As the days go by
Well my truck has been at their shop for almost a month and a half... quick they are not I'm thinking they should rename there business to SLUGS garage

Best Automotive Shop in the Northstate!
We moved to Redding in 2010. We honestly thought we would never find a decent honest affordable automotive garage ( terrible service, shocking prices everywhere we’d go) UNTIL we were told to go to Buds Auto Repair in Palo Cedro. We have several older rigs from 1994 to 2006. We are blown away each time by the EFFICIENCY and the AMAZING AFFORDABLE repair we get at Bud’s. They always have a dozen or so rigs awaiting repair, and they get us in and out within a few days every time. So knowledgeable and a third to a half cheaper than other places. We have friends who come all the way from Mt. Shasta to get their rigs repaired. Rob and Dustin are in a class all their own with their knowledge and customer service. Bud’s is the go to garage for the homeschool community. So very grateful for all the amazing care we have gotten through the years. Only Bud’s. They make us feel like family. The Overstreet’s

special tool for installing a insert and that we could do the repair. Two weeks later he called to inquire if we could remove the insert tool (that he had purchased on the internet). Ge has used it improperly and threaded it too far into the head. He could not remove it wanted to know id we could not remove it. I told the heads would have to be removed to get it out. On August 22, 2014 the vehicle in question was towed into business. He was given a written estimate (see attached estimate) R&R cylinder heads to remove the insert tool and have a machine shop install new inserts. He approved the estimate via phone on August 22, 2014. We did the repairs that were agreed upon as did the machine shop, Arden's Auto Machine shop (see attached letter.) The cams, lifters and the valves were never removed from his cylinder heads by neither my business or the machine shop. On June 15, 2015 he called about a ticking noise is his car and asked if we could listen to it. We had the car for three days and did not hear any noise. Advised him to drive it.On approximately September 8, 2015 he called again to schedule a appointment to have us listen to the ticking noise he was hearing. His appointment was for Wednesday, September 16, 2015. The car did not arrive until September 18, 2015. This time we could hear the ticking noise by listening with a ultra sonic hearing device. It was determi ned a lifter on the number three cylinder was making the noise. I informed him it would be $788.00 to replace all the lifters on that side. It is a good idea to replace all when you are replacing one. Upon explaining to him detail that the lifter was bad and had nothing to do with the repair that we did originally, he became belligerent. He insisted we pay for the repair. After I told him that I wouldn't pay for the repair, explaining again that it had nothing to do what we did originally, he became increasingly more belligerent. I told him at that time it would be best if he picked up his vehicle. I told him I would no longer work on his vehicles. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Review: Bud's Garage removed and performed machine work on the engine heads of my car. This repair cost in excess of $2,800 USD. Before the first oil change the engine began making a knocking sound. I towed the car to the shop immediately and the following morning the shop called to inform me that the sound had suddenly stopped and I should drive the car. Within 1 month I changed the oil and discovered metal shavings in my oil pan and the knocking sound had started again. I towed the car to the shop again. This time Rob informed me that it would cost an additional $800 to repair to the engine heads and he would accept no liability for the additional expense and insisted that I pick up the car today and take it to another shop unless I wanted to pay.Desired Settlement: Prior to this incident I would have liked to have the shop perform the repair. Now I do not to believe they can be trusted to do so. I would like the cost of the repair ($800 as quoted by Rob on 18 Sept. 2015) refunded from my initial repair cost of $2,800 in order to repair the vehicle at another business.
