In response to the letter dated May 9, concerning customer *** ***, we have had the opportunity to speak with Mr*** in person and reviewthe concerns he had complained about.Mr*** visited our shop on Friday, May 5, and discussed having usinstall a rear differential
locking unit in his Jeep WranglerMr*** wasverbally quoted for labor plus any additional parts needed that he did not supply.He was also quoted an extra if it was an "air locker" which requires mounting,wiring and installation of a switch for an air compressor to control the locker unitMr.*** never asked what other parts may be needed and was informed that the shoplabor rate is per hour and the estimate was approximateMr*** had nocomplaints or concerns.On Monday, May 9, after completing the differential replacement we calledMr*** to inform him of our plans to mount the compressor inside the Jeep in astorage compartment at the rear of the truckAt that time not only did he give permissionfor us to mount the compressor but asked if we could install a power outlet at the rear ofthe vehicle for his useAt no time did Mr*** ask if there were additional chargesor what the cost would be to do the extra work, he just told us to do the work.While picking up his Jeep Mr***, reviewed the work that was doneAfterseeing the work, quality and amount of work we did, Mr*** stated the he washappy and had no problem paying for such high quality workmanshipMr*** wasshown all of the work that was done and instructed on proper use and seemed to be veryhappyThe fact is we did quote him other that the power outlet that he requested and henever asked the price he just said "do it".For $over our quote Mr*** got everything done and extras that herequested and had no complaints after picking up his vehicleAny monies over theoriginal quote were for requested extra work authorized by Mr*** over thephone.Phil B*** ***Burkart Automotive
