I'm disagreeing the response from the company because I was never notifed when I signed up forn the account, I then told the representative that I never recived any mail or statements from them before I found out that my account was closed outI'm pretty sure that I would of notifed them that there were charges being charged on my account if I would of got something in the mailI want to come to a resolution of getting my $that I put into my account because I feel like this company ripped me off and took my money

getting my $25 that I put into my account because I feel like this company ripped me off and took my money.

I am responding to your letter dated March 2, 2015 to Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union ("BMFCU") in regard to a complaint.BMFCU prides itself on providing attentive personalized service at low cost to all of our members.The person who made the complaint stated she was not informed of a fee...

being assessed for an inactive account. The BMFCU does charge an inactive fee. This fee is $12.50 per quarter and is assessed and deducted from a member's account if the account has not had any activity for the past twenty-four months. This fee, as well as any other fee that may apply to an account holder is provided to the member on a fee schedule that is given to the member at the time of account opening. In addition, members agree to the terms and conditions, which includes fees, as listed in our Membership Account Agreement when they sign our signature card/ account agreement.The person also stated that they never received a statement in the mail. Statements were sent quarterly to the same address as the address listed on the complaint. We never received any notification from this person over a two year time period that they were not receiving their statements. An inactivity fee for failure to perform any transactions over an extended period of time is common among credit unions and many other financial institutions. Our fee is less than many of our competitors and was implemented at Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union to help offset the costs of maintaining accounts and the work involved in complying with New York State Escheatment laws in dealing with abandoned accounts.The employee that shared all of this information with the person who made the complaint was mentioned in the complaint as rude and unprofessional. I am sorry that the person who made the complaint felt that she was not treated well. I have never received a complaint about this employee in the seven years that he has been employed at the Credit Union and he has proven himself to be an asset to our organization and to the members that he serves every day.
