Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The installation completed by Builders Depot/Craftsman Unlimited was not done with high quality Some of the issues we have with the finished product include: Wall u-channel is not seated flush against the tile leaving a gapThe gap was caulked with silicone initially, and then covered up with grout when we brought it up Bottom u-channel (panel 3) does not meet flush with the adjacent u-channel (panel 2). BD said it should have been filed to mate the ends properly. Even so, one channel sitsvisibly higher than the next. Shower door is lower than the adjacent panel and isn’t centered over the tile workWide gap exists between the shower door and the securing wallTwo panels are not 100% level (#and #3)Silicone caulking was very poor. Razor blade was used to remove bad caulk from the glass panels. Some areas were cleaned with mineral spirits and silicone was reapplied. But it still isn’t perfect in all places. Razor on glass is not recommended as it can scratch the glass. Grout was used to overlay some of the flaws in the caulking. So we have a combination of silicone and grout applied in different places. To my eyes, it doesn’t look professional due to lack of consistency. Also, the grout does not look good from anascetic point of viewFrom a practical standpoint, the grout on the shower glass and trim work will likely scratch these surfaces during cleaning, touch up Panel heights were not at the same heightThis was corrected by using brackets to hide the imperfection. Wall u-channel was not cut to size. Again, this was hidden by adding an end piece to cover the exposed glass(Resolved)Shower door was not level and did not line up with the adjacent panel (# 2). Hinges were re-drilled to straighten out the door. But it still didn’t line up correctly so the top hinge was shimmed slightly. The adjustment created a space between thehinge and the tile. Grout was applied to hide this gapBut the grout was only applied to one side of the hinge creating an eye sore(Mostly resolved except for items 3, noted above)

Fact #1) This complaint is for installation of product purchased from Builders Depot AZ, Inc. and complaint should be dismissed and filed against installation company [redacted]Fact #2) Installation was done correctly and meets or exceeds all industry standards.Fact #3) There is not one item on Mr. [redacted]'s lists that is correct. Silicone, Caulk and Grout are standardly used in all showers. Inclosing, Mr. [redacted] is having buyer's remorse and has a beautiful shower that people would love to have. Mr. [redacted] did not order a complete new shower with new tile walls, new tile floors. In Fact what Mr. [redacted] "only" did is order new glass to replace his old weather low end glass enclosure and which he had it installed to his as-built existing tiled shower.

Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] purchased custom [redacted] doors February 2011.  The doors were custom made to be retro-fitted to the existing openings of their 1978 home.    October of 2013, the [redacted] contacted our office regarding their weather strip that had torn.  We informed them that it...

was no longer covered under warranty. As a courtesy we visited their home to try to assist them in finding a source for the replacement weather stripping.  We contacted a manufactures representative to visit their home to make recommendations.  Through the manufacturer’s representative they helped facilitate the ordering of a replacement weather strip for the [redacted] and contacted an installation company.  The installation company visited the [redacted] home and found the weather strip to be incorrect that was specified by the manufacturer’s representative.  Since this issue was not covered under warranty it was our understanding they were going to continue to work with the installation company to find a replacement weather stripping.

Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] contacted Builders Depot AZ, Inc. and requested a bid on replacing there existing metal framed shower enclosure with a clear glass semi-frameless enclosure. After removing there existing glass and metal framework there new semi-frameless glass enclosure was fitted to there...

existing tiled walls and floors. There original large metal shower enclosure required to be notched and cut into there existing tiled walls, deco band and floor. The new enclosure re-installed into this existing area. Installation of the new shower is done correctly and above industry standards. The time frame to complete installation was do to Mr. [redacted]'s schedule and limited hours available and we had installation facilitated around Mr. [redacted]'s Schedule and time restraints. The Installation of glass shower enclosure is professional and done by a licensed installation company. Craftsman Unlimited, Inc. ROC [redacted]The product and installation is beautiful and above industry standards. Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] are just having buyers remorse and now want something different.
