September 2,2016Greetings,I am providing documentation for complaint ID # [redacted] against Buddy's Home ImprovementsLLC.I would like to answer one of the statements made by the company owner that really bothersmeHe stated I quit a well paying job to watch over the projectI did quit my job, not that it isany of his business why I did so, but it was to take on of my grandchildrenI am absolutelyappalled at his statement that I was as drunk as a fish and find it highly offensive. The second statement that bothers me is he states I refused to make a planAs you can see onthe first page of emails, I told them I need a detailed plan worked out, I not only asked for thisin writing, I asked several times in person and did not get it, my fault for letting the job proceed.Their response about what my husband(***) says about not wanting to do the job properly isincredulous, we put a lot of money into this project and wanted it done properlyMy husbandrefused to let them return to our home due to this statement, he does not like being lied on.When I spoke with the project manager in the beginning, I was to purchase all materials neededon my [redacted] card, and one day he goes and purchases over $1,for the project and hasthem delivered without an okay from me, and then I get a billThis was not part of ouragreement, but I paid the bill and let it goI tried very hard to be pleasant. The owners statement that it has been an issue getting payment is also false, I have providedproof of payment in a timely manner.I have included everything that I can except my text messages which I have not been able toprint, but can send as an attachment to an emailI hope this is helpful!.After recieving the complaint from the Revdex.com, the company's project manager called me and toldme they realized where the sewer gasses were coming from, the person installing the tub failedto put traps in the bathtub drainsThey offered to come and install a trap, this is completelyunacceptable, the person they offered is the same person who failed to do the job properly thefirst time, and is not a plumberTheir employee has completely messed up almost everythinghe didI have contacted a local plumber and they are coming to inspect the plumbing and toinstall a trap.Arbitration is on the table for me however, I do not believe he is willing to settleI have putalmost $17,into this project and as you can see by the pictures, it is a disasterI will neverbe able to fully enjoy my bathroom, I am upset everytime I step foot in it.I paid for this job in full so they could not come back on me with outrageous administrative feesand interest rates.I hope I have provided the proper documentationThis business owner has lied to the Revdex.com inevery statement he has madeI cannot overstate my concerns he will do this to another homeowner.Thank you,

From: Buddy Ballard [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 1:PMTo: [email protected]: Complaint ID 11683394I had neglected to attach all of the correspondences, our estimates and invoices, as well as the copy of our signed contract with Ms*** regarding her bathroom and utility room remodel If you will notate in your records that there was no mention of installation of a venting fan in either the bathroom or utility room and the original measurements were for a corner pre-fabricated shower and standard tubThis customer changed it to a jacuzzi tub and custom shower I also want to add that approximately $1,had already been taken off of the original invoices in addition to all of our fees waived We are a very up front kind of business and do not hide our fees from our customers This customer has now threatened legal action against our company, just another threat in a long line of threats from this customer.Best Regards,Erica AB*** ***Buddy's Home Improvements, LLC###-###-####

I am rejecting this response because:I have tried uploading my emails without success, is there any way that I can forward tho you or fax copies of them What the business owner said is completely false First I never threatened to withhold payment, he threatened me to put a lien on our home if I did not pay in full, he stated the job was complete while a worker was still here, I have this in an email which I have been trying desperately to upload I have all emails and text messages with this person from day one of this transactionI never called his project manager except for time when my husband and I arrived home after they had left for the day, we had no water, they had forgotten to turn our water on, I had no water to bathe in for work the next day As far as me being drunk as a fish everyday is outrageous and defamatory, it is my home and I can drink a beer is my business, I believe this was an issue because they are recovering alcohol and drug abusers, which I did not not until talking to one of the workers I have never threatened this company or any of its employees I have tried very hard to be pleasant, which the emails prove About having a layout and plans, I was never advised of having plans, they were never even mentioned, I met with his project manager many times, he was in my home, went to *** together, he ordered the wrong shower, he mis measured the bath with the shower and vanity, so the layout had to be completely changed My tub was to be centered under my big double windows, but because of his wrong measuring my tub is now way off center of my tub If allowed the chance I will find out how to get you all of the pictures, emails and text messages, I even have video I documented every step of this project It has been one disaster after another The drains under my sink leaked for weeks, the person he had working changed them out times, the drywall under my sink is hideous They vented my sewer into my laundry room wall and my husband spoke to the owner and what he said my husband said is a total lie My husband has owned this house since and we have never had sewer venting issues I have never requested my money back, we wrote him a check on full so we could not be charged any late fees and decided we would handle this through the courts if necessary I found out today the cause for the most recent cause of the sewer fumes is there is no trap in the bathtub drains, there is no vent so all the fumes just come into the bathtub I spoke with a plumber today and they are coming tomorrow to do a complete inspection of the work this company did and to place a trap in the drains And when I researched this company and spoke to them one of my questions was if they had a licensed plumber and they said yes, that "plumber was here for days and quit the company, he hooked up my washer times before he got it not to lead, they flooded the unfinished bathroom floor, I can go on and on it is not even funny For them to say these things is appalling I am going to send them a bill for the work that is being performed tomorrow, and if they do not pay it I am filing a small claim against them in the amount of $ I hope to have the opportunity to present all of my evidence
I have uploaded the original contract where it states install new tub and properly installed would include a trap in the drains

