Budget Used Car Sales LP Reviews (9)

Mrs [redacted] came to our location September 24, and after negotiations made a deal to trade her vehicle and purchase a Honda Pilot, however this deal had been months in the works with emails from her starting as early as May 18, when she first inquired about this Pilot While at the dealership we consulted NADA as well as actual auction data to come up with an approximate value and then deducted for the repairs the vehicle needed(it had severe noise in the rear end of the vehicle and we made allowances for replacing the rear axle assembly) Several weeks after the purchase Mrs [redacted] did send an email to us complaining mainly about the trade in value assigned to her vehicle We explained the vehicle pricing guides were just that, guides Some vehicles actually bring more on the open market than the guide shows and some bring less There is also a time factor involved, lenders will consult the loan value from the guides and if it takes several months to sell the vehicle after repairs are completed the guide values will change as time goes by, as I noted earlier there was four months between the time Mrs [redacted] started looking at the Pilot and the guide value had changed on that one as well As far as the the vehicle showing to have Bluetooth when in fact it did not, that was an error made by a third party company that does the vehicle photos to go on the website and list the features each vehicle has, a deduction in price was made at the time of sale to counter act the deficiency of the Bluetooth capability, we deducted $for the Bluetooth We got this amount by calling Best Buy and getting a quote for installing Bluetooth in the vehicle We have addressed this with the third party company and told them how important accuracy is in efforts to make sure that equipment listed on the vehicle is listed correctly, however deduction for the error was made at the time of sale Mrs [redacted] made note she was trying to lessen her payment of $per month that she was paying on her vehicle at the time, Budget had no involvement in the procuring of financing for her and didn't know what her payment was, she went through her credit union that had the other vehicle financed for her Mrs [redacted] purchased a service contract at the time of purchase which she has requested be cancelled, that has been done and a cashier check sent to her credit union Budget Used Car Sales feels that this was a fair and equitable trade for all parties involved and this claim is baseless After responding to the first email Mrs [redacted] sent, we did request for any further communication to be through Revdex.com

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Budget Used Car Sales from the first time I contacted them for lack of information on their website has been a struggle for me to get accurate information due to lack of pictures, errors on descriptions - color & bluetooth and other errors on paperwork which leads me to believe there were errors in their calculation of the value of the Toyota RA Budget Used Car Sales has not ever seemed cooperative in resolving this issue - only clouding it with misdirectionI say fool me once shame on me - fool me twice shame on you Budget Used Car Sales! You would not have tried to make this deal with a man, but to an old lady it is suppose to be "a fair and equitable trade for all parties involved" and I am to suffer the loss without protest Regards, [redacted] ***

We regret to hear that Ms. [redacted] does not agree that our response was
acceptable, however the fact remains that this was a fair and equitable
trade for everyone involved.  We used the information available to us
along with auction results and deducted the amount we estimated for
repairs. We do acknowledge the fact that in the previous response the
wrong lien-holder was listed as providing the financing for the trade,
however all that was being pointed out was that we had nothing to do
with the payment amount of the new loan and never knew of the payment
amount of the existing loan.  We have agreed there was an error about
the bluetooth and have worked with the company that prepares the window
stickers to make sure the information they provide is accurate, however
this was taken care of monetarily at the time of the sale by a reduction in the sales price.  Again the
value guide books are a guide only and do not guarantee any amounts for
trade in or retail sale, the market value of the vehicle may be quite
different depending on many factors including time of year (next years
model coming out), dealer incentives (large amounts of rebates on new
ones that make the new vehicles more attractive for financing compared
to a used one), etc.

Mrs. [redacted] came to our location September 24, 2014 and after negotiations made a deal to trade her vehicle and purchase a 2007 Honda Pilot, however this deal had been months in the works with emails from her starting as early as May 18, 2014 when she first inquired about this Pilot.  While at...

the dealership we consulted NADA as well as actual auction data to come up with an approximate value and then deducted for the repairs the vehicle needed(it had severe noise in the rear end of the vehicle and we made allowances for replacing the rear axle assembly).  Several weeks after the purchase Mrs. [redacted] did send an email to us complaining mainly about the trade in value assigned to her vehicle.  We explained the vehicle pricing guides were just that, guides.  Some vehicles actually bring more on the open market than the guide shows and some bring less.  There is also a time factor involved, lenders will consult the loan value from the guides and if it takes several months to sell the vehicle after repairs are completed the guide values will change as time goes by, as I noted earlier there was four months between the time Mrs. [redacted] started looking at the Pilot and the guide value had changed on that one as well.
As far as the the vehicle showing to have Bluetooth when in fact it did not, that was an error made by a third party company that does the vehicle photos to go on the website and list the features each vehicle has, a deduction in price was made at the time of sale to counter act the deficiency of the Bluetooth capability, we deducted $400 for the Bluetooth.  We got this amount by calling Best Buy and getting a quote for installing Bluetooth in the vehicle.  We have addressed this with the third party company and told them how important accuracy is in efforts to make sure that equipment listed on the vehicle is listed correctly, however deduction for the error was made at the time of sale.
Mrs. [redacted] made note she was trying to lessen her payment of $498 per month that she was paying on her vehicle at the time, Budget had no involvement in the procuring of financing for her and didn't know what her payment was, she went through her credit union that had the other vehicle financed for her.
Mrs. [redacted] purchased a service contract at the time of purchase which she has requested be cancelled, that has been done and a cashier check sent to her credit union.
Budget Used Car Sales feels that this was a fair and equitable trade for all parties involved and this claim is baseless.  After responding to the first email Mrs. [redacted] sent, we did request for any further communication to be through Revdex.com.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I find Budget Used Cars Sales response convoluted and confusing, also they have several errors. First off I am not a Mrs. Second the only reason I mentioned reducing my payments was to stress my need for a fair & honest deal - you erroneously stated the Toyota RAV4 was financed thru my credited union it was financed thru Toyota by Wells Fargo Dealer Services who you called to get the pay off if you check your records.
For whatever reason and I don't see the bearing on my claim you mentioned I purchased a "service contract" and cancelled it. That is also erroneous it was a GWC Warranty I cancelled. FYI - although my credit union has not received payment, [redacted] sent me a copy of the check and on the Cancellation Refund Summary and the which I received today. Thank you. FYI envelope City was given as [redacted] which is incorrect. [redacted] is two words.
Thru Auto Trader in May I found several cars to check out one being Budget Used Cars Sales and went to their site to find no pictures and outside color as purple and had Blue Tooth listed although a 2007 Pilot had no Blue Tooth option so I made an inquiry for pictures by e-mail and phone. Pictures were sent and verbal confirmation by phone it had Blue Tooth which apparently was just from reading off their posting provided by a third party and not looking to see. I suspended all car quests due to my 95 year old Dad who uses a walker breaking his right arm and later on the death of my nephew. So second I would not call it " in the works". It was in September when I finally checked to see if the Pilot was still available and made the appointment for the 24th. When I complained to you on trade value of the RAV 4 you cited that you used the NADA guidelines - so then 10/22/14 I printed out and used for the complaint filed on Revdex.com. I also faxed you a copy printed from NADA site. I can't believe they changed that drastically in less than a month. Since I want to resolve this as simply as possible yesterday I talked to [redacted] Assistant Service Manager at Fort [redacted]d Toyota where the recall service was performed on RAV 4 and asked the cost of replacing both rear end axles and that was $1600. My suggestion is you check prove the 9/24/14 figures you came up with the $12,500 value or refund which to me is really to low the NADA Rough Trade-In value $15,550 less $12,500 trade in value less Toyota Dealer price replace both rear axles $1,600 which is only $1,450.
