Buffalo Motors Reviews (%countItem)

My husband called this business and received a quote for repairs for a gas leak. We scheduled the service knowing the quotes given. When we went to pick up the vehicle, the invoice was double than what was originally quoted. We did not authorize any additional repairs. My husband nor I was contacted regarding these additional repairs or the condition of the vehicle. They stated, “It was worse than originally expected”. We did not know anything about the vehicle’s condition since we were not contacted or updated regarding their findings. They also welded the frame on my vehicle without permission or consent. I was not informed or updated during the repair at any time. Communication on their end was none. This business takes advantage of people and their money. When I confronted the owner, him and his employee both state, “It had to be done”. It’s MY vehicle, that is my decision to make not theirs. The owner took off $70 on over a $1,000 bill which was mostly tax. I told him this was not enough since I did not authorize the additional repairs and the quote on parts increased in price too. They charged double than what we were quoted. The owner in his exact words walked out of his office/place of business and said “I don’t have time for this”. He then got in his vehicle and left the premises. The employee could not do anything since it was out of his hands.

I did receive a call from her husband regarding a fuel leak on their cadillac escalade, I asked him if he could tell where it was coming from and he thought from above the tank, I told him that it is fairly common that the fuel pump lines rust out and that would require replacing the fuel pump, but with out looking at it I would not know for sure. He asked how much a fuel pump costs I told him around $500 and typically 2 hours of labor if there are no other problems, he said it needs to be fixed so I scheduled the work and told him I would order a pump in case we needed one we would have it. I never quoted a price what I told him was a rough estimate of a possible cause to the leak, he then dropped the vehicle off and requested it be repaired and never asked to be notified if we found more issues. Once we were working on it we found the straps that hold the tank to the vehicle were rusted completely off as well as the brackets that mount the straps to the frame. This also is not uncommon and we proceeded to repair the vehicle. We finished it and it works well, I wrote the bill and put 4.75 hours of labor on it instead of 7.5 hours the job really took as a way to keep the total cost down for him that saved him $203.50 and after confronting his wife I took off another $69.88 so I have already discounted the invoice over $270.00. She makes an inaccurate statement that I took off the tax I can not remove tax the sales tax is still applicable to the bill. The reason I left was she kept getting more abusive with her attitude and foul language and I had my wife and grandkids sitting in the vehicle outside listening to every word and the situation was going from bad to worse. As you are aware I have never had a claim like this before and most of my business is generated from repeat customers and their word of mouth. If you have anymore questions feel free to contact me Thank You

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Please type your response here.] My husband specifically asked how much the total quote would be to fix a common gas leak for my Escalade. There was not individual prices for this or that quoted over the phone. It was a fixed amount for the total job. Before having Buffalo motors doing this repair, we have contacted 3 other local repair shops and have also called Advance auto parts and also stopped into auto zone which the typical price of a fuel pump for a 2007 Cadillac Escalade is between $300-$350. Other local repair shops quoted $500-$650 for a common gas leak issue with Cadillac Escalades. These quotes were for the total job done. The other repair shops were booked or on vacation, so this is why we went with this business. The owner of this business DID NOT contact us for more labor time or for further diagnosis or findings with my vehicle. The owner “up” and did this further repair of welding my frame which is not even on my invoice without my husband or I’s knowledge or authorization until it was time for pick up. The owner also was using very poor verbal language to a female mind you and would not reason with his mistake for not making a simple phone for his additional findings. The owner took off $70 on a $1070.00 bill which tax was $55 alone. I’m not saying he took off tax money, just clarifying $70 on $1070.00 bill when we were quoted $500 is not enough. I raised my voice because for females, repair shops don’t take you seriously or clearly and this is exactly what is happening with this business. I felt betrayed and taken advantage of when we were charged doubled than what was quoted. On the invoice, there also is not part numbers listed so I don’t even know what brand part was even used in my vehicle. Any other repair shop list’s the part number after each part. I was never offered to view my old parts or to see the weld job. The owner ran out of his place of business in a hurry. I did not see any family members in his vehicle and there was no way they heard our conversation even if they were in there because it took us 10-15 minutes to be waited on and we had to call the business itself to be waited on. An employee, couldn’t hear us from 10 feet away. No way a family heard our conversation inside a building. Either way, what kind of owner walks out on a customer or keeps family waiting in the car during business hours? Business hours close at 5pm and we were there at 4pm. What kind of owner doesn’t call to let the owner of the vehicle know of any additional problems or repairs? That is the number one thing a repair shop should do is update their customers. A place of business cannot be doing unauthorized work, especially on a vehicle.

Regarding the rejection to my response, first of all Sasha is not the person I talked to about the project and she is making up things about her husbands conversation with me, secondly, I would like to see these other "quotes" from the three other shops in town because I know of nobody that would write up a quote without knowing what the problem is. I use strictly Napa Fuel Pumps as I explained to her that evening because of the lifetime parts and labor warranty and yes they cost a little more. There are plenty of witnesses as to what was said by whom that day so I'm not even going to respond to that. Her husband sat in a chair in my waiting room and never offered any opinion of our phone conversation. She is also refusing to accept the fact that I had already reduced the invoice by $203.50. It is also a false statement about the bill being double the estimate, to do a fuel pump without other problems was $650.00 and the increase ends up to be $300.00 for a total of $950.00 plus tax. Without her having first hand knowledge of her husband and my phone conversation, I find this to be a lot of made up distortions of the facts. In closing I have no intention of refunding any money on this invoice and hope no more response is needed. Sincerely

[Please type your response here.] Again, we NEVER asked for a lifetime warranty fuel pump to be installed. The fact of the matter is we did not authorize to install this lifetime warranty fuel pump or the welding of my vehicle frame. This is the issue here. There was no phone call to discuss my vehicle or the condition of it. We were never asked if we wanted lifetime fuel pump or not. We never received paperwork regarding the lifetime warranty of the fuel pump. There is not even part numbers listed on the invoice to even know what parts were installed or this lifetime warranty fuel pumps. Fuel pumps are between $300-$350 and that’s a fact. We knew the problem of the vehicle before taking it to Buffalo motors. I have 2 brothers in the family that are mechanics. I had family willing to help, but we knew it had to be on a hoist to do the work correctly. We did our research before taking our vehicle to Buffalo motors. My husband did in fact speak up when the owner was present for the maybe 5 minutes he was there. The owner walked out and left the premises. I honestly cannot believe all these lies that are taking place. I will in fact get these quotes from the other local repair shops if it’s absolutely needed to prove my point. I will also get prices on fuel pumps as well.

Regards
