Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/06/08) */
We sold him this vehicle for $and he put $downHe has been making payments on the vehicle every monthI am not sure what he is talking about hereNone of this ever happened he came back and the transmission was leaking and my
gentleman put a new seal on there for him fixing the leakHe only put $down and making a $dollar payment every month since thenLast month he only paid $instead of $It doesn't seem he is putting all the truth out thereRight now he still owes $left on the vehicleThere is no *** *** here, there is a *** ***

I purchased a 2005 Suburban and in 1 month from the purchase I had to have the Breaks replaced. The break pads were worn down to nothing... Metal on Metal. When the breaks were replaced it was found that JB Weld had been used on the pins and I needed new Roters.Product_Or_Service: Breaks, pads and rotersDesired SettlementI believe the dealer should have owned up to selling inadaquit breaks on this vehicle and pay for the replacement. Had I known the breaks were bad I would not have made the purchase with out the breaks being replaced first.Business Response When [redacted] took the Suburban on a test drive she did not mention anything to anybody at Budget Motors about the brakes needing service. The due bill mentions nothing about brakes or anything about a brake service. [redacted] had offered [redacted] to have the brake pads and rotors done at his cost here at Budget Motors. The estimate would have been approximately $300-350. [redacted] declined and took her Suburban to another establishment, and they charged her around $700. After [redacted] had her brakes done by the other establishment she came to Budget Motors and talked to [redacted] (Owner). [redacted] offered to pay, out of his own pocket, $300. [redacted] refused the $300 and wanted $400. [redacted] declined. The brakes were not JB Welded, the rotors were not JB welded, nor were the brake calipers JB Welded. we tried to meet [redacted] in the middle but she refused. We will not refund [redacted] any amount. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I wouldnot drive the vehicle away from the shop in the state they were in. Budget offered after the new breaks they could have done them cheeper. I called there estableshment before the break job was started and was blown off. Again I wouldnot have purchased from them given their inability to stand behind any quality inspection.Final Business Response We inspected the brakes, as we do on all of our cars, and we found the brakes on [redacted]'s above average. [redacted] test drove the vehicle and there were no brake problems. We would have gladly changed the brake pads and we would have fixed any other brake problem at a considerable discount to [redacted]. We here at Budget Motors do not try to be unethical in any form or fashion. But [redacted]'s desired outcome is unreasonable and we consider this matter closed.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)If they at Budget were ethical they would not be dealing in this manner. I did not ask for any thing unreasonable. They at budget motors did a "visual inspection" and had that been the fact they would have know the Brake pads were not Above or close to average they were not there....Worn to nothing and causing the roters to have drag marks from the lack of pad. This is not a closed matter until they compensate me for the brake replacement that should have happened before the car was"in Great Shape" and sold to me with faulty brakes.

Dealer sold car with fuel line in place of transmission cooler hose. Within 20 days this fuel line was eaten through, failed, and allowed transmission fluid escape, catastrophically damaging the transmission, and leaving female driver stranded along [redacted] highway at night. While the car was sold as is, dealer provided DMV required mechanical check sheet stating car was is good repair and has no visible problems. The wrong hose was visible to a trained eye. Car was taken to transmission shop for repair as previous contact w/ dealer regarding check engine light coming on within days of sale was brushed aside as non problem and we were provided w/ a blown fuse to show work done. This caused concern regarding future problems, and so, the car was towed to transmission shop, not the dealer.Arrangements were made for repairs totaling nearly $2000, repairs were made to go ahead by myself and parts ordered on Tuesday Oct. 28.On Oct 29, I spoke in person w/ [redacted] who asked for written diagnosis and was provided w/ same by repair shop. He called and said not good enough. After work was complete, [redacted] was provided with work order and after a week was contacted where in he stated that we had already gotten a break on the price of the car so he would make no concession on helping fix the situation. He then stated that his mechanic had arranged the discount price for the replacement transmission and discounted labor w/ the transmission shop, thereby saving us money. Implying we should be satisfied with Budget Motors efforts.I replied by reminding him that the parts order and authorization for repairs were done BEFORE he knew where the car was being repaired!!This conversation quickly concluded by [redacted] stating that Budget Motors was not going to be forthcoming with any further effort to resolve situation amicably.Product_Or_Service: [redacted]Account_Number: Stock number [redacted]Desired SettlementSettlement agreement regarding costs of transmission replacement is sought.Business Response This vehicle was driven, & inspected thoroughly by our certified Mechanic ([redacted]). There were no transmission issues while the vehicle was in our possession. We told [redacted] that if had any issues with the vehicle that he could bring it back to Budget Motors and we would repair the vehicle within reason. When [redacted] took it to a transmission repair center of his choosing, without our knowledge, he took it upon himself to repair the vehicle. Additionally, we heavily discounted the vehicle upon the time of sale. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused [redacted] but we will not refund [redacted] for his transmission repair. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)If this vehicle was indeed inspected thoroughly as claimed, by a certified mechanic, one would expect the fact that fuel line was used in place of transmission cooler hose would have been obvious to this trained eye.Of course there was no transmission issue while in their possession!! Not until this incorrect hose failed, draining the fluid from the transmission and causing the destruction of the transmission. You did not "heavily discount" the vehicle, you negotiated a deal. Big difference. This was not an "inconvenience", this was endangerment. These men KNEW this vehicle was being sold as transportation for a teenage girl. [redacted] took the cash from her hands!! She was then left alone on the side of Pyramid highway in the middle of the night when this "inspected" incorrect hose failed. But, hey, they got it "over the curb", as they say, a sale no matter what. They pocketed the cash without any regard for their customer's welfare. This is unconscionable business practice and must be rectified.Final Business Response If [redacted] brought the vehicle to us in the first place we could have come to an agreement, but [redacted] took it upon himself to take it to a transmission repair center of his choosing without our knowledge. We have been in business for over twenty years and have sold this community tens of thousands of cars. To say that we "pocketed the cash without any regard for their customer's welfare" is untrue and insulting. This matter is closed. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)No, it's not.

