I am rejecting this response because:Let me detail the lies and inconsistencies from his last response:
• "The inspection was preformed and reviewed with clients at time of inspection."
- Flat out lie.  We were not there while he performed the inspection.  We came to the house after he had completed it.  Our realtor can attest to this.  His review of the few items he did find on the day of the inspection was cursory and, we now realize, nothing remotely comprehensive.

• "Several concerns where talked about and pointed out."
- Anything he found and talked about was presented to us as issues that were not deal breakers.  Again, if he had done a proper and complete survey of the attic he would have easily found some deal-breakers - namely, asbestos littering the attic and an improperly installed furnace and HVAC system.

• "The client chose to accept and $10,000 dollar credit rather than have any repair completed."
- This is completely inaccurate and unethical.  How does an inspector know the details of what we may or may not have accepted as the terms of a purchase agreement.  For the record, the number he stated that we accepted is wrong and had we known what was really going on with the house as a result of a competent inspection (which we paid for and did not get) that number would have been much higher.  Or we could have had the choice to walk away from the purchase and save ourselves the trauma and effort of remediation.

• "The items on report were never further evaltuated by professional as recommeded in my report (prior to close of escrow) therfore he accepted this property as is."
- The items on his report are not at issue here.  It's the items that should have been on his report and weren't.  He missed big things in his report and as a result we were not able to make fully informed decisions when negotiating with the sellers.

His report was incomplete and did not provided me with the information I needed in order to make a fully informed decision about the purchase of this house.  It should also be noted that Blake was not forthcoming about his E&O insurance information in his last response - as I had requested.

Revdex.com, this can't be the first complaint from about this guy you've received.  It's not about the money anymore.   Please help me help others like me avoid getting taken by Blake Felton and his shady business practices in the future.

Please strip him of his Revdex.com accreditation immediately.

Review: My wife and I recently bought a house and were referred to [redacted] of Building Specs, Inc through our realtor. Soon after we closed on the house, we started remodeling the master bedroom suite which is when we began to realize just how poorly he had done the job that we paid him $535 to do. In particular, his survey of the attic stated that the HVAC system was new and properly installed and supported. Had he actually gone up into the attic and conducted a proper survey he would have discovered improperly disposed-of and disturbed asbestos littering the majority of the attic as a result of a haphazard (and unlicensed) HVAC installation in our attic. In his report he stated that "Satisfactory - The ductwork appears to be properly installed and supported which couldn't have been further from reality. In the case of the disturbed asbestos, we made the discovery only after realizing that air was not blowing through some of the registers and asking home warranty to come out to take a look at the supposedly "new" HVAC system. The asbestos situation in our attic was so evident that insulation, HVAC and asbestos remediation professionals were all shocked that he didn't see it during inspection. All of the existing ductwork had to be redone and all the insulation had to be replaced. All of this after we had to stop all construction and have the home professionally remediated. In addition, the HVAC system wasn't even properly secured and installed to code so we had to go out-of-pocket on that as well. When confronted, Blake claimed that it wasn't his responsibility and that asbestos is outside the scope of his report. He then called back claiming that he was "sick to his stomach" that he could let something like this happen and that he would be happy to refund his fee. We declined to accept the refund since it would be the equivalent of absolving him of any responsibility. All-in-all, we are out of pocket over $13k all because of his laziness, irresponsibility and substandard work.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement of all damages totaling $13,530.00.Full documentation is available and can be provided.

Response:

Review: We hired [redacted] the owner of Building Specs, to test for mold in a house while we were in escrow on it. He seemed really nice and helpful. However, we stressed that we were on a very tight deadline to sign off on contingencies in escrow, so we needed the mold report back quickly. We even drove our mold samples to the lab ourselves to expedite the process. We received the lab reports fairly quickly, and he promised us that he'd email his report which interpreted the lab results within 1 business day of the lab reports. Well, now it's been over a month and a half since he did the mold inspection and we still don't have his report. He kept promising to send it, and then he eventually told us that he sent it to us....despite the fact that we kept telling him that we never received it. Emails just don't get lost! Clearly he was lying to us. He never did the report. We are extremely disappointed as we paid alot of money for the mold inspection. Additionally we thought he seemed like a nice man but he completely dropped the ball and then lying to us was just awful. It should also be noted that we are quite sure he mixed up our mold samples. In one room where it clearly smelled like mold, the room tested fine, while in another area of the house, there is no odor or visible dry rot, and the sample tested high for mold. Two remediation companies have already told us that he clearly mixed up the samples.Desired Settlement: See Complaint Text
