Response received via e-mail attachment to Revdex.com, 5-26-17: May 26, 2017RE: Complaint ID: *** Mr*** E ***Regarding Mr***’s brake concern: On April 21, Mr*** brought his vehicle to Buerkle Honda for battery concern, horn randomly sounding, Complimentary visual
Multi-Point inspection, and car wash. At this time we noted that the rear brake pads were getting close to being worn out per visual inspectionWe advised Mr*** that the rear brake pads and rotors would need to be replaced in the near future and provided an estimate of $533.50. The next week Mr*** called and asked how long he would expect his rear brake pads to last, we provided a rough estimate. Then later that week Mr*** experienced a sudden issue causing rear brake to seize and become metal on metal that he states almost started his car on fireThis would tell us that something had stuck or seized very sudden within the rear brake system. We had replaced brake pads and resurfaced brake rotors at 118,miles in March of and now the vehicle has over 134,miles we know that the brake work that we performed had no workmanship issue. Therefore we at Buerkle Honda would not be able to provide any warranty or reimbursement towards the brake repairs that were completed on the rear brakes of Mr***’s vehicle in March of 2016. The written warranty on the repairs that were performed in March of was months/12,miles whichever comes first. There is no way for us to know when a mechanical brake component will all of a sudden fail causing the type of seizure creating a brake concern such as Mr*** experienced. The price of replacing the rear brake pads and resurfacing the brake rotors in March of invoice #*** $labor, $brake pads totaling $plus tax. Mr*** did have other non-related repairs and maintenance performed at the same time.Regarding the $inspection charge, there were no separate brake inspection charges to Mr*** at that timeRegarding the fluid seep/leak that Mr***’s is experiencing with his vehicle:Mr*** brought his vehicle to Buerkle Honda May 16, invoice #*** with 135,milesMr*** stated that another repair facility advised that there is an oil leak at the top of the engine. We inspected the area of concern and could not determine exactly where the leak is coming from as the fluid had spread to numerous areas. We cleaned off the area and installed a leak detecting dye to the engine oil and advised Mr*** as stated on the repair order invoice#*** to return after a few hundred miles of driving. The cleaning of the area, the dye, and recheck are being completed at no charge to Mr***.Mr*** did have his vehicle in with Buerkle Honda September 6, at 126,miles and had engine work completed. There were many seals replaced at that time that come with a month/12,mile warranty. If we find that the fluid that is leaking is caused by one of the seals replaced at the time there would be warranty coverage up until September 6, or 138,miles and Mr*** would not be charged for the repairThe information that I have provided are the facts gathered through documents that we have within our data base and also documents that have been provided to Mr***. If you are in need of any additional information please feel free to contact me. I am available by phone or email. Regards,Ken ***Service DirectorBuerkle HondaDirect ###-###-####Ken.***@buerkle.com

To respond to this customers statement I pulled the original repair files, they had repairs done in July of The first was a right fender repair that came to $588.38, the second repair was to the left front for $Neither of these repairs, even combined would be enough to for
their insurance company to consider the car a total lossAs for frame damage, the cars repair consisted of replacing all the damaged structural panels, no frame or structural damaged was left when the repair was completeThe car was inspected and received a front end alignment after the repairs were complete and no issues were noted. At Buerkle collision we pride ourselves on performing only top quality, above industry standard collision repairs that include a lifetime guaranteeAt no time did the ***,s contact us with any concerns and drove the car for almost 30,miles without a complaintAs of now, the car is owned by Ed Napleton Honda in Oak Lawn ILThey performed a complete inspection on 5/31/and deemed the car worthy and safe to sell on there own lotAt this point with no way to examine the car for the for the supposed "frame damage" I will consider the matter closed
