I called Ryan Bertel of Bumper One to repair a dent in my rear bumper and to repaint itHe showed up with a couple of guys and started sanding my car but right away I could see they were so haphazard and lax there would be problemsAfter spraying it was obvious the color didn't match and he said it would look better after it driedI waited a few days and it didn't change so I called back for a resprayAfter much phone tagging he finally showed up and resprayed and the color was off the same as beforeWhen I saw the finished car they had already leftAdditionally, paint has peeled off of many edges where he sprayed due to poor prep work and there was overspray all over the car
All subsequent communications via email or phone tag have been ignoredIt's obvious this guy can't match my paint, I'd like a full refund to get it done right elsewhere
I will consider this resolved when I get a full refund certified check mailed to my address that he already has on fileNo email tag send me your address I'll get that rubber check right out to youSimply send me the refund or PayPal

Review: 4/14

I sent him a text and picture of the dent to my vehicle. He quickly gave me a quote of $290 if it's metal. Next came the scheduling process. We agreed to an appointment time for a Tuesday from 9-10am. Monday, the night before, I received a text saying something came up and he would like to reschedule for the Saturday from 9-10 instead.

4/26

Received a text Saturday morning that he is running behind. Once he finally arrives, he takes a look at the damage and assessed that will cost a lot more than his original quote, and that his body guy would need to fix the dent for him prior to him sanding and painting. He gives me a quote of $650 to fix the dent and to paint the side back panel. *NOTE, the damage is only on the rear portion, but he decided he will paint the entire back piece to ensure there is no flaws in the paint. He said he would like to take his time with it, not rush the job, and get it back to me in 2 days. He even called his body guy and asked him if he could go to his house and do that job for him that day. Since I knew him, I agreed to let him fix it and he asked that I drop it off at his house to get all the work done. While I am at dinner, I receive a text from [redacted] ask if I can pay the invoice on Paypal since he needs to pay his guy that day. Normally, at a body shop, you are only required to pay a certain percentage up front, and the rest once all of it is complete and you are satisfied. But since I knew him, I logged onto my paypal and payed the invoice, and dropped off my truck later that night.

4/27

I send him a text to verify that my truck will be done tomorrow. He replies yes tomorrow.

4/28

This is the original day I was promised it would be done. I send him a text that I will be in the area around 4 to pick it up. I live more than 45 minutes away. He replies that it is not ready yet, that it had a lot of work from the inside. He is shooting to paint around 5-6pm. I asked what time will it be done. He says as soon as he gets back from the shop, and he was told it will be done by 4:30. I then ask what time it will be completely done, and I will just staty around the area until it is finished. He says it will take 2 hours to paint and clear and that he cannot promise it will be ready by 7pm. He will call me an hour before, and I say ok. 7:40 pm, I ask the status on what time it'll be done. He sends me a picture of it taped up and the paint process not even started. He says he does not have time to paint tonight and will have it tomorrow by 5. This is where I became highly upset and annoyed. I drove up to the area to pick up my vehicle, on the date it was promised, and come to find out it is still not finished. This is very unprofessional and very uncourteous, especially to lead me to believe he was going to get it finished that night. I tell him that I drove up for nothing, and he says sorry and that he was waiting on them. He said he had to take it to the shop and that it will be ready tomorrow. I asked if someone can just drop it off the next day, since I wasted my time and gas to drive up already. He said he would get his nephew to drop it off.

4/29

He completes the job and send me pictures of it. He has nephew drop it off at my house and tells me to let him know what I think of it. I noticed a gap between the mud guard on the right side and the body. You could see the double sided tape holding it. He also forgot to fasten the mud guard back with the clips, I found them in the trunk of the truck. He said when he is in the area, he can try replacing the double-sided tape again.

5/12

I text [redacted] after I washed the truck and found a bunch of overspray on the window and door and debris that got stuck on the paint before it dried. He replied he just needs to run a clay bar on it and it wouldn't take long. He said he would be in my area Friday.

5/16

I text him if he will be coming by to fix it. He replies he has to stay home due to the fires and his kids school is cancelled.

6/9

I text him again about setting up an appointment stating there is now a rainbow effect on it. He replies, wow..what happened? He says he should have time next week since he is booked.

6/17

I text [redacted] if he has any openings for the week. He says he is booked until next week and offers me appointment time for Thursday or Friday. I said I am available for Friday. He asks for my name and address and I tell him it is [redacted].

After that, I have texted him numerous times trying to confirm an appt date and time with no answer. Truly unprofessional and a waste of my time and hard earned money. The original dent was minor compared to the final outcome from Bumper One. It looks worse than it did prior to the repair.

Shortly after posting a negative review on yelp, I finally recieve a text from [redacted] asking about my review. The only day he offered me to fix it is 4th of July. I will be unavailable that day due to it being a national holiday. I texted him I am available any day after that, but he has not replied.Desired Settlement: The business claims to have a lifetime warranty on their website, however, it is impossible to set up an appointment to get the problem fixed. It has been two months since the initial consult and this problem has not been resolved. I would like a full refund so I can bring my vehicle to a shop and get it fixed properly and professionally.

Review: I had some damage to my rear drivers side back panel on my car. I came across [redacted]'s business on [redacted] and purchased a voucher. When he came out to repair the back panel is quote was $400 more then what the voucher was worth. I asked him very specific questions about his work, the most important was if he could color match. He guaranteed me he could and that the color of my vehicle was one of his favorites do match. It only took him about an hour to do the paint job, and once it dried I noticed bubbles and debris stuck in the paint. I called his to let him know the situation and he told me that me the bubbles would go away once it completely dried. Long story short they didn't! After calling and texting him numerous times I was able to get him back to the house to make the repairs. Once again I would have to wait until the paint was completely dry to see if this was corrected. Well it was not corrected and even worse the paint did not match. After Inspecting the car I realized there was a third problem he over-sprayed getting paint on my door seals window frames, and the roof rack cross bars. He even dripped paint and primer in my driveway. I have attempted to contact him several times evening sending him pictures but I have not received a response. Almost a year later I am still trying to find a resolution to this problem.Desired Settlement: I would like either a refund or my car to be painted by someone who can guarantee to do the job right at the business' expense.

Review: [redacted] completely lies and misrepresented what he was to do to fix a dent in my car. He said it would be an all day, he stated he would paint the 2 rear quarter panel sand half of the front door, fading it , so the paint would match. He did not do this, there was imperfections and bubbles in the paint. He ended at the rear door and it is a totally different color from the front door. he only worked on the car for an hour, showed up 2 hours late and was in a rush to leave, he committed to coming back to "cut and buff car" he never showed and will not respond to phone calls or texts. I now see that his promise was to get me to pay him and he probably never had an intention to come back.Desired Settlement: This will only be resolved with a full refund of $250 can refund through pay pal ...do not mail check
