We explained these laws to her when she initially looked at the car and also when she signed the Massachusetts warranty...

form which also states everything we explained to her. We make sure all of our vehicles pass Massachusetts inspection. We do not know, and are not required to know the laws from every state. Our business is in MA and we sell cars in MA. At the time of the sale the customer understood this and signed the warranty form with no problem. Part of the law is that you need to bring the car to be inspected within 7 days of the purchase date which is also stated in the document signed by both us and the customer. The customer first contacted me after 10/6/16 when she finally had the car inspected and stated that it failed. Although it was past the 7 day requirement for her to get a sticker, I still told her to bring the car down and we would take a look at it. I brought the car back to my mechanic to go over the items of concern. The mechanic is a licensed MA inspection facility. He showed me that the car would indeed fail MA inspection at the time because of a loose ball joint and having 2 plate lights out. I fixed these issues and also had the mechanic take a look at the other items that the customer asked me about. None of the other issues that the NH auto repair station listed were either a safety issue or an inspection issue. Including the head gaskets they claimed were leaking and they were as dry as a bone. Also, the "hole in the floor" is only a small amount of rust around one of the drain plugs that every car have. I have attached an invoice stating the work that was done and that the car passes MA inspection with no problem. I had 2 stations in MA look at this car and both said it would pass inspection. I have tried to go above and beyond to help this customer, even going as far as fixing the ball joint and plate lights even though it was almost a month later and also didn't even charge the deductible. But when the customer came down here screaming at me and calling me a liar, I am done doing anything more then the law requires me to do. I have done much more then I am required to by law and do not deserve to be disrespected like that.
