Building Arizona Families Reviews (16)

We loved working with Building Arizona Families. They were with us every step of the way. The webinars and resources were excellent. They really helped us to be prepared for when we were matched and the adoption happened. They help you navigate the whole process.

they did an amazing job building our family we are eternally grateful to them

Truly an amazing company doing tremendous work nationwide! The level of care, compassion, and kindness displayed on behalf of their staff is unparalleled!!! Awesome job Building Arizona Families.

A truly amazing company with a heart for children and a respect for their clients unlike anything you've ever seen before!!!!!!!

Review: I hired this company to perform an in-home social study as the court ordered this though the termination of parental rights process. I have previous CPS involvement due to the abuse from an ex, to my daughter. I have 100% legal and physical custody of my daughter. I voluntarily disclosed my past to the case worker, Patrick,, and he never responded to me. I called and he was very cold and short and impersonal. They were scheduled to come out to complete the study on 9/18 at 6:30pm and the case worker called me around 11am to tell me that they will not be able to complete the study due to my past. They did not ask for more information or give me a chance to explain the details. I asked him on the phone to explain why and please allow me to prove myself and he said no, the owner wont allow it. I kept asking him why and to please explain and please let me prove myself. He then hung up on me. I called the office to speak to his manager and the owner, and they said that she wasn't available and they would "relay the message". I then emailed her and she never bothered to respond.

They should not be able to judge someone on their past, from ten years ago mind you, let alone speak with disdain to their customers and then hang up. And to top it off, not even have the common courtesy to allow us to explain the past situation, and prove to them and everyone who I and we are today. AND even further, the owner, Kelly R[redacted], of the organization should have had the common courtesy to call or email me back to explain her decision.Desired Settlement: I would like the owner of this company, Kelly, as well as the social worker, Patrick, to reach out with the respect I deserve and explain to me why they waited hours until the time of the study, and 1 week from the time of my court date to tell me they would not be able to help me because I was had previous criminal and CPS involvement ,without giving my family the common courtesy of an explanation and allowing us to explain the situation to them.

Dear Reviewer #1403594,

It boggles the mind how someone can post such a dishonest, one-sided view of the events surrounding your home study. If you remember, you spoke to a gentleman named Adam who mentioned to you that you would not be charged for any part of the home study you purchased, and offered (and coordinated) a meeting with you and your family (at your convenience) within 2 days of speaking with you. I am the gentleman that you spoke to, and myself, Kelly, Patrick, and two other memebers of our leadership team met you at our office for almost an hour. In person your only complaint was that that you thought you should've received a call back sooner, and assumed Patrick hung up on you when that was absolutely NOT the case. You've also failed to tell your readers that I personally (out of my own pocket) offered you a $200 gift card to buy clothes and some fun things for your daughter...was that because we did something wrong, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Was that because we wanted you to retract your dishonest slams about our agency, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! When we got to the core of the issue, you were upset because you incorrectly assumed that we had somehow "judged" you. I told you that I appreciated you coming to speak with us, and wanted you to know that we SUPPORTED your fight to rectify the problems in your past that we're presenting a current problem for you and your family. My parting sentiment was "we are on your side, and I want to personally make that clear"! I even called you later that evening to make sure you and your husband were doing better, but only received your voicemail. I would greatly appreciate it if the next time you leave a review (regardless of whoever it's for) you tell more than just your side!!!

Thanks so much, and I wish you and your family nothing but the best in the days to come!!!!

My husband and I live in Chicago. Originally we registered with a well-known local agency. Like most agencies, our original agency had about 145 on their waiting list. After several months of zero activity with our original agency (plus spending $500/mo independently in internet advertising), we learned about Building Arizona Families (BAF) and the fact they have a short waiting list for families. This is almost unheard of – so much so, it took me a few weeks to actually believe them. We signed up with BAF in mid-January. In February we were selected but it was a change of heart. ALL agencies have change of hearts. They are impossible to avoid. In March we were again matched. 10 days later our gorgeous son was born. He has changed our lives, and I feel such gratitude to BAF for bringing us all together.

