I am writing this letter in response to the letter I received from your office ID # [redacted]. I do not agree with a lot of things said in the letter that [redacted] wrote.First of all, I did get a list of discrepancies from [redacted] and his wife pertaining to their townhouse. I received...

this letter at the closing of their townhouse. I never gave a specific time that I would complete the itcms. I told them I was very busy and that I would definitely complete the list. They gave me a key to their home and said that it was alright and I could stop by anytime and take care of the items. I did go into their home when they were not there because I had a key and was given permission to go into their home if they were not there. A neighbor saw me enter their home and knew me. She said she would let them know I came by. I do not feel I did anything wrong. The sparks he claims that came from the breaker box is not true. The electrical work gets inspected by a licensed inspector, Wes Clark. If there were sparks of any problem, [redacted] would not be able to move in until it was fixed. All receptacles, switchcs, lights, and breaker or panel boxes arc inspected two times in the process of building a home in [redacted] County, WV.The other problems such as a leak with the pipe had a leak and I had the plumber fix it as soon as I was told about it, it was not on the list I was given at closing. The hole in the roof was not a hole in the plywood. It was where a bird build a nest and pushed the vinyl soffit over it and created a hole in the soffit of the overhang | fixed this. The ceiling fans needed some adjusting. I took care of all the ceiling fans too. also purchased a globe that was missing. The two sink faucets that were slow in water flow were fixed. This is very common in houses after the sediment in the pipes come thru the faucet. It sometimes can clog the screens and this is what happened. I cleaned them and they work fine. The townhouse has several inspections during the building process. I have to pass all the inspections in accordance with the IRC 2009 Building Codes as well as any codes that [redacted] County adds. I passed all my inspections to be able to obtain a Use and Occupancy Permit to allow me to see the house to [redacted] and [redacted].Things like these couple of issues can happen rom building a new home. I am sorry for any frustration I caused them, but I do not think I did anything that should allow [redacted] to put out a letter against me that is not completely true. I work hard and take pride in my work. I do not want anythings said about me or my company. I have never had any other homeowners or people go this far, I would hope this does not go against me or my business.Thank you,Chad J

Review: I purchased a house from Chad J[redacted] (the builder) on 6-6-1014. Prior to closing Mr. J[redacted] was given a discrepancy list to address from the walk through. Mr. J[redacted] said that he would address the issues the next day after closing. That day come and went with no sign or notification from Mr. J[redacted]. Three weeks went by, I emailed Mr. J[redacted] and left a voicemail but I did not get any reply. I eventually met up with him and he said that he was to busy to address the walk through discrepancies but he would get to it in the next week or two. I said ok. The next two weeks came and went with still no sign or notification from Mr. J[redacted]. After 37 days, I wrote Mr. J[redacted] another email stating that if he did not address the discrepancies given to him at closing in the next 7 days that I would file a complaint against him and his company. Miraculously he showed up at our house the next day. However my wife and I were not home at the time, yet Mr. J[redacted] thought that it would be ok to come in the house with out notifying us or asking permission first. He addressed a few discrepancies but the majority still remained unaddressed. He still has yet to communicate what discrepancies he addressed and what his plan is for the others. It has now been 50 days since he was given the list. I highly recommend that anyone interested in purchasing a home would steer clear of Mr. J[redacted] and his product. His product is poor and his service is even poorer. Some of the discrepancies that I experienced upon moving into one of Mr. J[redacted]'s new houses: sparks coming from the breaker box and one breaker inoperable, a pipe leak in the wall of a bathroom, a hole in the roof soffit where birds have made a nest and live, several ceiling fans not installed and hung properly (missing screws and light globes, unbalanced, and hanging insecurely), unleveled tile floor, and sinks not draining and faucets not producing water.Desired Settlement: I would like Mr. J[redacted] to address the discrepancies that were given to him 50 days ago and address the new discrepancies that have arisen due to the poor quality of craftsmanship. I would like communication on exactly when this will be done and I would like it to be done in a timely manner.
