[redacted] brought her Volkswagen Jetta to BumperDoc in December for repair of significant collision damaage involving the front door, rear door and rocker panel on the right side of her car At the time of her request for repairs, she acknowledged that certain electronic functions (including right front power window) were not operable, however these malfunctions were not collision related and repairs to electronics were not included in the estimate for repairs or agreed on price by either party.BumperDoc completed all contracted collision repairs to Ms [redacted] s vehicle consistent with automotive collision repair industry standards using insurance grade certified recycled replacement parts and undamaged components from the customers car Before delivery to the customer, BumperDoc inspects and tests it's work to ensure that the vehicle is returned in pre-collision condition Ms [redacted] did not contract with BUmperDoc to repair her malfunctioning electronics When Ms [redacted] complained of the malfunctioning electronics, BumperDoc performed extensive inspection and diagnostic testing to identify and correct any BumperDoc warranty issues.The conclusion of this testing found no BumperDoc defective work or parts, only malfunctioning electronic issues which are common to this vehicle year, make and model As a customer courtesy, BumperDoc inspected and tested all wiring harnesses, switches, motors and devices in the doors and body of the vehicle and replaced window switches and door lock devices in the right side doors The electronic malfunction issues persist, indicating a malfunctioning electronic controller which was in no way related to Ms [redacted] s collision or BumperDoc's collision repairs This malfunction has been documented by many Jetta owners in Consumer Reports and other automotive complaint journalsWhile BumperDoc regrets the difficulties Ms [redacted] is having with her car, it is in no way our responsibility to correct these electronic malfunction issues Documentation is available upon request

Ms [redacted] doors function now exactly in the same manner as at the time just before her collision Her lock function is erratic - caused by defective vehicle control module electronics - a documented manufacturer defect, documented in consumer complaint journals This behavior has been documented to occur in Volkswagen vehicles with as few as 50,miles of use Ms [redacted] vehicle has over 150,miles and suffers from other power and drivetrain issues Ms [redacted] complaint should be directed the vehicle manufacturer for resolutionBumperDoc has already spent more than $in test and diagnosis as a courtesy to Ms [redacted] Although BumperDoc has no contractual obligation to do so, BumperDoc is willing to continue seek work-around solutions for Ms [redacted] erratic lock functionality if Ms [redacted] will:1) agree to cease all attempts to shift responsibility to BumperDoc; and2) agree to direct all complaints and demands for remedy to the vehicle manufacturer for resolution