Adoptions are emotional and there’s a lot of opportunity for bumps along the way – regardless of who you use as an agency. I always felt that the BAF owner and employees were earnest in their mission – of creating new families. Our counselor Angela always took the time to speak with us when we were nervous about things along the way. I have already recommended BAF to another friend who will likely use them. If my husband and I adopt again, we would skip the rest and just use BAF. Oh… and BAF cost $10K less than our original agency as well so in the world of adoption, they are very reasonably priced.

Building Arizona Families was great to work with for our domestic adoption. I would highly recommend them. They have notch case workers who keep you informed along the way and are timely to answer questions. Although my husband and I ended up adopting domesticly, we did consider an international program and we really enjoyed working with the case working on that side too.

I would happily recommend this agency to anyone! This is a group of dedicated and caring people who's goal is to place children in loving caring homes. Our workers were professional and available to us at all hours. They dealt with all of our concerns and smoothed out any issues that came up, as of course they do in domestic adoptions! They made our family, and if we decide to add to our family we will definitely use them again. Highest recommendation!

Our first adoption with Building Arizona Families was amazing. They were so helpful, informative and experienced, that it made the process easy. It was so comforting to have them, especially our caseworker [redacted], in our corner. She was very honest, informative, caring, easy to talk to and available anytime we needed her. [redacted] was even in the delivery room with us the day our daughter was born. We highly recommend Building Arizona Families and [redacted] to assist anyone who is wanting to experience the joy of starting a family through adoption. Thanks to them both, we now have the most beautiful and happy, three month old little girl, to share our lives with.

Building Arizona Families did exactly what the name indicates - I now have two beautiful sons via an International Adoption from [redacted] All of the employees (the owner included), were supportive, helpful and truly instrumental in the completion of this long and complicated process. During that initial time of waiting, I was able to meet other families at the bi-annual adoption picnics. Now the boys and I go to the picnics together. I have recommended this agencies already several times and will continue to do so.

We had a very positive experience with BAF. Following a failed match they were very quick to get us rematched. Our social worker was amazing. She was straightforward, honest, and supportive. The 3 day waiting period was a very difficult time and the social worker was right there with us. The agency went out of their way during those 3 days to support us. We can not thank them enough for helping make our family complete.

We have worked with BAF for over 3 1/2 years now in the adoption of a child internationally. From the first moment we met our case manager, [redacted], we felt tremendous support and guidance. Our process has been long and complicated with many challenges - [redacted]'s honesty, integrity and friendship throughout has been one solid tangible factor we could always count on! International adoption is complicated - working with an agency that you trust makes all the difference. We have that trust for BAF. Our child will be home soon - Thank you to BAF and [redacted]!!!

Do NOT use this adoption agency. Unless of course you would like to manage your own adoption, pay a lot of money to do it, and basically get little to no respect or support from the owner and/or social workers that work there. Pathetic excuse of an adoption agency. Please do yourself a favor and do your research and don't waste your time OR money with these people.

I would like to state that my family and I had a very positive experience with Building Arizona Families. When researching adoption agencies, I naturally became overwhelmed. After I called BAF I instantly felt comfortable. The employees were extremely nice and informative.

Throughout our experiences we met many case workers, all of which were extremely supportive and helpful. Our case workers worked diligently to provide us with information to help us make an informative decision. We had contact with our case worker every week, and sometimes more frequently.

When going through the adoption process, many emotions take over. The employees at BAF made both my husband and I feel at ease. Our adoption process was not the easiest. We probably endured more challenges than not. Luckily, and thankfully, we ended up with two healthy, beautiful, amazing boys from separate birth moms. Building Arizona Families worked with our financial needs and provide great payment plans.

This agency made us feel like they weren't only building Arizona families but building an Arizna family. They are a small, close knit, agency that works hard to not only build families but communities as well. They have thrown yearly barbecues where you can meet other families that adopted through their agency. I do, and will continue, to highly reccomend them to families looking to adopt.

BAF assisted us with three international adoptions. As an agency they were very responsive and had excellent communication through the adoption process. Very experienced and easy to work with.