Fred, at Budget Motors on Kietzke lane, Reno. Told me: "I'm sorry but I don't sell cars to people who don't shake hands", and refused to sell me a car. When he came to shake hands with a Muslim woman who was accompanying me, wearing a scarf and she couldn't shake hands because of her religious belief. Altho she greeted him and smiled. He left us outside and went inside, and didn't let any other salesmen assist us so we left.
I felt extra sad because Fred himself comes from a minority in Iraq that me and my family support and post about their struggle every day in social media, and because he knows about these cultures from his home country, yet acted that way, and because I met him recently and really liked him and thought he was cool. I personally may not agree about how the lady reacted, but in USA I learnt to respect people's religious beliefs even if I didn't find them reasonable. We always get respect and courtesy when we encounter that with US born people, yet it happened with someone who is aware of our cultures, yet discriminated against us. Also, I was the one buying the car not she. I also gave him benefit of the doubt and called later hoping it wouldn't be an issue and maybe he'd realize it wasn't the best reaction from his side, and just tried to inquire about that car I was interested in, but he never called me back.","neg-1

From a used vehicle purchased from Budget Motors on January 18th 2014, I have received the following repair quotes due to issues that I believe the dealer should have had knowledge of prior to the sale but did not acknowledge: $1620: Failed Cylinder Firing and need to replace cylinder head and/or valves. $870: To repair rear axle seal and damage to brakes caused by leaking seal. $864: To replace Steering Rack system. $465: To replace transmission line. These issues were originally identified March 17th by [redacted] in [redacted]. I brought the issues to Budget Motors' attention and the owner advised me that he would not consider reimbursing me for the repairs unless I brought the car to a repair shop in Reno that he worked with. I did as he requested and the shop in Reno advised me that the above issues were present on this vehicle. Upon notifying him that these repairs were needed, the owner of Budget advised me that he had no liability to repair or reimburse because he had no knowledge of these issues at the time of sale. I believe some or all of these to be long term issues with this vehicle which were not acknowledged, either purposefully or negligently, by the dealer.Product_Or_Service: Dodge DurangoAccount_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementMy request is to have the dealer be required to reimburse the costs associated with these repairs. Note that the repairs have not yet been completed, so final costs are not yet available. Business Response Referring to the Used Vehicle Inspection Sheet (Form #VIS01) all the items [redacted] claim are wrong with vehicle were marked satisfactory on the inspection sheet. That inspection sheet is signed and dated by [redacted] on 01/18/2014. The buyers guide for [redacted] is marked "As Is - No Warranty. YOU WILL PAY ALL COSTS FOR ANY REPAIRS. The dealer assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about this vehicle." The buyers guide is signed and dated by [redacted]. At the time of the sale [redacted] did not purchase any warranty on the vehicle. It is not reasonable for [redacted] to request to have the dealer reimburse the costs associated with the repairs. We are sorry that these problems that the car developed after he drove it back to [redacted]. We have offered him $500 towards his bill at [redacted]. [redacted] estimated the bill at $1700 while [redacted] estimated the repairs to be over $5000. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)In response to Budget's Comments:1. Budget only offered the $500 participation on their behalf after I filed this complaint with the Revdex.com. When I told Budget that the shop in Reno found the same issues as the shop in [redacted], Budget said that they would pay me nothing and it was all of my responsibility. The big issue with that is this: Budget requested that I bring the car to Reno to be assessed for the expressed purpose being that Budget would then decide if they would reimburse me.That is what I was told by the owner of Budget and that is the reason that I gave to the shop in [redacted] why I was taking the car from them and having it assessed in Reno. I was told by the owner of Budget that there was no way that he would consider reimbursing me unless I brought the car to the shop that he works with in Reno. The issues found by the shop in Reno were the same issues I told Budget about. So if I told them about the issues and they said they would consider reimbursing me if the shop in Reno confirmed the issues, then, if the issues are confirmed, and they don't reimburse me, then having me bring the car to Reno was pointless from the beginning. 