The statement that says this customer never threatened to withhold payment is false. She said on many occasions that she will wait for the days written in the contract to be up and then give us payment. We replied letting her know that if payment wasn’t received within calendar days from the invoice date, we would put a lien on her residence. The reason our company still had work to be done was because of a defect with one of her faucets that she ordered. We clearly couldn’t install faulty sink parts. I have already attached a copy of our contract with this customer and there isn’t any listing or notation of installing a tub trap. As was stated in a previous message, the measurements for the tub and shower were for a pre-fabricated shower and standard tub. When this customer decided to have a Jacuzzi tub and custom shower installed in place of the standard tub and pre-fab shower, measurements were off. In order for the parts for the Jacuzzi tub to be properly installed, the tub needed to be moved (hence the off-centering) to accommodate the change. When our project manager first met with this customer, it was suggested that plans or drawings for a layout be made prior to beginning construction. She stated that she wasn’t good at doing that, so our project manager did a rough sketch (as told to this customer) of where things would go. I have included a copy of this rough sketch. We strive to give those in recovery a chance to get back on their feetIt wouldn’t be right if we advertised this to all of our customers. We know each of our recovering subcontractor’s personally outside of doing business with them, we do not just accept anyone right off the street. Our subcontractor’s are trying to start new, not drag the past with them. If seeing her drinking, whether it’s one beer as she claims or multiple, and it causes problems within the job, she should have respectfully waited until all workers had left her residence. Our company has been more than cooperative and willing to work with this customer. However, despite the $1,that we already took off of her bill, she still filed a complaint with Revdex.com and requested (through Revdex.com) a $2,refund and this is where the request of refund came into play in our original response. Our project manager spoke with this customer on 8/31/and offered to send a licensed plumber out to install a trap on the tub. She told him that she would have to speak to her husband, but now apparently has her own plumber scheduled to come out. We will pay for the trap to be installed, but as for any other “issues”, it will be her responsibility to cover. The original complaint was over sewer fumes and she was informed of what that was from. We have offered a solution in the form of payment to the plumber to install the trap. We have completed all of the items listed within our estimate, invoices and contract and any extra services that were spoken of, were not written down and signed into agreement. As for our records, the construction job has been completed, payment has been made in full and the account has been settled

This customer has been terrible to deal with She threatened to withhold payment for days, stating that she had that much time to pay us Every evening she would become a drunken mess and contact our project manager or email our company This person quit her well paying job and
was on the job site every day as a drunk as a fish in water I have many correspondences with this customer and not one mention about a vent fan until Aug29, A discussion with her husband about the vent fan had occurred PRIOR to the current fane being installed and the customer's husband did not want the fan PROPERLY vented through the roof and therefore has sewage smell entering their residence This customer has threatened our company on many occasions and is why we have asked her never to contact our company again This customer did NOT provide plans for the layout of the new bathroom and DECLINED our recommendations to do so BEFORE any work was begunWe have done all we can to work with this customer and yet she still complains and requests her money be returned It has been a disaster trying to receive payment from this customer in the first place
