Revdex.com spoke to Crystal at the business and the following was relayed: To our knowledge this has been alleviated and resolvedJohn is back in his car and the repairs are being covered by dealership and/or manufacturer

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,[redacted]I did go through the letter from Buffomatic Transmission and find most of the statements given to be false and not true and I swear it on my life. . I did not get a call nor a voice message from Buffomatic on my phone unless he used a different phone number to contact me and never left a message. . I did get a ride from Buffomatic when I dropped my car for repair, one of his employees was kind enough to give me a ride back to my place of work. I was never offered a ride to go and inspect my vehicle. . I never knew who the owner of Buffomatic was. I found his name through customer reviews on his web site. I still haven’t seen this man face to face cuz he makes his employees to do the dishonest work for him. . I have no idea as to what he means that I did not show up to be picked up by him. Where? . The only time the business contacted me was on June 12, 2017 to ask for the date of my birth to authorize the business to see what was wrong with the vehicle. I had to take the bus to go for work and kept calling them for almost a week to find out as to what was wrong with my car. . The business never offered me to do the job for $2800. I had told them that if the repair is going to cost me more than $1500 I don’t want the car fixed. The mechanic never told me that it was going to cost me $1404 to put back the car the same way that I brought it in without fixing. The mechanic hung up on me when I told him that I was going to sue them if they did not give back my car. They just suck me in by pulling out all the parts of the car to make sure that I had no choice but to fix my car with them or get my car for free and put it on their lot for sale. I am not sure if he is a car dealer or a mechanic. . Customers are at the mercy of these mechanics. I still have a doubt that my car transmission had gone bad. It is rare for a Honda Civic with 104968 miles to have a transmission problem.it could have been a bad filter costing me $250. God knows. The golden rule is “Treat others as you would like yourself to be treated” in today’s material world money has replaced God and people have become slaves to money which is wrong. I think this mechanic has lost his ways. I just don’t want this to happen to any other customer that goes to him for repair. As the mechanic mentions in the last paragraph. We spent numerous hours disassembling and reassembling the vehicles transmission and now the vehicle has a new and fixed transmission including more than $1400 worth of work invested on repairs and labor. I am not sure as to how he got the total job priced out to be $3500 or offered me $2800 which he never did. I have the New York Department of Motor Vehicles Division of Vehicle Safety COMPLAINT REPORT & CIVIL COURT. I AM STILL WILLING TO OFFER YOU $1400 PLUS TAX WITH A 12 MONTHS/12000 MILES WARRANTY FOR THE CAR WITHOUT ANY DAMAGES.

Buffomatic Transmissions has read & reviewed your second letter with the complaintID: [redacted], in response to the customer's complaints: The customer contradicts himself withthe statements written in his letter. We are a straight & honest business & we have done nothingwrong. Buffomatic has always treated the customer with respect, it seems as if anything we do &say doesn't make the customer happy. Buffomatic has called the customer on many occasions &the customer has also received & called the owner Shawn from his personal phone number-([redacted] after business hours. Shawn can have his phone records pulled if needed. The customer was offered rides from his job [redacted] at [redacted] [redacted] to Buffomatic (Only a half mile up the road fron1 our location) at [redacted] so that the customer could come and inspect his vehicle's transmission. Shawn was also willing to talk to the customer's mechanic (friend) who has been in service for more than 25years & also have him come over with the customer so that he could check out the damaged transmission. The custotner was offered rides because he said he was unable to come & talk to usabout his transmission. The customer didn't want any part & declined our offers. The customer also wouldn't let Shawn talk to his mechanic, who also told the customer that his vehicle was not worth fixing at all. The customer let his vehicle sit on our shop's lift for 2 weeks before he made a choice about his repairs & that alone made our business lose money. The total job to fix the vehicle's transmission priced out to $3500.00 plus tax but we offered to help the customer & do the job for$ 2800.00 plus tax (customer has to pay sale tax). Arc manufactured transmission (part# 20021-PLX-LOO) fron1 a Honda dealer would price out to be $2351.83 not including applicable tax, installation & labor hours. Unfortunately the vehicles transmission has been discontinued & is no longer available for purchase. A used transmission ranges from $976.00 to $2050.00 \Vithout tax. installation & labor hours. Not to n1cntion thepossible damages a used transmissions may have, n1eaning more repairs tnay be needed. Insidewe enclosed prices on used transmissions without any labor or fluids & mounts that the vehicleneeded. If the vehicle didn't need any of the work that we found necessary then we wouldn't have done all the work in order to sell the vehicle. The vehicle now has a new rebuilt transn1ission & 3 ne\v motor mounts (MORE THAN$1400.00 p1us tax worth of work) also $200.00 in cleanup & detailing the vehicle. The vehicle is now ready to be sold for $4300.00 plus tax. The customer told Shawn that the vehicle was not worth fixing & wanted Buffomatic to give him money for the new tires he had just put on his vehicle. To reassemble the transmission back to)ts original state it would cost the customer$1300 plus tax giving him a total of$1404. The customer didn't want to pay the $1404 and instead of junking his vehicle we told the customer to leave the vehicle's title as form of payment. The customer can have his vehicle for $3000.00 plus tax cash only since the vehicle has are built transmission and 3 new motor mounts. Customer has 2 weeks form the date of this letter to contact us back if he wants his vehicle. The customer can call us back at [redacted] business hours are from 8am- 5:30pm Mondays-Fridays. Contact us as soon as possible since we have a customer who is interested in buying the vehicle.Regards,

Buffomatic Transmissions has received and read your letter with the assignedID#[redacted] and in response to the customers complaint: The customer dropped off his 2001[redacted] (VIN#:[redacted]) with 104968 miles on June 12,2017. When thevehicle arrived we checked out the transmission and...

found that the vehicle had an internaltransmission problem, upon disassembling the transmission we found two broken motor mounts(front and side) and the torque converter \Vas in bad conditions, due to these findings thetransmission needed to be rebuilt. The cost to disassemble the transmission and inspect it was$600. The customer gave authorization to disassemble the transmission by giving us his date ofbirth (5/6/71) on June 12, 2017 at 8:50am. After finding out the source of the problems the totaljob priced out to be $3500 plus tax. I offered the customer to do the job for $2800 plus tax with a12 months /12,000 miles warranty on an exchange unit. I also offered the customer a usedtransmission for $2000 without the mounts.I tried numerous times to contact the customer in regards to his vehicle's condition. I evenoffered the customer rides so that he could come and inspect his vehicle's condition with ourtechnicians but the customer always said that he would call me back. At one point the customeragreed to be picked up by me (Shawn Buffo) to see his vehicle, on the day the customer wassupposed to be picked up he decided not to show up. The customer said that I had to wait on anyrepairs being done because he needed to consult his friend with 25 years of experience on hisvehicle's repairs. His friend told the customer that the vehicle was not worth fixing when indeedthe vehicle was definitely worth fixing. I needed a response from the customer on his finaldecision because the vehicle had been occupying the lift for a long period of time. The customerthen decided that he didn't want any work done and wanted the transmission reassembled back toits original state, to reassemble the transmission it would cost the customer $1300 plus tax givinghim a total of $1404.The customer was upset because he just wanted to pay $600 not the full $1404 and then gojunk his vehicle, thinking that his vehicle wasn't worth fixing. I told the customer that instead ofjunking his vehicle he could bring the vehicle's title and sign it over as a form of payment, whichthe customer agreed upon doing. We spent numerous hours disassembling and reassembling thevehicle's transmission and now the vehicle has a new and fixed transmission including more than$1400 worth of work invested on repairs and labor.Regards,Shawn B[redacted]