2. In Budget's response, they state that "all of the issues that [redacted] claim are wrong with the vehicle were marked satisfactory on the inspection sheet". I am not making any claim to the issues in questions, these issues have been confirmed by two separate automotive repair shops. So, the issues in question are factual, I am not making any claim or suggestion that they exist because they are confirmed by the two repair shops. 3. The full quote from the shop in Reno for a valve repair plus all of the issues mentioned in the first comment I made was approx $4K and if we were to do a cylinder replacement, it would be close to $5K from both shops. The shop in Reno did quote $1700 for a valve repair, but also quoted an additional $3300 to repair the other issues and to replace the cylinder head instead of just doing a valve repair. Budget's claim that the shop in Reno quoted $1700 and the shop in [redacted] quoted $5K is not accurate. Both shops quoted close to the same amount to repair the issues. The $5K from [redacted] is for all of the issues, the $1700 from Reno is only for the valve repair, and they quoted an additional $3300 for the other issues. 4. The request for reimbursement is a reasonable request because a reasonable assessment of the issues that have been identified would lead one to believe that they did not arise after I took ownership of the car and that the inspection sheet that I signed was not indicative of a competent or thorough inspection. The shop in [redacted] states that the issues are long term and they supported my decision to take my vehicle out of their shop and follow Budget's suggestion to have it assessed by the shop in Reno if it meant that Budget would consider reimbursing me, which is why I took it to the shop in Reno because Budget wanted to know if the issues were true and because I was told that the only way Budget would consider reimbursing me was if the shop in Reno assessed the vehicle. So, the shop in [redacted] supported this thought process because they see the issues as long-term issues with the vehicle. My point is that Budget did not accurately represent the state of the vehicle in their inspection report and this is confirmed by the shop in [redacted]. Again, if Budget is going to take such a strong stance to the point that this is all of my responsibility, then why did they have me bring the vehicle to Reno for it to be re-evaluated if they did not intend to reimburse me and leave me covering the repairs? 5. Budget is asking the shop in Reno to be a mediator in the situation and decide if the issues were likely present for a long period of time. But this presents a conflict of interest because the shop and Budget do business together on a regular basis and I do not think that the shop would side with me over a long term customer that is Budget. The shop in [redacted] is independent of both Budget and Myself and they see the issues as being in existence for a period of time before I took ownership even to the point where the shop in [redacted] SUPPORTED ME in taking the car from them because they believed that the vehicle has been in need of these repairs for a longer period of time than I have owned the vehicle. The issue there, again, being that the inspection sheet that I signed was not an accurate representation of the state of the vehicle and the "As Is" stipulation is not valid because the state of the vehicle was not accurately reported to me.6. When the issues were brought to Budget's attention, they did not believe in the assessment of the shop in [redacted] and wanted the car re-evaluated by a shop known to them and they would not consider any reimbursement unless I brought the car to the shop that they knew. These issues could have been resolved by the shop in [redacted], but I cooperated with Budget and brought my car to the shop that they requested. In that time, I have incurred over $700 in rental car fees waiting for the shop in Reno to complete the same repairs that would have been done in [redacted] 3 weeks ago, so the $500 that they are offering does nothing to compensate me for the repairs because I'm paying for a rental car every week since bringing it to Reno, and the repairs would have been done for the same price in [redacted] 3 weeks ago. Final Business Response [redacted] bought the car "AS IS" and these problems arose after [redacted] had the vehicle for a lengthy period of time. We tried to extend our hand and offer $500 towards the repairs, but it seems [redacted] wants us to pay the full amount and then some. [redacted] has rejected our offer and thus we are retracting our offer of $500 and this matter is closed.

