Upon further review and due to the complex nature of the issue, we will agree to refund our diagnostic charge of plus the other shop charge of $provided Mr [redacted] gives us copies of his invoices showing the completed work and also allowing us to verify his system is working correctlyWe believe we followed Acura protocol per their service bulletin but understand it is an unusual set of circumstancesWe ask that Mr [redacted] contact us with a day and time he will return with the invoices and vehicle nspection at which time we will provide the reimbursementThank you

The customer came in with an issue as the navigation was not workingThe problem was due to the navigation unit scratching the navigation unit DVDThere is a service bulletin on this exact issue, and it was diagnosed per the service bulletinWhen we looked at the navigation unit, there were
stains on the unit that appeared to be due to water (the unit sits on the floor under the passenger seat)Acura will not attempt to repair any unit that appears to have been water damaged-regardless of whether it caused the issue or notWe informed the customer of thisHe then inquired about replacing the unitWe told him we could, but that he would have to pay for the $core charge, which we would refund IF Acura refunded the core to usWe also told him that we did not think they would refund the core because of the water stains
The customer did not want to take the chance that he may not get his core back
I don't think we did anything wrong at allWe kept the customer informed of what was going on, and what could happen given different repair alternatives
We have seen this issue before and if a new NAVI disc is installed under these circumstances it will end up being scratched and inoperative again

Left VM for Mr ***, advising that Revdex.com will be closing case as 'Resolved' at this time.Mr *** may contact Buerkle Acura to make necessary arrangements, and may contact Revdex.com to have case re-opened if issues still need to be addressed

We ask that Mr. [redacted] contact us with a day and time he will return with the invoices and vehicle nspection at which time we will provide the reimbursement. Thank you.
