Best Services subcontracted the installation of the [redacted]' [redacted] heat pump system (manufactured by [redacted]) to [redacted], who lives in [redacted] and is a licensed installer. All service was to be handled by [redacted], as [redacted] is outside of our normal business area -- it's 1-1/2 hours away from our office in [redacted]. Being a small company with limited numbers of service technicians, it is difficult for us to send a technician from [redacted] to [redacted], especially in the busy summer and winter seasons. We try to keep our service technicians close to our home area for best productivity. We did, however, send one of our technicians to service the system March 7 of this year when we weren't extremely booked. Our technician added some refrigerant and UV dye to the system and corrected some duct issues. We charged for that service because the system's initial one year warranty on labor had passed and refrigerant is no longer covered under the manufacturer's warranty. That is the only service history that we have on file. If the [redacted] have had other services, they may have been performed by [redacted], who installed the system.
Mrs. [redacted] suggests in her complaint that the equipment was supposedly new. I can assure you that the equipment that was installed was brand new. The standard warranty on the equipment is one year labor and 10 years on parts and compressor when properly registered by the homeowner. Since the system was installed in June 2011, the system has been out of labor warranty for a little over two years. If the [redacted] are not receiving satisfactory service from[redacted], I suggest they seek out another company that is close to their home. Since the labor warranty has expired, any reputable company should be able to service the equipment and handle any parts warranty claims that may arise. I did speak to [redacted] regarding his last service visit. He told me that when he arrived the equipment was operating properly and to manufacturer's specs. No issues were detected and no problems could be duplicated. He said it did take a while for him to get out for the service call due to a very heavy schedule on his end.
As far a Best Services is concerned, unfortunately, we are unable to provide service to [redacted]
