This case is not a matter of colorfastnessThe dye was already released from the fiber doing the damages, We have seen this several times, however, this time I was confused due to not all the dye coming outOnly the blues and yellows came out, when usually, the red dye comes out as wellWe have seen this with various shampoo's, dog and cat urine, athletes foot products, any product that says OXI on it, and others as wellThis is a case of what in the industry is called "Ghosting"The damage was already done, if we never cleaned the carpet, or whom ever cleaned this carpet, regardless, the results would have been the same or worseI mention worse only because the products we used sit at a very safe phMost companies use an extremely high formula between 11-13ph which would have had the same effect on the carpetI am confident after reviewing the history of this carpet, that even if you simply used steam or hot water with no pre-spray, the coloring would have simply been vacuumed away as it was already released from the carpet fibersI know these particular carpets were on the pricey side of carpet, however this does not mean they are immune to issuesThe warranty companies are in business to deny claims, that is why they gave you some information about color fastness when you called them and told them what happened when you hired our companyIf you changed your story and told them you simply cleaned them a year ago with a rug doctor they would again deny your claim due to the PH levels in the carpet from the dog urine and shampooI would be happy to speak with a claim representative about this situation with you to show you what I mean, and present them from the IICRC's side of what is going on with the carpetsA simple fix however would be for a company to spot dye the blues and yellows back into the carpet where only the base tint of red is remaining

It's disheartening to read Beehive's misstatement of factsFirst off, when I had contacted them, I had phoned at least other cleaners as I was in a hurry to get the job done and they were the ones who could be there the soonestI provided to them all of my contact info at time of hiring including my phone number, email, address of subject property and home addressAfter the cleaning, Beehive contacted me for my email address which I provided to them and they wrote it down incorrectlyInstead of *** they had *** I never received the invoiceUnfortunately I did not write down the name of the business and thought it was Bumblebee Cleaning which I could not find, but knowing they had my info I knew they'd contact me one way or another for payment Since this is a rental and a distance from my home, I was not able to go to the property for at least days subsequent to the cleaning and assumed they had done a proper jobOnce I saw the red carpets I knew there was an issue but not being able to contact them I was not able to advise them When they did contact me several days later, I provided the corrected information for them to send the invoice and asked if they could check out the carpets due to the fact they were now discolored, hoping they could easily fix the issueThey have admitted the carpets turned redThey said they would not be able to correct itHowever, Nick was willing to meet at the property to see if dying would helpWhile not a great resolution, I was willing to consider that optionI went to the property and waited over an hour for Nick to arriveHe never showed and did not have the courtesy to have cancelled our appointment. They have said that I used Rug Doctor before they came outNot trueI used Rug Doctor in the long past, perhaps a year agoBeehive has said using Rug Doctor voids my warrantyNot trueMy warranty company specifically said that is not the case and certainly if it was, Rug Doctor wouldn't be in businessThey have also said that I used improper chemicalsI'm not sure what chemicals they think I used or how they would even know such a thing but the truth is, I used whatever solutions Rug Doctor provided with the rentalFurther, even had I voided the warranty, what does that have to do with the fact that Beehive treated my carpets without proper colorfast testing resulting in pink/red carpets? Beehive was negligent in their application of the pretreatmentThese carpets are less than years old, good quality, Staimaster carpetsAdditionally, there was not quite a bit of pet urine as they allegeThere was wear and tear of a newer carpet. All I ask is that they replace my new carpet, they, not I, destroyedI will pay the bill not including the $rug cleaning charge

We were contacted
over the phone and asked for a price to clean a vacant home. We quoted the
customer $65 per hour which included 2 cleaners and all the supplies. She then
requested a professional window cleaning and carpet cleaning quote. We quoted
$145 flat rate for the windows,...

and $95 for the 2 areas of carpet. Upon arrival
we noticed a good amount of dog urine in the carpet, we called the customer and
informed her there would be additional charges for the pet urine extraction. We
discussed the additional charge of $50 and she approved. Approx. 18 days later
we noticed the customer had not responded to our multiple attempts to collect
the $615 total invoice. Day 18, She finally called us and said: she had lost
our phone number, we had the wrong email address, and she forgot the name of
our Company to look us up to inform us she was not happy. At this time, she
informed us that the carpet had a slight red tint or color to it since we
cleaned it 3 weeks earlier. We made a return trip to the home and discovered
the customer had a bleaching issue indeed. We called the customer and and
emailed her why she had this issue with her carpet. She informed us she had
rented a Rug Doctor and cleaned the rug her self before we came out.
Unfortunately, the client voided her carpet warranty by not using the
appropriate chemicals when she rented the rug doctor. We are members of the
IICRC which is an institution dedicated to using the correct procedures and CRI
certified chemicals to clean carpet. The CRI label is crucial if cleaning your
carpets on your own or when hiring a Professional to clean your carpets. The
alkalinity of the RUG Doctor chemical she used is extremely high and is above
that which is labeled safe for cleaning your own carpet. By raising the PH of
the carpet, combined with a very high PH from the dog urine and then not
rinsing properly with an ACID rinse in order to bring the PH back down the
client effectively bleached or removed the dye found in her carpet. By cleaning
her carpet with CRI certified products, we simply vacuumed up the already
loosened yellow and blue dyes that the customer caused to happen. She
unfortunately voided her carpet warranty, ignored all efforts to collect the
$615 she owes, never made any contact about being unsatisfied with any of our
services, and refused to accept the facts from 20 years certified
professionals. Beehive Cleaning makes no guarantees, or implies any warranties
in behalf of a customers own efforts to clean their own carpets. SEE Attached
form for a bit of information from the carpet manufactures warranty.  "Periodic
professional cleaning of the overall carpet is required. The frequency of
overall cleaning may vary depending on the level and type of traffic and the
conditions to which your carpet is exposed. This may range from as little as 6
months to 24 months between cleanings. Your carpet must be properly cleaned at
least once every 24 months to maintain your warranty. Please refer to the
applicable warranty for more detail. Shaw recommends only hot water extraction
utilizing carpet cleaning products, equipment, and systems certified through
the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Seal of Approval Program. Warning: Nonapproved
cleaning products and topical treatments, applied by you , will void your
warranty."

This case is not a matter of colorfastness. The dye was already released from the fiber doing the damages, We have seen this several times, however, this time I was confused due to not all the dye coming out. Only the blues and yellows came out, when usually, the red dye comes out as well. We have seen this with various shampoo's, dog and cat urine, athletes foot products, any product that says OXI on it, and others as well. This is a case of what in the industry is called "Ghosting". The damage was already done, if we never cleaned the carpet, or whom ever cleaned this carpet, regardless, the results would have been the same or worse. I mention worse only because the products we used sit at a very safe 9.5 ph. Most companies use an extremely high formula between 11-13ph which would have had the same effect on the carpet. I am confident after reviewing the history of this carpet, that even if you simply used steam or hot water with no pre-spray, the coloring would have simply been vacuumed away as it was already released from the carpet fibers. I know these particular carpets were on the pricey side of carpet, however this does not mean they are immune to issues. The warranty companies are in business to deny claims, that is why they gave you some information about color fastness when you called them and told them what happened when you hired our company. If you changed your story and told them you simply cleaned them a year ago with a rug doctor they would again deny your claim due to the PH levels in the carpet from the dog urine and shampoo. I would be happy to speak with a claim representative about this situation with you to show you what I mean, and present them from the IICRC's side of what is going on with the carpets. A simple fix however would be for a company to spot dye the blues and yellows back into the carpet where only the base tint of red is remaining.
