They purchased a washer from us on 6/15/and returned it on 7/14/ This particular unit only had a day warranty, because anything we sell under $has a shorter warranty They had called and complained about the washer and we discussed what articles of clothing were being
washed and maybe they had an unbalanced load, as we do with any washer complaint They called and said that they were bringing the washer back and we informed them that we would refund 1/of their money and consider the other 1/rent We had also told them that we could put the 1/towards another washer purchase, but we had no other washers at that time and they needed one right away We washed large towels in the washer when they brought it back and it ran perfectly We do not know what her loads were that she was washing in it or the condition of the flooring, which could result in more vibration or "walking" when being run with certain loads We do not think that we owe them anymore as they used it for the month before bringing it back We told them they could bring it back in and we would run it and see if anything was wrong, but they just wanted their money back

I am rejecting this response because:We returned the machine and already knew we wanted our money back since they had no other machine available, which they admitSo, it's clearly obvious the machine didn't work for us so we wanted a full refundTheir washing machine sat on the exact same spot our old one sat on with no problems, and now the new, used machine is in the exact same spot with no problemsSo NO uneven floor caused the machine to vibrate---the machine itself was the problemWe told them clearly what the problem was and what we washed in it, and at NO time were we told the other half of the funds would be considered "rent" because we used it once a week for four weeks(Rent for using a machine four times in one month is a very poor way to conduct business.) No rent was ever mentioned as part of the deal if we brought the machine backAs I said in the original complaint, we didn't want to have to return it because we are older and disconnecting everything and loading and unloading it was not a cake walk for usI tried to make it work is the reason we kept it up to the end of the day periodWe now have a used machine from a competitor that is working just fine and even though it, too, is used it has a day warrantySo, with the short warranty I had to concede that if it wasn't working right, I couldn't afford to wait and hope it would start working okay. We told them what we were washing, and yet they stated they didn't know what we were washing in itWe were washing mostly large towels and distributing them evenly around the centerThe machine would just consistently bang and knock and overbalanceI've already pointed out that the floor had nothing to do with itPrevious and current machine work fine there without knocking aroundWe feel we are entitled to a refund of the remaining balance
