I understand your frustration and if you want to come in and restart your membership, we can do it in a great way for you.? In the past, we did use an outside vendor to help sell memberships.? It is true that in order to cancel, you must contact them, since they hold the membership agreement.? That is something that we did not find helpful to us, and will not repeat it in the future.? Having said that, we can certainly provide you with a great membership and workouts.? Also, I can say that everyone who joined did understand that the membership that they signed up for was for a one year contract, and we made it a major point to say this.? Apparently you are saying that you did not hear this.? I don't doubt? that you did? not hear this, but I am certain it was said.? My advice at this point would be to come back in and let us correct it by giving you free time in the gym.? However, I cannot cancel the membership that you signed with them.? I just wanted to respond to the complaint of [redacted] ID# [redacted] on behalf of Bullhead Health Club, This issue was updated on March 18th for her account to be credited, I [redacted] tried reaching her by phone because she would come into the gym in the morning before I got here, but the number we had on file and the new one she gave the front desk I still could never reach her or get a responseI did speak with [redacted] today and she did understand the message I left her with and she was credited the month of April but had her yearly fee taken out, so this issue has been resolved and [redacted] is ok! Thank You, ***

Here is our response to this complaint.We do provide copies of contracts. I am not sure why she did not get one, or remember getting one. Yes, she did sign a contract, but had the option of not signing on if she chose another membership type at the time of enrollment. We are in the
business of changing lives and getting people into at the best shape of their lives. We are NOT in the business of tricking people, swindling people, taking advantage of people, or hurting people. Very very rarely, but from time to time in this business, as in any business, there are customers that are not happy. This occurs in our business primarily when the member fails to commit to the regular exercise program they signed up for and misunderstood what they were signing up for. Then they don’t get results, blame us for their failure, and want their money back. When we sign people up and provide them with professional exercise classes and do everything we can to get them into shape, we hope with all of our heart that they will be successful. In this case, we are sad that it did not work out for the person who filed this complaint. We are more than happy to extend her membership, give her free personal training, and find any solution we can to get her physically back on track. To say that we take advantage of people, is not only unfair to me and my staff, it is hateful, and simply incorrect. We have been in business as a local gym for years now. If we weren’t doing a great job, and changing lives in the community that we live, we would not still be in business. My staff and I are saddened that this member did not find happiness at our gym.Don ***Owner Bullhead Health Club

Your reply that I was provided with a copy of the contract I signed is completely unacceptable, I was never given nor offered a copy of said contract. The only thing I was sent home with the day I signed up was the week kickstart booklet and my key chain card. I even came home when I was refused the option to cancel my membership to see if I was sent home with a copy. None was found, however, I still had everything else that was sent home with me that day.When I came in and asked if I could cancel my membership, Curtis told me that he would provide me with the company contact information to call so I could cancel. Even at that time, nothing was mentioned of the year I supposedly agreed to when signing the contract that seems to be non existent. I do remember signing a paper that outlined my monthly payments, but was never told that I was signing my life away for a year with no option to cancelWhen I contacted the company that Curtis emailed to me, they told me that cancelling was not an option until I could provide proof I completed my weeks. They said that this was the rule and that they have to follow policy, but that I should contact the gym owner as they could assist me with getting my membership cancelled. I did this and was told by them that there was nothing they could do. I have copies of all emails sent back and forth with the gym. I was told to call the third party payment company, they told me no call the owner, he told me no. All I wanted was to cancel my membership and was told no at every turn. This is not good business and it should be stopped. Go over the contract with your potential customers, tell them from the start they will be stuck with no option to cancel for a yearDon't try to put the blame on the third party billing company and then say your own hands are tied

I have no desire to ever do business with your company again.? When I came into the gym to ask about cancellation, you should have told me that it was not an option instead of giving me the run around.? You should have known the policy of the third party billing company you worked with before using themThey refused to cancel my membership causing me to pay for something I no longer wanted nor could I affordFor the past year, I have struggled to pay each month for a membership I didn't want.? I find your business practice shady and unprofessional.? I will tell everyone just how I was treated by your company and warn them of the tricks that are played by your company and staffI have learned a very expensive lesson from this experience that I will continue to use for the rest of my life, never pay for the most expensive gym in town, never sign a contract when there are other gyms that do not make you sign one and never, under any circumstances, sign up for a week challenge again.? This was the worst experience of my life, all I wanted to do was make myself healthier and came to your company for help with that only to be lied to, tricked and taken advantage of.? You should be ashamed of how you are trying to play the good guy in this situation when I have email proof that you told me I could cancel and then was denied by the third party billing company you were paying to help with membershipsThe only thing you keep offering to make this situation right is an extended membership, why, after all of this BS you have put me though, why would you think I want to continue to use your facility?? Learn how to own up to a mistake, make it right for the customers that you have made very unhappy and offer them more than just free time at an establishment they have already made pretty clear they want nothing to do with.? This was the biggest waste of my time
