Budget Blinds

Through the Budget Blinds website we were directed to Edward, one the Budget Blinds franchisees. He presented swatches for us to select blind types and fabrics. We suggested Roman Shades. He supported that choice with the caveat it may stick out a bit from the window. Weeks later once manufactured, he came to install the shades. We were dissatisfied with the quality of the shades and the install - issues included edging of blinds (rough look), mechanism sticks out more than two inches from wall, it is not covered and you can see the metal tan mechanism which does not match any of our colors, there are holes in the black out shades where the backing attaches, the pull up string for the bathroom is in the right center of the shade. None of these details were explained to us prior to manufacture.

We had him come out to review with his manufacturer. The manufacturer took pictures of the holes in the blackout shades and was going back to the manufacturer to review. They thought they could cover the metal mechanism, with a valance but it will be a big box at the top of the shade that we think will be an eyesore (but we will try one first to see).

Then one of the shades broke. Edward came out to try and fix it but ordered a replacement. We asked to instead switch out both shades, as these are the ones with the holes in the backing. He refused even though we were still waiting for word back from the manufacturer.

We will end up replacing the blinds. We are dissatisfied with the product, the remediation options and Edward's terse tone and responses to us. We don't expect a full refund as they are custom blinds, but a credit to find alternatives would be a start.

Needless to say, he will not be recommended and we would write a google review, but his franchise is nowhere to be found on the web.
