Inferior repair to transmission issues to be rebuilt having lost 3rd & 4th gears. Automatic transmission not shifting properly after being serviced.
11/28/13 transmission trouble w/'99 Chevy Astro Van. 11/29/13 went to Built By Bill Transmission & Engine Repair LLC(owner/operator [redacted])for diagnosis of transmission problem. After test drive [redacted] stated that 3rd & 4th gear was gone and transmission needed rebuilt. I stated to '[redacted]' of being a minister and needing to return, on ministerial matters, to Warren, Ohio asap and to do what needed done in repairing damaged transmission. Agreed and 'contracted' rebuild of transmission (asap) at an estimate of $1350.00 (plus tax), '[redacted]' to disassemble and access needed parts for complete rebuild/repair. Paid deposit of $600.00 on purchase of parts needed(via Visa credit card). Also agreed to pay balance at time of pick up. Left '99 Chevy Astro Van at Built by Bill Transmission & Engine Repair LLC for transmission rebuild(for a total of 6 days, from 11/29/13 to 12/4/13). On 12/4/13(@5:15pm) received call from '[redacted]' that rebuild work completed and ready to go. '[redacted]' had returned after test driving the Astro Van saying it was good to go. We went to his office and I paid the balance of what was owed, $783.48(via Visa credit card). I have 2 receipts for both credit card charges. $60.00 in cash was also paid. (I have hand written receipts from '[redacted]' with 2 different total amounts of $1445.48 & $1553.48. I'm not quite sure what that's about.) After all was paid and done, I left with the Astro Van in preparation of heading home to Warren,Ohio. Unfortunately, The transmission would NOT shift. And even more unfortunate and NOT having the luxury of more time needed I had to return home. I made arrangements to have the '99 Chevy Astro Van shipped home. The Bottom Line the '99 Chevy Astro Van is NOT fixed, NOT shifting, NOT working as it should. This Astro Van is NO different then when first going to 'Built by Bill'. Transmission isn't right.
