Mr. [redacted] was contacted by our Business Development Team, to Consign his truck to our company for Sale. We sent, via email, a checklist that laid out the condition and criteria his truck must meet in order to be consigned into one of our showrooms. Included in this list is the...
requirement that "the vehicle must not have any rust issues." We also advised the cus[redacted]er during phone conversations, prior to him shipping the truck, of the same policy. Mr. [redacted] assured us that there were no rust issues. When the truck arrived at our showroom, an inspection was performed by our staff. The inspection revealed a significant amount of rust under the truck including areas that were completely rusted through. The cus[redacted]er was contacted and told that his truck did not meet our condition standards. Mr. [redacted] called me the next day and asked me to pay for the cost of his shipping to our showroom. I told him that we had went over the condition criteria prior to him shipping the truck, and because the truck did not meet our condition standards, we could not keep it. I also advised him that we could not pay for the shipping as this was his responsibility and cost. At that time he said he was going to contact his lawyer and the conversation ended. We are the largest classic and exotic car Consignment Sales Company in the US with 9-showrooms throughout the US. We only accept and consign good to excellent quality cars for Sale.
