This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a car dealership The sales manager ripped the offer sheet out if my hands and told me take my business elsewhere, and I didI'm just disgusted in the manner they treated me as a costumerI will not be going back nor will I recommend this dealership to anyone

Review: on 4/20/2013, I brought my 2000 Nissan Quest to Burnt Mills BP Servicenter, to be repaired. I dealt with the head mechanic [redacted] to handle the issue of my car loosing acceleration when driving and that my vehicle had cut off. I explained to [redacted] that it sounded as a fuel pump issue. [redacted] then told me he would look into the car problem and see what he can find. My vehicle had been in his shop for 2 weeks. While there, [redacted] quickly told me the problem was not my fuel pump and he would check into the distibutor to see if that is the problem. In doing so, he then contacted me a day or so later to say that was not the issue and from the diagnostic, he gave me a listing of things that are wrong with the vehicle totalling up to almost $1000. I then asked [redacted] what was the least expensive way to repair the vehicle and also save money. [redacted] then suggested to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor. After the work was completed, I was charged $250.86 for parts/labor/diagnostic and gas. I went to pick the vehicle up and drove to work the next day. While coming home, the vehicle cut off again with same problem before. I then paid $90 in towing fees to have the vehicle brought back to [redacted] on 5/4/13. On 5/6/13 I spoke to [redacted] and he explained it was best to sell vehicle but as for the repairs already done there could be no reimbursement. So basically I am now out of $250.86 and the work was not warrantied.Desired Settlement: I would like to be either refunded the entire amount of $250.86 or at least half of the amount paid $125.43.

Response:

[redacted],

This is my response to the complaint filed by [redacted]. I will start by stating that [redacted] is a repeat customer at my station and we have had a good working relationship. I felt that our last conversation regarding the Nissan ended with a clear understanding of my description of the issues with the Nissan and my recommendations. The Nissan was in my shop for performance related issues and intermittent stalling. During the extended stay in our shop the Nissan never stalled or stopped running while idling in our lot or during the many road tests with diagnostic equipment installed on the vehicle ( scan tool & fuel pressure gauge ). The fuel pressure readings were always within specification. Had the fuel pump failed I would have given [redacted] an estimate to replace it. [redacted] and I did stay in contact for updates on the Nissan. Due to the extended road test and running time we did put $25.00 of gas in the Nissan so that we could continue to diagnose the cause of the stalling and to verify fuel pump operation. I did inform [redacted] of other performance and non performance related issues with the Nissan including the Coolant Temp. sensor, Oxygen sensor, and the Cylinder #4 misfire. A mutual decision was reached that the failed Coolant Temp. Sensor would be the least expensive repair to make in attempt to solve the intermittent stalling issue. I feel that our charges for the work performed are more than fair as I only charged [redacted] one hour for all diagnostic time spent during the time the Nissan was at my shop. The actual diagnostic time spent clearly exceeded one hour. The breakdown for the charges on the repair order are as follows: Labor - Diagnosis $89.00, Labor - replace Coolant temp. sensor $62.30, Part - Coolant temp. sensor $52.99, Gasoline $25.00, Shop supplies $18.39, Tax $3.18 for a grand total of $250.86. I did in good faith try to fully resolve the stalling issue with the Nissan and stay within [redacted]'s budget. The list of needed or recommended repairs the Nissan needed would most likely exceed the value of the vehicle. As stated I recommended for [redacted] to sell the Nissan and spend his money on a vehicle that would give him safer and more reliable transportation. The coolant temp. sensor that I installed was working correctly when the Nissan returned to my shop. Due to my good standing with the Revdex.com and my 50 years of service at this location I hope you find the resolution to this issue in my favor. I am willing to offer [redacted] a refund of $90.00 to repay the towing expense that he paid in bringing the Nissan back to my shop.

Thank you,

Burnt Mills BP
