I finally I was able to reach her. She told me she was sending her son to pick up the car, it took a week or two for him to show up. Her son and his father went to MVA to get tags for the car, they could not get tags because [redacted] owed a large fine due to her negligence. Her son decided at that time that he did not want the car because he could not pay MVA what his mother owed so they left. I never told [redacted] I would keep her car at no charge, clearly have a sign posted in my shop that storage is $25.00 per day. So after approximately 2 and 1/2 years of [redacted] not coming to pick up her car I contacted a company, because at that time the car was clearly abandoned and the company place a mechanics lein on the car. They came out and I paid $300.00 to have paperwork legally drawn up. She was sent her a certified letter explaining what they were doing. At that time she had an opportunity to get the car back from the company that place the lein. So once 1 received the title after 3 months 1 put tags on the car in mine and my girlfriends name. I had the car in mine and my girlfriends name for 2 years, eventually the car was wrecked and totaled. Please feel free to contact me if you need any other information.Bucky F
