Revdex.com received e-mail from consumer, indicating that she was contacted by owner of Budget Autos, and has now received her title

Received call from Tom at Budget Autos, providing business response to complaint. He says that Budget Autos is a little perplexed by the timing and nature of the complaint, as it addressed a number of different issues with the vehicle (including an AC compressor, etc.) to make sure Mr ***
was satisfied with his purchase, though it was an older vehicle purchased without a warranty. Tom says that even as he was dealing directly with Mr ***, he was also communicating with Mr ***'s father, who paid the outstanding balance on the vehicle shortly after this complaint was filed, stating that he felt it was a "very nice car" and perfectly fine, particularly for its age and mileage. He adds that he has not heard from Mr *** or his father since that time, and assumed until receiving this complaint that Mr *** was okay with his purchase

We dealt with the customer for days and finally was able to get her loan approved (loan approval number: ***) on a Cadillac CTS even though she already has repossessions on her credit She came in and gave us a $deposit and all the supporting paperwork
She agreed to purchase the vehicle if we fixed the front brakes As I stated, she gave us $deposit and agreed to pick up the vehicle the next morning after we fixed the brakes We then ordered the brakes and had our mechanic come in after hours to complete the job so the customer could take delivery the following morning as we agreed upon After the brake work was done the customer called and said "she changed her mind" We refunded $of her $which was only the cost of the parts that the customer requested We did not charge her for the labor which we could have

I am rejecting this response because: It was more than the tire pressure I was concerned with. I never signed a title. There was only one key, which I told them I was concerned about because it was a locally purchased vehicle. The sensors areally off. I later noticed on the contract additional fees that were never actually explained to me. The car was listed at 8,000 bUT the contract reads 10,000. So there was almost $2000 extra added on . For what I do not know. He promised to get stuff looked at that I was concerned about and never did anything off it.

It appears Mr. [redacted] wanted to return the 2008 Acura TL to Budget Autos several days to a couple weeks after purchase. He was primarily concerned it seems, with a tire pressure monitor and that in the future he believed a timing belt would need to be replaced.  He talks of the Budget Autos...

"Guarantee".  We do offer a free "Limited 5day/250 mile Powertrain Warranty".  That warranty reads as follows; "This warranty covers all internally lubricated, moving parts in the engine and transmission.  This guarantee provides protection against [Disabling Failure] by those internally lubricated parts, for up to 5 days or 250 miles which ever comes first."  Continuing,  "Transmission and engine are the only warrantied assemblies.  No guarantees are promised for any electronics, fuel delivery systems, gaskets/seals or any other mechanical or electronic system." The car was not disabled due to any issue as it was still being driven weeks after the sale.  Mr. [redacted] had an opportunity to drive the vehicle before purchasing and saw no issues that discouraged his purchase.  As well we allow pre-purchase inspections to be performed if the customer chooses. We at Budget Autos hope the Acura continues to perform well for Mr. [redacted] and that he will get many years of service from this car.Sincerely,Budget Autos

The customer did purchase a 2007 Jeep Patriot with 159K miles from us.  He paid $6000 plus fees.  The NADA retail bank value was $7150. Hence it was bought $1150 below book value.  NADA is the official source used by all lenders and banks to determine value. We did inform the...

buyer of specific replacement parts we had installed to address suspension needs, due to normal wear and tear.  We showed receipts for parts we replaced.  The customer test drove and liked the vehicle and made the purchase.  We do permit and endorse pre-purchase inspections, however the customer did not have one performed.  The vehicle was purchased As-Is and is verifiable by the customer signed Buyer's Guide, which is required of Dealers by The State of Minnesota.  No further parts or repairs were promised.I next heard from the customer after several days to one week.  He said he had taken the vehicle to a repair facility and was told they recommended other suspension repairs.  He asked if we were going to take care of that and we declined.  We did not inspect nor did we make any repairs after the sale.  Although it was taken as reported earlier to another facility were inspections were performed. Finally, the customer contacted us almost 3 weeks after the purchase and claimed a wheel had come off and caused damage to the vehicle and he would like to return the vehicle.  We are not interested in receiving this vehicle back in a damaged state.  He also suggested that we pay for damages and a set of new tires, to which we also declined.  We are sad to hear of the damage to the car, however after almost 3 weeks in his possession, having been in another repair facility and damages from unknown causes; anywhere from vandalism, pranks, careless driving or failure on the part of the other repair facility.  Unfortunately, we are unable to reimburse the customer for any damages sustained by the vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because: I have a voice mail saying the car was safe and in good working order.  This was not a Craigslist sale.  He is a dealer, and needs to put a safe car on the road. Why should I take it to be inspected??  He shows me a list of parts replaced, he doesn't tell me what part still needed to be replaced. Also  Tires where the steel belts a coming out is not SAFE!!!The other dealer had no reason to touch or remove the back wheel.  The Jeep was driven less than 200 miles.  It is Budget Auto that did not tighten the back lug nuts!!It took 3 weeks to fax the information over because we did not know the amount of the damages.  I left voice mails the day after it happened and the calls were not returned.  I finally set a fax with the problems.  An as is car should include tight lug nuts on the back end!!!   Also KKB list the car at $4000.  Not the 7K he claims!
