Review: We hired [redacted] to lay our stacked stone fireplace. After many delays, with varying excuses, the job began, about 2 weeks late. The stonework he laid is not level (7/8" off from right to left). The corner pieces were installed improperly, leaving many large, open, visible gaps, which [redacted] wanted to fill with mortar. There is a 1.5" gap under the mantel which was never finished at all. [redacted] left a mess for my husband and I to clean up, including scratches and dents in our newly installed fireplace mantel and scratches and dents in our wood floors. [redacted] never returned to finish the job or rectify any of the above issues, as there were only more excuses about why he couldn't return. We have been forced to hire another Stone Mason to demolish his shoddily installed work and rebuild the whole fireplace, with new stone, properly. This is adding additional cost of almost $2,000.00 this project.We are completely disappointed in [redacted] work ethic, his follow through and competency.Desired Settlement: We only desire the amount we paid [redacted] to install the stone and to reimburse us for the additional stone required to repair his damage.
