Bullitt Septic Service performed a septic inspection on 07/08/16 for the customer in question. The service was paid in full upon completion in the amount of $300.  Our records indicate the septic inspection was emailed on 07/12/16. On or about 11/21/16 we received a call from the...

customer.  The customer stated he wanted to schedule his septic tank to be pumped out.  The customer was then quoted the standard rate for pumping a septic tank of $325.  The customer stated that during the time of the septic inspection, back on July 8th, the inspector had told his wife that Bullitt Septic Service would pump his septic tank at no additional cost as soon as they cut the grass around the septic tank.  I explained to the customer that the cost for an inspection is separate from the price of pumping the septic tank. I asked the customer for some time to research what had happened since the inspection was four months ago and this being three days before a holiday (Thanksgiving). The customer’s wife then called on 11/23/16 to also complain.  The customer’s wife stated that she never received the septic inspection via email.  We offered to resend the inspection but the customer’s wife declined and seemed more focused on getting her septic tank pumped at no additional cost.  We explained once again that those are two different services with two different and separate charges. We were able to pull our records regarding the inspection on 11/25/16.  I called the customer twice on 11/25/16, with no success, and left a message on their answering machine.  I spoke with the inspector who did the septic inspection in question.  The inspector stated that at no time were there any promises for additional services to be made at a later date the customer.  He did state to the customer’s wife that the septic tank contained an excessive amount of sludge and needed to be pumped.  He also told Ms. [redacted] that before scheduling the tank to be pumped the area needed to be cleared in order for a truck to get access. Also in the customer’s wife complaint she states that no pictures were taken during the inspection.  This is not true.  We have the original report and it clearly has six pictures of the septic system.
