Review: On 05/17/2014, I was carrying my patrol rifle in a bulldog case specifically the Extreme Rectangle Discreet Assault Rifle Case 40" - Black when I removed it from the trunk of my patrol car and placed it on my back using the backpack straps on the case when the zipper split at the bottom causing my rifle to slide out onto the concrete causing damage to my rifle. I contacted Bulldog within minutes of it happening and explained to them the situation. Initially they wanted to say they could do nothing for me at all, but as soon as I told them I was law enforcement they changed their tone as far as replacing the case. They agreed that the case was defective, but tried to deny that their product was the cause of the damage to my rifle. I sent them pictures of the damaged parts of my rifle and they tried to say they could possibly have the parts repaired. I explained to them due to the fact the type of damage and the part itself could not be fixed it would have to be replaced. I continued contact with the representative [redacted] who eventually sent me the case to replace the defective one, but they are still refusing to deal with the matter or replacing the damaged parts to my rifle. I have not heard anything back from them and all communication has ceased in the passed couple of weeks.Desired Settlement: I would like the damaged muzzle break and the extended latch on the charging handle to be replaced or be reimbursed for the replacement of the parts. It is approximately $120.00 without labor cost to replace the parts.

Response:

On Saturday May 17, 2014 the customer contacted us through email to report a problem that occurred with the case at his office and to request replacement of his case and rifle parts. The first business day after his email, Monday 5/19/14, a reply was sent that his case would definitely be replaced and his address was requested. We accepted his report of what happened and offered to replace the case without question. The replacement of his case was confirmed before we had even requested photos of the case and rifle. He responded at that point to tell us that he was an officer and he asked again that we replace any damaged rifle parts. Whether he was in law enforcement or a civilian made no difference in how quickly we responded to his problem. An upgrade was offered from the original $65.00 case to an $85.00 case. He accepted this upgrade on May 28th and the case was mailed out on June 2nd and delivered to the customer on June 3rd. After reviewing the pictures, it appeared that something had already damaged the zipper. As a result, we asked if he would send the original case and damaged rifle parts for us to inspect. This would enable us to identify the cause of the accident and determine the proper course of action for his rifle parts. The customer declined this offer.
