Hello *** ***,I am responding to the Budget employees's remarks about my complaint that I made against Budget Car rentalsThe complaint number is # ***.Unfortunately the response from the Budget employee was incomplete and full of mis-statements and lies that should be addressed by me.The agent (he) never informed me about anything in regards to the car rental except that the final charge he would charge my "Credit Card" the day of the rental was $for the day rental HE DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ANY $DOLLAR TEMOPRARY DEPOSIT THAT WOULD BE CHARGED TO MY CREDIT CARD!I had been a previous customer of this Budget office and I did not have this same problem before even though I used the same "Credit Card" for the previous rentalI used that rental car to drive to *** and pick up my wife plus daughter at the airport before going shopping and buying dinner plus using the same credit cardI also paid for all gas costs on the same card without any problems so I do not understand why there was a problem with this latest encounter except that at the time of this recent rental my credit limit was exhausted at the end of the day due to the extra $charge that the Budget employee put on my credit card without informing me about this added "temporary" charge So I could not use the card to pay for my Wedding Night dinner that I had with my wife and daughter later that daySo this was a big problem for me!The agent wants to blame the type of "Credit Card" that I used for this transaction as the cause of the problem as if he knows the type of "Credit Card" that I have with my bankTo make matters worse he says that both he and his manager feel that I "do not understand my card's restrictions"Well those "Geniuses" at Budget over here in Glenwood Springs should know that understanding credit cards and how they function is not rocket scienceAnd anybody with half of a brain knows that the limits a person has on their credit card varies from each individual's economic standing but all of the cards that are labeled "Credit Cards" are credit cards and they function as all credit cards should do irregardless as to a persons credit limit! I have a credit card that is not in any way a secured debit card nor any other device that has any abrestrictions on it and this was the card which I used on this transactionI cannot believe that this individual wants to tell me what kind of credit card that I have in my wallet and incinuate that I do not know about its functions! My credit card bank is a completely separate bank than the bank with which I use for my savings and checking accountsI have a debit card attached to both of these accounts but I did not use my debit card for this transaction! So I want it noted that there was not any error on my end with this unannounced charge that was charged to my credit card during the time of the car rental due to any “lack of understanding on my part about any possible credit restrictions on my credit card” as was stated by the Budget agent.By the way, for his information, I do not bank with Bank of America and I did not use any type of debit card nor restricted credit card for this transactionThe Budget office here in Glenwood Springs has a big sign on their counter which only talks about a surcharge being applied to any rental agreement that was paid for with a debit cardSo this is why I asked the agent specifically "What will be the final charge on my "Credit Card"? For the day and he replied that today he would charge my credit card "$for the day rental” he did not say anything about any $charge! In regards to being late returning the rental carThe facts are that I walked into their office at 11:am on Jan22, which was less than hours after I picked up the carI picked up the car at 11:on Jan21, 2105.Also the Budget agent says that they ran a credit check on my credit cardsWell my credit score at the time of this incident was *** and I can verify this fact!I am not some it who says things that I cannot back up with proof! But those bright individuals at the Glenwood Springs Budget Rent A Car think that they can do things which affects someone's credit and messes with the day that that someone has with the rental car and yet not be held accountable when they do not provide all of the correct information to the renting party, well if I have to I will write about my experience to the local news papers and other online websites so others will know about their poor service!By the way I just rented a car from *** *** * *** days ago and they informed me at the time of signing the contract that they would be putting a $hold on my Credit Card during the time of the rental and after the car is returned they would refund my card this charge before finally charging my card the total amount that I owed them for the day rentalThey were professionals and I did not have any suprises during the time of my car rental with them!Regards,*** ***

B) That all debit cards have a deposit/hold of $200.00 held as a "pending charge" until the contract is closed. This is standard procedure for any card that has a bank symbol on it as we have had individuals ask to "run card as credit not debit." This is a function our system does not allow for. Mr. [redacted] had, I believe a [redacted], and this card is actually attached to a bank account in many cases and performs as a credit card but within our system functions as a debit card because it has limits on funds equal to what is in a users account. At the time of check out Mr. [redacted] assured me that his card was exclusively a credit card. At the time of his return with the car the next day is when he informed us that the hold was placed on his card. He was verbally nasty to my co-worker and used profane language. We apologized to him for any problems and again explained the situation. We credited him time off because he was over due by more  03/18/2015 14:19 FAX [redacted]03/16/2015 15:52 FAX 970 [redacted]than an hour as a customer service. I also told him I would reach out to our Territorial Performance Manager to see if the was a change we had not been informed of for 2015. However Mr. [redacted] left our office before I was able to reach our manager. When I did speak with the manager he told me there had been no policy change. Mr. [redacted] had, I believe a [redacted], and while this card is is issued by a separate provider it is actually still attached to a bank account and within our system functions as a debit card because it has limits on funds equal to what is in a users account. My managers feeling, as well as mine, is that Mr. [redacted] does not fully understand his card's restrictions. We acted in good conscious as a business with Mr. [redacted] at all times and attempted to clarify the matter but he left before we could conclude the conversation. Your letter of March 9 was the only time we have been notified of further complaint from the customer. Thank you [redacted] Rental Agent: [redacted] [redacted]
