Buena Park Honda Reviews (13)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below You state that there is a visual inspection done at the time of reconditioning I assume this means the time between the trade in and the time of the sale to the next consumer If that is the case then entities dropped the ball In my opinion, what happened here is, you took a truck in on a trade and later noticed that it is a straight pipe from the exhaust manifold back to the muffler In my very basic research since the problem occurred, I have found this to be a common practice amongst some diesel owners Knowing that this is an expensive fix, upwards of $1500-$2000, you found a company that would smog it knowing that in two years the next owner would have to prove that it wasn't on there when it was purchased For other consumers that are reading this review, a diesel motor smog consist of purely visual exams A probe is not put in the exhaust pipe for a computer to measure gas levels That means the smog is only as good as the smog techs morals Now if I'm the owner of a smog shop that a dealership brings all their cars to, am I going to fail a truck to which the dealership will be out a significant amount of money, so they decide not to keep coming to me You said it best in your reply to me, the dealership is a big client The risk to reward for the smog shop is a small Now the next consumer (me) is stuck with a $1500-$problem that I now have to attempt to prove was there when the purchase was made If that in fact did happen, then I agree that the dealership would not be responsible The smog shop should be That is if it was their conscious decision However if it was influenced at all by the dealership, leveraging it being such a big client, then I do feel the dealership is to blame Ask yourself thiswould I be waisting my time writing reviews if I had done the exhaust modification as is implied Also would I be so complacent to take the truck to a smog shop with a straight pipe and a computer programmer on it Doubt it!!!! So to the future customers of Buena Park Honda BUYER BEWARE!!! You pay for the smog cert when you buy a vehicle It's a line item built into the fees during the purchase If there is any doubt of the smog I would request the vehicle be taken to a smog shop of your choice prior to actually signing on the dotted line New cars I wouldn't be to worried about, but used cars/trucks like mine I would definitely request a shop so you know there wasn't any funny business going on BUYER BEWARE!!!! If I just read between the lines here, I am stuck with this repair because Buena Park Honda won't step up to the big boy plate Thats fine I understand They have all of their supporting documentation saying it passed smog However the fact is that it shouldn't have To those thinking I should talk to the smog shop about it, I will be Regards, [redacted] ***

This is a lie and the negetive equity was not what added up. They have also sold it out from under us before we said yes or no to the financing they came up with. This business is poorly run and we will not be returning.

we had a 2012 Pilot which sold resently for 20991 and was priced for 20991 I believe what the client is referring to is the negative equity that factors in from the tradein and the amount finance will raise. not selling price??(line7 on the contract) we dont raise selling price of our vehicles....

and secondly we never price any of our cars ending with a 9 always end with 1 2 3 4 only that is our company policy.

You state that there is a visual inspection done at the time of reconditioning.  I assume this means the time between the trade in and the time of the sale to the next consumer.  If that is the case then 2 entities dropped the ball.  In my opinion, what happened here is, you took a truck in on a trade and later noticed that it is a straight pipe from the exhaust manifold back to the muffler.  In my very basic research since the problem occurred,  I have found this to be a common practice amongst some diesel owners.  Knowing that this is an expensive fix, upwards of $1500-$2000, you found a company that would smog it knowing that in two years the next owner would have to prove that it wasn't on there when it was purchased.  For other consumers that are reading this review, a diesel motor smog consist of purely visual exams.  A probe is not put in the exhaust pipe for a computer to measure gas levels.  That means the smog is only as good as the smog techs morals.  Now if I'm the owner of a smog shop that a dealership brings all their cars to, am I going to fail a truck to which the dealership will be out a significant amount of money, so they decide not to keep coming to me.  You said it best in your reply to me, the dealership is a big client.  The risk to reward for the smog shop is a small.  Now the next consumer (me) is stuck with a $1500-$2000 problem that I now have to attempt to prove was there when the purchase was made.  If that in fact did happen, then I agree that the dealership would not be responsible.  The smog shop should be.  That is if it was their conscious decision.  However if it was influenced at all by the dealership, leveraging it being such a big client, then I do feel the dealership is to blame.  Ask yourself this.... would I be waisting my time writing reviews if I had done the exhaust modification as is implied.  Also would I be so complacent to take the truck to a smog shop with a straight pipe and a computer programmer on it.  Doubt it!!!!  So to the future customers of Buena Park Honda.  BUYER BEWARE!!!  You pay for the smog cert when you buy a vehicle.  It's a line item built into the fees during the purchase.  If there is any doubt of the smog I would request the vehicle be taken to a smog shop of your choice prior to actually signing on the dotted line.  New cars I wouldn't be to worried about, but used cars/trucks like mine I would definitely request a shop so you know there wasn't any funny business going on.  BUYER BEWARE!!!!  If I just read between the lines here, I am stuck with this repair because Buena Park Honda won't step up to the big boy plate.  Thats fine.  I understand.  They have all of their supporting documentation saying it passed smog.  However the fact is that it shouldn't have.  To those thinking I should talk to the smog shop about it, I will be.

we have a full inspection report on this vehicle and there is no state of any missing catelic converter, we also conduct a visual inspection of smog equipment part of safety inspection at the time of reconditioning process none of the concerns were noted, also we have a...

certificate stating this unit has passed smog inspection, I find it hard to believe that a company would put their smog license at risk and also loose a big client for one smog check passing since we would pay a fee either way. we also had a inhouse techniscian that was a smog tech at the time of the customers call that was the only reason we were not utilising the outside smog facility, since then we have had our smog tech resign and we currently are using outside services again, this is not any type of wrong doing on the smog facility or our dealership. thank you.
