Review: I regret nothing more this summer than naively entrusting "Affordable Softwash Solutions" with powerwashing/sealing my deck. I've found the company name to be misleading and would strongly discourage use of this service. Aggressive "softwash," not "affordable" bc damage requiring repair, no "solution" from company.During powerwashing, I repeatedly raised concerns, incl excess water pressure, nozzle being too close to entire deck, and spray being too focused. Since the workers ignored my concerns, I called the company, which said that wash-related damage would be immediately apparent. Without actually being there, the owner (Richard B[redacted]) tried to tell me that the nozzle had been only a few inches away only in isolated areas with more residual stain; I informed him this had been done to almost my whole deck. As my deck was drying, I reported to the office mgr that AM that the deck was "fuzzy and splintered," then sent a followup email at end of day. Bond did not respond for two days, with excuses about his business/family and suggested he could "stop by later that day." I responded immediately (expecting confirmation of his visit), only to receive no response. Two days later, Bond simply showed up at my house and admitted that he would have inspected my deck if I hadn't been home. Even after I repeatedly taught him that this would have been trespassing, he's refused to apologize for providing no courtesy notice. When B[redacted] finally visited my deck, he wiped excess splinters off a small portion of rail then left, without actually addressing my substantive concerns that the deck surface was diffusely altered by overly aggressive "softwashing." He tried only to cite my pre-existing concern about specific/isolated portions of my deck, which his workers advised me didn't need repair.B[redacted] has offered no corrective action and has been completely nonresponsive to multiple followup emails. Another company advised that my deck was "improperly washed" and is "moderately damaged."Desired Settlement: B[redacted] should pay, at minimum, for costs of deck restoration and sealing.