I purchased a vehicle from Budget Motors at 3155 Kietzke Lane in Reno, Nevada 89502 Phone #775-825-9555 on June 13, 2015. I planned to drive it back to [redacted] and after inspection and test drive all seemed very good with no oil leaks and reasonable power from the engine. I paid cash and was assured this was a fine vehicle and that if anything were to go wrong [redacted] (the owner) would stand behind it and make it right!I made it to [redacted] (236 miles) when the motor lost oil pressure and power! I got into [redacted] and found a certified mechanic and he did graciously do an inspection on Sunday on his own time and determined the motor had been doctored to cover up lower front bearing noise and the fact that the oil pan and timing chain cover had silicone applied and it was oozing out allowing oil leakage. I called [redacted] (The salesman) on Saturday afternoon and he assured me that they would make it right and to have the mechanic look at it and then let him know what the mechanic decided the problem was. I called the dealership on Sunday and talked to [redacted] (The owner), told him the motor was shot and he indicated he would make it right but wanted to check with his mechanic and they would let me know on Monday when businesses were open. Monday AM [redacted] (Budget's General Manager) called and indicated they would make it right and wanted to talk to the Mechanic. They talked and [redacted] asked him to do a repair estimate. He did and about 3:00 PM Monday [redacted] called and informed me that I was on my own they were not going to do anything for me!I tried to contract a car hauler to transport the vehicle back to Ft. Worth but not one of them would stop in [redacted] so I flew back to [redacted], and drove back to [redacted] 1397 miles one way and towed it back.On Interstate 40, 30 miles west of [redacted] the rear wheel came off and was eastbound in westbound traffic. Thank goodness no one was killed! After towing it in that mechanic found the wheels were mounted incorrectly!Product_Or_Service: 1992 Ford BroncoDesired SettlementI would ask for the re-manufactured motor cost only! I would absorb the labor and all other expenses incurred in this fiasco!I would ask that somehow the public be made aware of the unethical business practices that the owner condones as "Business as Usual!" before someone is physically injured or financially ruined! This is a blight on the image of Reno and Sparks, Nevada. Respectfully submitted,[redacted]

The day I purchased the car we discussed the final paperwork I would sign in two days would include warantee. Two days later I noticed cigarette lighter wasn't working so I replaced fuse. That same day the salesman wanted me to complete paperwork and after the fuse was replaced all kinds of lights were flashing mainly a control damping sensor and parking brake malfunction light. I was not inclined to sign paper work at that point till the car was in good working order, as a matter of fact I told them I would be happiest if I just could take my car back as it had no problems. I expressed my concern and I wanted to bring the car back for repair and thought they could just let me drive my trade in back till it was repaired. They informed me at this point not only am I stuck with the problem but I lost my opportunity to buy the warantee. I made an appointment to have it looked at and when I got their they informed me the mechanic wasn't in so they did what they could which was nothing and sent me home with the issue unresolved but they told me they were going to order the part and let me know when it arrives. They never did order the part and acted like I never came in for that initial inspection. After several calls and being blown off they finally told me I lost my opportunity to have it repaired since I never came for my appointment (this was a blatant lie). I expressed that I still wanted the warantee and it seems that would be the most appropriate solution as I did express that from the beginning. Again they told me it was to late to have the warantee now. They finally did scheduleA second visit to try to figure it out. Now I have to go back Monday for a second attempt to find issue, and I will be stuck without a car for several days. They lost my license plates and promised me a second key on my contract but now are telling me it's going to cost extra. This is a huge inconvenience as I live 50 miles away.Product_Or_Service: [redacted] x5iDesired SettlementI'd like the car to be in good working order as it chimes at me constantly when I'm driving. And id like the warantee coverages that I asked for upfront Business Response Ms. [redacted], pulling fuses on any vehicle without knowing what you are doing can be very dangerous and in some cases cause permanent harm to your vehicle. You certainly did want to purchase an extended warranty but you refused to sign that contract after you pulled fuses that probably caused the various malfunctions, as these malfunctions did not show up until after you pulled various fuses. Even after all this we still scheduled an appointment this Thursday (July 23rd, 2015) to help you with these problems, free of charge, and on top of all this you claim we lost your plates. We returned your plates at the point of sale and we did not lose them. We really tried to help you all we could Ms. [redacted], but reading this untrue case description and calling us "blatant liars" is uncalled for and we will not succumb to your desired settlement. This matter is closed. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)From the very beginning I expressed that I wanted to get the warantee and I should be able to. This is something I told these guys day one and just cause I didn't sign the day [redacted] came to Tahoe due to some fuse being out doesn't seem fair that you completely recind this offer especially after I discover electronic issues may be going on. Also whatever I may have done to the car still doesn't warrant for me to not be given a second key as promised in my written contract. I truly find it hard to believe that you were going to look at my car for free yet you spoke of additional charges for a key that was supposed to be included in the sale. I actually don't believe that you were going to do anything for free. Especially if you truely believe I'm the one that messed it up. As you never said that plus you made a point to let me know you would look at the car and let me know what it will need. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This has nothing to do with anything and I would appreciate if you stick with the subject at hand instead of looking for any type of excuse possible. I am still due a second key as promised on my written contract. [redacted] has lied and therefore I stated that. I have not done anything illegal nore out of the ordinary. I simply wanted to be friends with [redacted] however he was the one that wanted to send me half naked pictures which was not what I wanted at all. Now I'd like to address the real issue and that is that you at least give me the second key as promised per my written contract. Final Business Response We gave you a remote key and a valet parking key. They are inside each other. This matter is closed.
