When Eric called me to tell me what was wrong with the van he never told me me it was one of two things. He flat out told me that it was the thermostat. I had the repair done. When driving the next day further than 2 miles to my home the van began to overheat. I took the van back to Burleigh Brake where he then told me it was the head gasket. That sis not make sense to me since it was just replaced one year prior. I have since had the van looked at and repaired. Neither of the items was the problem. The fans were not running. I beleive that Burleigh Brake should have done a much better job of diagnosing the problem instead of guessing.

on February 22nd,[redacted] brought her 1998 Pontiac transport in with an intermittent overheating  problem. We pulled the van in and started checking it over, and noticed right away that it was low on antifreeze. We topped off the antifreeze and pressure checked the system for...

leak's, witch none where found. We then started the van with our tech II scan tool installed to monitor the temperature of the vehicle. the vehicle reached normal operating temperature, and the cooling fans turned on and off at the correct temps. on at 225 degrees, and of at 199 degrees. This cycle happened 3 time's with no overheating happening. I contacted [redacted] and informed her of what we had done. I told here the vehicle was low on antifreeze, we check it for leak's, and we ran it with no overheating while the scan tool was connected. I then told her that there was 2 possible causes, the thermostat may be sticking closed, or the head gasket's may be going bad. She decided  to try replacing the thermostat, as it is much less expensive than replacing the head gasket's. we replaced the thermostat, and reran the vehicle with the scan tool connected as is our normal procedure to monitor operating temperature's . the vehicle was ran for three or four cycles where the cooling fans operated normally. We returned the vehicle to [redacted] telling her that the vehicle had operated normally for us. A day or two later [redacted] brought the van back saying she had the same problem. we brought the vehicle back into the shop and started rechecking everything. Again the van was low on antifreeze so we topped it off, pressure checked it with no leak's, and ran the van with the scan tool connected,  it did not overheat, and the cooling fans operated normally. I again informed [redacted] of what we did, and told that she would need to replace the head gasket's. She said she would let me no what she wanted to do. [redacted] later informed me that the person that she had purchased the vehicle from told her that the head gaskets had recently been replaced. I told her to find out if there may be any warranty on the repair. she picked up her vehicle, and said she would let me know what she was going to do. that was the last contact I have had with [redacted] since then. e: Wed, 20 May 2015 13:47:18 -0500

I recently had my car repaired at Burleigh Brake & Alignment. They did a great job and my repair ended up costing less than their initial quote. My brake line broke and they were able to repair my car the same day. Great service & I'd definitely recommend to friends and family.

Review: My van was overheating. I took the van to Burleigh Brake and told that it needed a new therostat. I had it replaced and paid $271.41. Took the van the home and the next morning it continued to overheat. I brought the van back and was told that I needed a $2,000.00 head gasket. I asked why the van was not looked over the day before and why did they replace a thermostat if that was not the problem. No answer was given. I took car home without further repairs. I have since had the car looked at the problem was the fans were not coming on. Nothing to do with a thermostat or head gasket. I would like my money back for the work done on a new thermostat that was not needed.Desired Settlement: Full refund.
