Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me I appreciate the prompt attention and timely responses by both the Revdex.com and *** *** *** in the resolution of this matter
Sincerely,

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: While I do appreciate the credit of $287.15, I don't appreciate the playing down of the incidentI am not sure how Spicer Gas can be so certain that completely blocking the air intake to the unit could not have damage it furtherIt was enough to raise CO levels in my house to ppm in only two hoursThat is times the lethal limit of ppm, according to the statement that I signed from the*** *** ***I am appalled that the technicians left the unit in such a questioned stateThey told me that the situation was safe but that I should get it fixed the next day, yet they wrote on the worksheet they gave me that it "smells bad"I am 100% certain that if I did not have a CO detector in my house or if it were not functioning properly my entire family would have died that nightWe were planning on returning home after eating dinner at my sisters while the house warmed up when we received the CO call from ***I do plan to pursue this matter further.Sincerely,*** ***

Safety issues at a customers house are treated differently than a standard cleaning or installation, and the severity of the issue and responsibility of costs is not always discussed prior to work being done I would label it as a gray area rather than a black & white protocol In
this instance the issue allowed us time to respond and discuss the fix with Mr*** and that didn't happen All of our staff know the hourly rate and can speak to it if asked Confirming the charge is difficult prior to arriving on-site but the rate could and should have been discussed The company apologizes for the lack of communication and the insincerity that occurred in the follow up call, and will discuss it in the next office meetingThe tank rental covers the companies equipment on-site, which is identified in the supply agreement It includes the tank, the concrete blocks the tank sits on, the pigtail (connection between tank valve and regulator), and the regulator All exterior and interior piping is property of the customer This as well could have been discussed at initial service request call, or in subsequent calls to the service dept, and again the lack of communication is something we will improve upon

Our technician responded to a no-heat call on January 8th and was unable to fix the problem.  He recommended that an HVAC company be contacted to diagnose and correct the issue.  In order to provide some heat and avoid the pipes from freezing he made a short term fix.  This improper...

solution may have created the unsafe condition but it would not have damaged the unit further.  Whether the boiler needed replacement was a determination made by the homeowner and HVAC company, without input from Spicer Gas.  We are learning about the replacement of the boiler a month later.  We will credit our after after hours service call of $287.15, but being there was no causation to the units failure by Spicer Gas no costs for the replacement of the boiler will be provided.

We have attempted to contact [redacted].  The phone number we have has not been answered and the outgoing message on the phone is a threat to anyone calling.  After filling the tank the driver determined there was a leak on the valve stem.  The driver shut-off the tank and...

disconnected the gas line per protocol.  The complication is that the tank in question is owned by [redacted] so we can not remove it and fix it without his request and authorization, and there is no way to fix the tank without removing it's contents.  We regret not identifying the issue with the valve stem prior to filling.  [redacted] has paid for the gas that was delivered to him, and we understand his frustration in not being able to use it. However, this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed.

We have been in contact with the customer and continue to maintain that both these deliveries were made to the customers house.  The driver left a copy of the invoice on the first delivery, which the customer received. The driver also remembered doing the delivery 3 weeks before when delivering...

the second time with the customer present.  We agree that the usage doesn't seem to match historical profile or make much sense for the time of year this occurred, but we are confident the oil was delivered.  The customer was away for a few weeks in between these 2 deliveries, it's possible some fuel was removed from the tank?  The answer will most likely never be known.  We will remove $150.00 of the oil delivered and the finance charges.  Total adjustment will be $163.80, leaving a balance due of $156.79.

I am rejecting this response because:1) The assertion that my voice mail is a threat to anyone is absolutely laughable.  It's a humorous play on a famous movie quote.  2) Spicer Gas never left a message on my voice mail.  Perhaps the caller was too busy quaking in fear??  Fortunately other businesses have beenable to function and leave messages with this funny quote in place over the past couple of months.  3) Spicer Gas never wrote me a letter, even though they know my address.  Nor did any representative stop by and leave a note during their undoubtedly numerous visits to the neighborhood over the past five plus weeks.  4) Spicer Gas never E-mailed me, even though they previously had no problems E-mailing me an affidavit once we established that I owned the propane tank.5) While in its reply Spicer did apologize for not discovering the alleged leak earlier, there no apology for not notifying me of the supposed safety issue at the time of delivery or anytime for weeks thereafter.  6) There has been no solution proposed.  I will take my business elsewhere.I would like to thank the Revdex.com for assisting me in at least getting this business to respond.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
