We always appreciate the business we get from the general public, butsometimes communication can be improved and apparently this was one ofthose times. When Ms. [redacted] contacted us about her bird problems, she explained thatshe had birds in her attic and that two eave vents needed repair. I gave... her acursory price over the phone based on her description of the problem. In reality, what we discovered when we arrived on the job is that she had three differentnest sites inside the structure, two inside the attic and one in a wall vent pipeviewed from the exterior. Furthermore, when you climb up to the eave vents, there were more that also needed replacing. We felt we were going above and beyond by replacing more vents and dealingwith another nest site in a stove vent without charging extra for the extra work.Wow!We know we removed all of the birds from the attic and we thought we gotthem all from the stove pipe. Apparently, a few young birds were still in thestove pipe, though, that we didn't know about. This is, again, the area we werenot hired to take care of. Also the flapper she is referring to was left in thesame working order we found it in. It was not working properly, which is whythe birds got in in the first place. When Mrs. [redacted] called me after hours that night she said she heard birds, still. I told her we would be there the next day, and we removed two more birdsfrom the stove pipe. These birds were in feather and birds that age are quick andtrained to be still and quiet.Again, Mrs. [redacted] called me after hours the following day to complainabout hearing more birds. At this time, I explained to her that I would chargeher $75 to come out again and explained that I did not charge her for all of the extra work we did at her home. She didn't agree with me charging her for aservice stop and I never heard from her, again.Dealing with bird jobs can be difficult. Phone estimates are only estimatesbased on what the homeowner tells us. No phone estimate is set in stone. I feltwe went above and beyond in our service to Mrs. [redacted] by removingnesting sites and sealing up more vents than we had originally bid for in aneffort to help her get rid of her bird problem.I'm sorry Mrs. [redacted] was not happy with our service. But as I have statedrepeatedly, we did more work for her than we were asked to and did not chargeher for it. We were happy to come out and remove any birds still in the stovepipe, but we do not work for free. Now, she has apparently hired someone elseto do it, and that is fine. We hope her home remains bird free. Sincerely,David M***, Owner
