Budget Muffler Shop Reviews (3)

Hello, The re-roofing of your home was completed on 10-14-15. After roofing was completed, we scheduled an appointment outside of our regular hours to do a final walk-through with you on Saturday, 10-31-15. We were sorry and surprised to hear that you were dissatisfied with your
roof as you approved of the work during the final walk-through and billing After receiving your call regarding a leak in August, a technician was scheduled to go out and address the issue which was completed on 08-02-16. At this time, the technician believed the leak was coming from the bottom of the AC flashing so the area around the AC flashings was resealed. You came to our office on the morning of 11-11-to let us know you still had a leak so we sent a supervisor to meet you at 1:00pthat day per your request. When he arrived at your home, nobody was there so he was not able to do anything since the roof had to be water tested. After this, we scheduled another appointment where the supervisor and original estimator went to your home. They water tested the roof and found your AC flashings to have cracks in the sealant and were water lapped incorrectly. At this time, since you were not available, the supervisor showed pictures (some attached), video, and explained to your wife that he temporarily sealed the flashing with silicone and that you needed to have an HVAC contractor go out and correct the duct flashings as it is out of the roofing scope of work. In addition, he explained that the top of the chimney should probably also be fitted with a sheetmetal cap by the HVAC contractor at that time as well. Since we have not been contacted again after several days of rain, we were under the impression that the leak had stopped with the temporary repair completed by our supervisor on 11-17-and you had contacted an HVAC contractor to permanently seal the leaks as advised Joe C*** took a drywall contractor out and met you to see the ceiling damage between the time the first and second service calls were completed. At that time he explained that we would take care of the ceiling repairs under the roofing warranty, however; the leak ended up not being a roofing warranty issue and instead being an HVAC issue rendering the ceiling repair as not covered under the roofing warranty. As a service to try and help, we did not charge for the two service calls (three trips) where we sent someone out to assess and temporarily repair the HVAC flashing leak We hope you can get an HVAC contractor out to address the AC flashing and fireplace chimney sheetmetal cap to prevent future leaks as explained if you have not already done so. Although we do appreciate your patronage, we cannot address the HVAC contractor’s work as it is out of our scope of work and licensing. We feel we have gone beyond fulfilling our contract and warranty duty to you with the free leak assessments. Thank you again

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Dear Chavez Roofing; In response to your recent correspondence dated January 4, 2017, we do not accept the resolution of our original complaint.Attached please find the timeline log of the events and contact made with Chavez Roofing since our re-roof was completed. The original proposal and contract are also attached along with documentation showing a history of workmanship defects. There has been a history of workmanship-related issues to the roof and the specifications in the Shingle Re-Roof proposal and contract have not been performed in compliance with accepted standards of installation and workmanship. There have been multiple occasions of leaks to our re-roof in two separate areas of the house, the living room and the kitchen, since the installation of the re-roof. Both have caused damage to our ceiling. On each occasion the Chavez roofing company has come out to make service calls, inspect or attempt to repair the roof we have had to take leave from employment to meet the technicians. This has caused us to incur additional monetary expenses on six separate occurrences (see Chavez Roofing Time log).As provided by Chavez Roofing, (HVAC flashing 1.jpg), illustrates the workmanship has not been in accordance with the contractual agreement (see contract). Specifically line item #8, which states, “Remove (2) Swamp Coolers, roof under them, and re-install the swamp coolers”.We are very disappointed to learn that the ceiling repairs will not be covered after all, under the terms of the roofing warranty. Our original complaint filed with the Revdex.com resulted in the frustration from the 5 month wait for a drywall contractor to be hired and the rain damage repairs to be completed to the ceiling, as promised by the Chavez Roofing owner, Joe C[redacted] (see Time log and Voicemail Transcript). As lifelong residents of the South Valley, we received several bids on our re-roof project and selected Chavez Roofing based on their 40 years of service in our local community, the recommendations we received from family and friends, and the reputation and integrity we thought that Chavez Roofing represented. It is truly disheartening to learn that the owner, Joe C[redacted] is not a man of his word and despite his promise to make things right has chosen to not honor his promise. We are by no means satisfied with the workmanship and contractual obligation from Chavez Roofing and do not accept the response as resolution. Our ceiling remains damaged and we remain dissatisfied with the Chavez Roofing company warranty.Sincerely,[redacted] and [redacted]PDF with Attachments:Timeline Log of Contact/Events Proposal and ContractContract Proposal and GuaranteeOriginal InvoiceInvoice for RepairsInvoice for Payment in FullVoice Mail TranscriptionPhotos 1-3 – Cracked Damage to Living Room CeilingPhotos 4-5 – Warped Damage to Kitchen Ceiling [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the response. If the consumer does not provide a reason the complaint will be closed Answered]
