Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:This is my response to Mike B[redacted]’s latest comments.  We had tried to contact B[redacted] on several occasions over the last year and ½ in the form of email, phone calls, certified mail to explain our issues and situation to B[redacted] Solar since the late summer of 2015. The only response that we have seen is when we contacted Revdex.com.  When we filed our original complaint with Revdex.com, a question was asked something to the following. “How much or what are you expecting to resolved the situation”. I put $10,000. I don't know if he sees that amount or not. This is the first time I have gone to the Revdex.com. On 6/22/ 2015 B[redacted]’s Purchase and Installation Agreement was signed by both party “It states, that B[redacted] will comply with all applicable laws and regulations”.We feel that B[redacted] has not followed that contract because of the following issues and I will explain them in the following chronological order. 1.       After installation was completed we were told that Rocky Mountain Power would be coming out in a couple of weeks to change the net meter. We waited those weeks then called Rocky Mountain Power. They told us that no one from B[redacted]es organization had called them to Install the Net Metering system.  They came out the next day.  The Solar Edge Operating systems was not on, nor was it hooked to a website for us to following and see if it was working or not.  We did not know that is was not on until we received a Power Bill in September or Oct and found that the solar conversion was not on. Ben ______ came out and put in a computer connection and started the system.  August and September had come and gone with good sun power wasted.  2.       We feel that the contract was broken when the B[redacted] Provided Engineering plans were altered with the original installation. B[redacted]es sub-contractor (on their own) changed the plans and put half of the panel on the East Side of the roof. The original plans (we asked for a copy of the plans as I remembered the sales person said the panels would be on the west side.) We asked B[redacted] for those plans. We finally got a copy from Layton City)  It has all the panels on the west side of the house. “The purchase agreement says any alteration or deviation from above specification will be executed only upon written order”.  No one asked us, no one contacted the city for changes. 3.       The Office of State Department of Commerce stopped at our resident and was asking about a Victor ______ _______. They asked us if we knew who he was and was he ever on our property during installation. We told them no, that DBM Solar and Design and Consulting Company did the installation.  I then contacted Layton City and they told us that they contacted State Commerce. Dustin had made applications for our installation and was using a Victor Electrician License number.  We asked the city to review the plans and they said that someone from DBM came in and asked if an upgrade was necessary. The city told them not at the time, but the law was going to change. I contacted Layton City asking them how everything was approved since B[redacted] did not comply with regulations. They said they just do a visible inspection. They don’t climb on the roof, they told us to get a peer review.  They were the ones that told us the original plans indicated a service upgrade.  Layton City said that it was never made.4.        We then asked B[redacted]/Ben/Laraine for the 100 mp service upgrade as stated by the contract. I think Victor [redacted] was on our property as that time. I know they were trying to avoid digging into the property and had Layton City come out to our resident to see if they could avoid it.  Before the upgrade was made I make application for this change with Layton City for a new permit. At that time, we found out that to comply with state laws that a License Solar Electrician had to be on site the whole time the installation was performed. I believe that neither Dustin or Ben  has or had a Solar Electrician License while preforming work on our property. We send an email to B[redacted] after Laramie wanted more money that the original final payment. (Laramie said he no longer worked for B[redacted] and said  he said everything looked like fraud) We contacted Ben several times to help us with the situations.  He made mention that he was the foreman for B[redacted] Roofing.  (In a recent personal email to us, Mike B[redacted] said Ben nor Laramie were not employed by him, we have been trying to figure out what has been going on. ) Last winter we told Ben that we did not feel that the system was working properly with half of the panels on the east side of the house. He came and moved the panels in the spring of 2016. He had someone (we thought it might be Roofers from B[redacted] who had completed a patch job on the east roof). We had our original roofer come and do a peer review, they told we still have holes in the roof and shingles were not nailed down. The charged us 300.00. In a recent email or the certified letter, I mentioned cost to Mr. B[redacted]’s personal emails that he provided us in a response to Revdex.com.  I’ve been trying to be respectful and contact him personally, I can see know that I was wrong as he has twisted things around. Ben told us not to tell Mike B[redacted] that he was changing the panels to a southern side. I was thinking that he was helping Mike B[redacted] out and not charging anyone money, If I can read between the lines now, Ben was the original sub and he sub it out to DBM. This January we notice on our December power bill that solar had not generated any solar. I knew that in December had several days of sun. We contacted Solar Edge. Ben came out and found that the Solar Edge was turned off, possible because of a day we were without power in November.  They have told us that the panels were not working properly bit cannot tell us which ones because the Serial Numbers were removed the sub contractor they would not tell us which panels were not working.  Solar Edge told us to have a certified Solar Installer to contact them and they would work with them. They also told us that Ben was not a qualified installer so they could not work with him. Is Mike B[redacted] referring to Ben as his installer? Unless he has recently earned that position, to our knowledge is not able to get information from Solar Edge.  For B[redacted] to act like we are being unreasonable is not accurate. I sent a certified letter to B[redacted]. It was signed by Kaulayeman (sp) B[redacted] on 1/25/17 explaining about all the problems. I don’t believe at that time I had given him any amount that we have incurred as we had been trying to find someone that could give us a Peer Review.  It has been frustrating that we have had to pay Rocky Mountain Power over $ 1,500 in the year in half (this is less the 9.00 a month that Mountain Power charges to just be hooked up to the grid).  As it has not been working properly in that year and 1/2.  I asked B[redacted] to respond to the certified letter by email, phone call or letter in one week. B[redacted] never responded to that certified letter, that is why I went to the Revdex.com. At that time, I’m was also trying to contact Solar Edges.  I filed a complaint with Revdex.com Complaint, hoping to make contact with B[redacted].  During that process we received the Peer Review of Solar System (Fix system so it meets code is what we were told) They said the conduit was laying on the roof and there were some exposed wires. I sent Mike B[redacted] to his personal email that he provided with Revdex.com.  I sent a copy of that bid of 800.00. I invited Mike B[redacted] to call the Licensed Solar Electrician that gave us the bid.  We asked the peer installer what he felt we needed to have a workable system and he said you need a new system. It was then I also contacted an attorney. Mike B[redacted] sent me a personal email offering me the 800.00. Never at any time did I ask for that amount.  When I filed the complaint with Revdex.com, a question was asked what I was asking. I put 10,000.  That is far less than the than the original cost of 19,950.00We have contacted an attorney to see what our possibilities are, if any. They have since been on our property and found that the conduit was laying on the roof, (not to code) water had seeped into boxes. Some of the boxes were full of water. (I don’t know if that means the panels or converter or what.   There were some exposed wires, that needed conduit around it. As Certified Solar installers, there have been able have communications with Solar Edge that could give them the information needed that each panel was working properly. Because of the irregular power bills, it seems that no one can tell us if we have enough panels to run what our home needs. We don’t feel B[redacted]es offer or 800.00 will fix our problems. It might be a quick fix now but I feel that with water in the boxes, it is just a matter of time that metal will starts rusting. B[redacted] has not been interested in our situation until we contacted Revdex.com.  Because B[redacted] Solar has not followed their Agreement, I’m not sure our investment will be realized if we were to ever sell the home.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
