was hired to refinish the basement. He did a sloppy job with finishing, painting, and did not install a window in the bedroom properly. He removed bricks from the side of the house to put the window in without using a level. Now our bricks our ruined. He said he would find a mason to repair and we have not heard from him since May. *** was supposed to fix tile that was not placed correctly in the bathroom. The tile in bathroom was extended to far out into living space. There was also not enough tile placed in living room that abuts bedroom. He did not put in built in because he states we needed the dimensions. He being the contractor should have an idea of dimensions once he was shown the pictures. He does not return call and his assistant Amy is unprofessional and only covers for him when he does not want to answer calls. We have had to hire other contractors to finish the job he messed up. He has also destroyed items that we had stored in the basement because we never informed when he was drilling in the concrete that we needed to cover or place out belongings in another location where dust could not get to it.

Desired Outcome

Repair We need him to repair bricks at the side of the house that he destroyed and pay for items destroyed by dust. We should not be charged anything because he did not finish the job.

My apologies for the late response, unfortunately I found this complaint in my spam folder when looking for a set of plans that was sent to me.

Upon review of the allegations by Mrs ***, it was our findings that the work was never completed because when we requested a payment from Mr *** for work completed he stated " I dont know how, but I ran out of money, I'm going to have to get another loan."
Mr, *** informed me that he was going to contact me on the 27 of that month to complete the payment.

It is our company policy that when we have direct knowledge that a client does not have the funds to pay upon completion of our work on their project, we immediately suspend our work on the project until payment is brought up to date. It is a safeguard from unscrupulous homeowners or simply loss of job or any multitude of causes that may arise in the homeowners life that would have grievous consequences to our company's finances as well as potential litigation fees in order to obtain the amount owed to us by the homeowner.
In this case we have gone above and beyond to satisfy several misunderstandings by the homeowner insofar that we have paid for crown molding materials in the amount of $1,200.00 from our company's account, because the homeowner misunderstood our initial proposal.
When Mr *** requested to hire an electrician we provided him with a reputable electrician that our company uses to do our electrical work and since he complained that he was going to be over budget, we had him deal with our subcontractor directly and did not charge him any additional contracting fees, however there arose some type of miscommunication between the electrician and the homeowner as to what was to be charged for completion of the job. The homeowner complained to me that it was my fault because we recommended the electrician. Due to our position in this situation we decided to keep a good relationship with our electrician and paid $3,000.00 dollars for the work to be completed so that the homeowners could have their basement completed for their daughters event which was eminent.
By this time we had developed a spiritual rapport with Mr *** and in spite of the previous misunderstandings and our financial losses, we stayed until 2am on several nights trying to complete the job in time for their event.
It is disheartening that at this point after everything that we have done to satisfy our part of our agreement we should have to recurr to this when our beliefs are clearly stated in 1Cor 6:1.

In regards to the relief requested by the homeowner it clearly demonstrates the attitude that we have been dealing with since the inception of this project.
The homeowner Mr *** who was my point of contact throughout the commencement of the project was told verbally to remove their belongings from the basement so that we could have freedom to complete the work, when he stated that they did not have any where to put it in I suggested that they put it all in a corner so that we could have ample room to work.

In conclusion we are willing to finish the window that the homeowner is complaining about she can keep the money owed to us since that seems to be her mo the only drawback would be that at this time we are booked all the way to Nov 22. I Can be reached at *** at any time, if i'm unavailable please leave a message and I will get back with you at my earliest convenience.
Thank you, and have a blessed day.
